5.
6. Velvet is a group of Zoners that works on the removal of Nomad influence and incursions in the Omicron systems, based primarily out of Freeport 11.
7.
8. What started off as a small idea to keep Freeport 11 safe and secure, soon slowly started turning into a much larger security detail for not just the station, but for other stations, extending services already to have saved Hellas and Freeport 9 from several Nomad strikes as well.
9.
10. The vision of Velvet is for all humans to be able to survive and prosper in the outer Omicron systems without the fear of the culling of human lives by alien incursion and influence. The organization will achieve this by using war ships provided by different benefactors to destroy Nomad warforms that lurk the Omicron systems with significant human presences, assisting anyone and everyone who is being harassed by Nomads and performing reconnaissance with state of the art technology to monitor Nomad traffic.
11.
12. Velvet is under a strict directive to not bring harm to the rest of humanity, regardless of affiliation, either by action or by inaction, in the fight against Nomads, with the exception of those who actively defend the Nomads by firing upon others.
13.
14. The organization’s objectives do NOT include the harvesting of Nomad technology, or influencing the Omicron’s power struggle between the Order and the Core, or challenging the concept of Zoner “neutrality”.

94. Most Velvet operatives are currently limited to snub crafts. Due to it's current limited influence, Velvet cannot commit to the use of many larger vessels.
95.
96. All snubcrafts are provided by Velvet’s benefactors, but pilots can bring their own ships to battle under the wing’s name, however this first has to be approved by Velvet Red. The ships that are provided can be freely modified, the Ships and Weapon Systems that are currently permitted are all Civilian, Border Worlds and Zoner technology.

128. There are 4 specializations that Velvet members can undertake:
129.
130. Reconnaissance Division - Headed by White
131. The eyes and ears that spot out Nomad ships before they even become a direct threat. Primarily they use Light Fighter class vessels to get in, get information and fall back to the base that they were operating from. These ships are specially designed to be reconnaissance vessels, however they can also be used for interceptive operations as well.
132.
133. Bomber Squadron - Headed by Onyx
134. The heavy munitions team that uses bombers to neutralise larger targets, such as capital class ships. They can also be used in support roles for other units.
135.
136. Fighter Wing - Headed by Red
137. Flying everything from Light Fighters to Super Heavy Fighters. They are the main wing who deal with the smaller vessels, as well as extending to escort and support roles when needed.
138.
139. HQ Division - Headed by Red
140. The section of Velvet where the larger ships are positioned. Currently this is the mobile HQ, "Velvet|Gold", and the Fearless Q-Ship "Velvet|Opal". They are also the section of Velvet that deal with background tasks and paper work.

144. OORP FAQ
145. Is this another Zoner military faction who wants to abuse their neutrality or what
146. We don’t aim to become a faction that abuses Server Rule 4.5 for no reason other than to get blues on Nomads. We wish to become an additional cog in the Omicron’s Nomad drama as a group of Zoners who have had enough with the alien’s harassment and peacocking around Freeport 11 space, and we’ll achieve this by alerting and uniting the various Zoner-affiliated factions to achieve funding necessary to arm, train and supply faithful pilots to drive the Nomads out.
147.
148. Will you insta-engage humans affiliated to Nomads
149. No. That would be breaking the server rules and we need to stick to our ID limitations.
150.
151. Why the hell did you pick a PASSENGER LINER for your HQ
152. The Oasis has been chosen as the ship for the Velvet Gold because we do not want to heavily commit to the use of capital ships yet. However, as the faction grows, so will the HQ.
153.
154. Is this “The Order 2.0”
155. We’re trying really hard not to be. Two things are for sure: we do NOT operate in House space, and usually stick to the Omicrons. We are not here to directly influence the power struggle between The Core and the Order. Our interest is purely the protection of Zoner and allied assets.
156.
157. Is this “The Core 2.0”
158. No, because we don’t want anything to do with Nomad technology, creating a paramilitary or conquering the world. Plus, we’re not “Lawful Evil”, as part of our RP.
159.
160. Won’t this make Nomads not log for fear of Velvet ganks
161. We don’t hunt down Nomad players. Our operations are defensive in nature. We do NOT initiate search and destroy missions without adequate intelligence and orders in mind.
