I do find it illuminating for this subreddit, which enthusiastically supported this man, to then be shocked when he turns out to be exactly what his own statements indicated he was.

In fact, posting those statements seemed to just invite downvotes. Surely you weren't downvoting something without even reading right? Isn't that what children do?

A Swedish friend actually likened this situation to how people seemed to feel when they realized what kind of scum Reinfeldt was. And believe me, he is scum. That 11 year old girl run down in Stockholm? He said, "she was the price of an open society."

Macron's probably too smart to say something like that. But I bet he thinks it.

What reasoning is there with people who believe such things? Before you think about the implications of that, ask yourself, "what do you deserve, really?" All the answers you would ever need are there.
