ok guys, so this is what is happening to the new update

IT IS BROKEN AS SHIT

also just to make sure MHW = Monster Hunter World

no like seriously, it is super broken, i've tried everything, from incremental update, to just update to the latest, but no matter what i do, it always crashes on blackscreen

i've checked cs.rin.ru forums and it is pretty much confirmed borken (unless you use like a steam emulator) so this is the full guide of what to do if you installed the new updated and the game stopped working

Step 1: (if you have played MHW before)
If you played with steamworkfix go retrieve your save at this location

C:\Users\Public\Documents\CoopLand\582010\Saves\

if you did not play with steamworkfix go retrieve your save at this loaction

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Steam\CODEX\582010\remote\
if it isn't there then try
C:\%appdata%\CPY_SAVES\CPY\582010

copy it all in a handy backup folder (on your desktop or somewhere you can get into easly)

Step 2:
now, delete your game, like legit, delete the MHW game folder.

Step 3:
Re-download MHW (torrent or parts, both works)

Download UPDATE V163956 but don't download the last one it is useless (UPDATE V166925)

Step 4:
Install MHW (make sure you check the Copy content of CODEX directory to installdir checkbox)
Install the update (open the Monster.Hunter.World.UPDATE.163956 folder)

If you don't want to play online and you had no previous saves you can now boot the game

Step 5 (steamworkfix to play online skip this step if you don't want to play online)
download the steamworkfix from the link below (i've uploaded it on my private server, it won't be taken down)

copy all the contents of the rar inside MHW install directory

go to steam and download payday2 demo and cancel the download

if you had no previous saves now you can boot up the game, keep in mind that steam has to be open for the steamworkfix to work

Step 6 (if you had previous saves)

now, if you have previous saves regardless of if you played online or not if you want them back you'ill have to restore them

Open the tool, on the top left you'll see the option file, select open

Navigate to the folder you made in step 1, select SAVEDATA1000 and open that

You'll see Steam ID thing, copy that id (you can doble click to copy it) and paste it somewhere, you'll need that

go to your MHW install directory and open CPY.ini with any text editor and delete the numbers after "SteamID=" and paste the one you copied there and save the file

now you can open the game and i'll work like a charm
