PERSONALITY: Sai is always full of energy, and can’t stand to be locked up anywhere for too long. She doesn’t have any fear of people or bad weather or dangerous situations—she just wants to try anything and everything. Other cultures fascinate her, and she wants to learn about everything she can.
    She is very impulsive. She doesn’t tend to think a lot of things through, which can get her in trouble, but, being an actress, she knows how to manipulate people into getting what she wants.
    She doesn’t get intimidated by anything, really. She’ll face every situation headon and knows how to hold her own. She can’t stand when people underestimate her or treat others unfairly. Everyone is equal in her mind, and she thinks that everyone feels the same way.
    She is an extrovert, there’s no doubt about it. She gets her energy from being around people and being outside. She knows how to make other people comfortable in tense or awkward situations (the key is just being herself), and doesn’t like it when anyone is upset or uncomfortable. She feels like it’s her job to help them feel better.
    Although she’s quite happy with her life as an actress, she misses being able to travel all of the time. She gets bored quite easily, and needs constant stimulus to entertain her.
    She is very much a social learner. She can’t just pick up a book and absorb everything she wants to know. She needs to talk it out to figure a problem out or have a conversation with someone about what she’s trying to learn in order to actually understand and remember it. That’s one of the reasons she’s such a good actress. Talking helps her remember things. She is great at memorizing vocal things, including languages. Although, again, she needs the talking with someone else who knows the language to learn it.
    Sai is very comfortable in her own body and with herself. She doesn’t mind changing in front of people or talking about things usually “awkward” to talk about. It’s her body, and she’s happy with it. She doesn’t understand why some people feel the need to hide it away.
    Along with this being comfortable in her own skin, gender roles don’t mean shit to her. She is her own person, and she’s not going to let anyone tell her how to be.
    She can be a very sarcastic and savage person. Especially when she’s tired, she lets her filter slip.
Adaptive is a good word to defining Sai. She won’t let herself be uncomfortable in a situation. Either she’ll just be herself and not care or, if the people around her really seem to not like that, she’ll just leave. She’s not one for caring what others think of her.


BACKGROUND: Sai had a pretty good life in New Zealand. She didn’t see her father much, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t have the closest bond a father and daughter could have. Her family was a very close one. They had actual love for one another, instead of simply respecting each other because some legal documents or bloodlines told them to care. She was incredibly interested in acting, because her mother would always take her to the sets she worked on. She would always have some kind of role in the school plays (it’s no lie the teachers would bias her and choose her for leads because of her mother).
    When she was nine, her mother was killed in a car crash on the way to film a movie. Sai and her father were hit hard by the death, but it only worked to bring them closer together. Neither of them could really stand to stay in New Zealand for much longer, and so her father accepted a promotion being offered to him. This promotion required moving around quite a bit, but her and her parents had always dreamed of travelling the world, and they decided to live in the moment, because they had waited too long, and Sai’s mother had died before they got the opportunity.
    So, they moved. Her father works as some kind of international businessman (Sai has never been entirely sure what he actually does. She just knows that it has forced her to go to many a formal dinner). The first two moves were easy, because they were to the US and Japan, and Sai grew up speaking both English and Japanese.
    Throughout all of her moves, she managed to adjust quite easily. “Adaptive” is definitely a good word to define Sai. She managed to gain enough friends to enjoy her school life, and had her father and their weekend explorations to keep her busy. There were times when she knew they would only spend a month or two in any one place, so she acted as a completely different person the entire time she was there, just to see how the people would respond to her, and to see if she could actually pull it off. It was a good exercise and good practice for her to later becoming an actress.
    While living in Osaka, Japan, she turned 18, and it really hit her that she had to do something in life. She couldn’t allow herself to just live off of her father’s money and travel. So, she decided that acting was the path she wanted to go down. She had always enjoyed it, and her mother was an actress, so it just seemed right. She spent a year taking acting lessons in Japan, before moving with South Korea when her father was relocated there. From there, she enrolled in an acting college, and auditioned for Starship entertainment. After training for a ten months under Starship, they debuted her in a drama.

HIS PERSONALITY: (I’m still learned the personalities of Monsta X, so please let me know if I messed up majorly anywhere, lol). Changkyun loves to be outside (he once complained on “Weekly Idol” that Monsta X stays inside too much), speaks fluent English, and moved around a lot as a child. All of this lead I.M. and Sai to become natural friends. They could both relate to one another (and complain about) things no one else understands. He’s like Sai in that he thoroughly enjoys exploring and trying new things. Although, he is a bit more hesitant and less impulsive when it comes to things. He always weighs the pros and cons before jumping into something. Instead of talking, talking, and talking, he tends to stay quiet and throw in sarcastic or savage side comments whenever he can.

HOW HE ACTS AROUND YOU:
    ° Beginning: At the beginning of the show, they’re already incredibly comfortable with one another. Whenever the group is told they have to do something in pairs, Changkyun will pull Sai closer to him (especially since it takes him a little bit to get used to new people.)
    ° Middle: He’s hella confused (I never say this word, but it just fit here lol). There’s just something...different, and he doesn’t know what it means. They’re still quite close, but it’s just a bit more awkward, even though neither of them try to approach the awkwardness.
    ° End: There’s a new kind of protectiveness from I.M. He was already quite protective of Sai (even though he knows she doesn’t need it, except to save herself from jumping into—or off of—anything possibly dangerous). It’s more like a brotherly love than anything else.

HOW YOU ACT AROUND HIM:
    ° Beginning: As I.M. isn’t as outgoing as Sai is, she’ll drag him along wherever she goes, and forces him to join her in doing things and having fun. Neither of them mind telling each other everything, because they don’t have a lot of boundaries with the other due to their friendship.
    ° Middle: What the hell is going on? She has no idea why she’s feeling something different towards Changkyun. Nothing has changed. Maybe it’s indigestion from the new food? During this time, she takes a lot longer to think over her words before she actually says anything.
    ° End: It’s almost as if they had to get over that awkward phase of feelings to get to their actual sibling-like relationship. Getting past the stages of confusion and realizing there’s nothing but platonic love between them was what they needed to break down any walls between them. They’ll probably be closer than even any significant other could be. Changkyun will ultimately be the person Sai always goes to, and the same goes for Sai.

HOW WOULD YOU REACT IF SOMEONE ELSE LOST THEIR BAG?: she would help them find it. she enjoys talking to people, and would think of it as just another adventure.

HOW WOULD YOU REACT IF YOU LOST YOUR BAG?: she wouldn’t panic that much. she’s lost luggage many times before and she doesn’t tend to pack a lot anyway. she prefers to experience the culture of wherever she’s visiting, instead of bringing her own culture to that country. she would let someone know she lost it, and leave her phone number so they could call her if they found it, but it wouldn’t stop her from enjoying her trip.

DO YOU LIKE AIRPLANES: yes and no. she likes them because they give her a chance to stare out of the window at everything, and get a new look at it all, and allow her to travel to new places. on the other hand, she would prefer to travel on the ground, where she can actually experience everything close up.

Talking to someone is like travelling somewhere new for her, except much less expensive. When meeting new people, she doesn’t like to ask “small talk” questions like “what’s your favorite color?” or “what’s your favorite book?”, she likes to ask questions that are much more personal. She’ll ask where someone wants to travel to and why, or what their favorite experience travelling was, and why they loved it so much.

DO YOU GET SCARED EASILY?: If there was a rating scale to measure how scared a person is, it would go from “Utterly Terrified” to “Sai”
