  1. #Piexplode: yeah sure
  2. #Piexplode: firstly I gotta tell u what we've
  3. #Piexplode: actually done
  4. #Piexplode: lol
  5. #Piexplode: in terms of what's completed
  6. #Piexplode: we've made 40 of the 60 pokemon
  7. #Piexplode: by that I mean base stats+typing
  8. #Piexplode: we have completed the list of
  9. #Piexplode: competitive moves
  10. #Piexplode: more or less true with abilities and items too
  11. #Piexplode: about half of the created mons now have complete movepools with respect to competitive moves
  12. #Piexplode: so that's where we are atm
  13. #Piexplode: in terms of particularly notable differences to standard play
  14. #Piexplode: the first and most obvious one is the hazards
  15. #Piexplode: we have no toxic spikes
  16. #Piexplode: we have a spikes equivalent but it's 2 layers, each added layer does 1/8 damage
  17. #Piexplode: and we have health orbs
  18. #Piexplode: which are basically hazards on your own side that heal you depending upon
  19. #Piexplode: how weak to psychic you are
  20. #Piexplode: the most you can heal is
  21. #Piexplode: 30%
  22. #Piexplode: if you're a poison/fighting type
  23. #Piexplode: naturally, dark types heal nothing
  24. #Piexplode: the scale is 30/20/10/5/2.5 iirc in terms of how much you heal but I'd have to check
  25. #Piexplode: also we have a clone to sticky web called mud puddle
  26. #Piexplode: the next major difference is
  27. #Piexplode: whilst we don't have weather
  28. #Piexplode: we have something called terrains
  29. #Piexplode: they can be seen here http://projectbam.proboards.com/thread/109/terrains
  30. #Piexplode: basically there's
  31. #Piexplode: 5 sorts
  32. #Piexplode: they all have
  33. #Piexplode: a move and an ability which summon them
  34. #Piexplode: I'll give u a minute to read through the thread
  35. #Piexplode: since there's no point in me just copypasting text
  36. #Piexplode: but I think you'll agree it's pretty awesome
  37. #Piexplode: (not sure how we'll program them but we'll work over that hurdle when we come to it)
  38. +RotomPoison: i think someone programmed something similar to it
  39. +RotomPoison: it was probably joim
  40. #Piexplode: okay well that's good to know at least
  41. #Piexplode: do they look neat?
  42. +RotomPoison: yeah but water types just become a lot better from it
  43. #Piexplode: well not nessecarily better but
  44. #Piexplode: it certainly makes them
  45. #Piexplode: very interesting
  46. #Piexplode: actually one of the pokemon
  47. #Piexplode: which we've planned but not created yet
  48. #Piexplode: basically we're having FWG starters each with megas pretty much and
  49. #Piexplode: the water one
  50. #Piexplode: the plan is that
  51. #Piexplode: in 2 terrains it's awesome
  52. #Piexplode: and in the other 2 it sucks
  53. #Piexplode: and then when it mega evolves
  54. #Piexplode: the 2 which it was awesome in it now sucks in
  55. #Piexplode: and vice versa
  56. #Piexplode: this'll be done by stuff like manipulating its movepool, coverage moves, and what type's its STAB etc.
  57. #Piexplode: is that an awesome concept or what?
  58. +RotomPoison: it is
  59. #Piexplode: cool
  60. #Piexplode: okay I'll now tell you about particularly major moves, although each type has physical and special usable STABs
  61. #Piexplode: altho ground's special one is shit imo the rest are good lol
  62. #Piexplode: I only say ground's special is shitcos 80 power 80 accuracy
  63. #Piexplode: but we don't really have anything that needs it badly atm so
  64. #Piexplode: no worries
  65. #Piexplode: http://projectbam.proboards.com/thread/262/overview-descriptions this has the complete list of moves that you can look at later
  66. #Piexplode: we have Boom which is basically Explosion but we also have
  67. #Piexplode: Dimension Bomb
  68. #Piexplode: which is
  69. #Piexplode: a special dark-type selfdestruct
  70. #Piexplode: we still have wish and leech seed
  71. #Piexplode: although we have an electric-type leech seed too called Sap
  72. #Piexplode: belly drum still exists too
  73. #Piexplode: our clones of toxic/WoW are 100% accurate
  74. #Piexplode: wwhilst the twave mexiclone is 70% accurate and only 1 move has a possibility of paralysis as an added effect
  75. #Piexplode: Simorgh, our fire-type pokemon with a mega
  76. #Piexplode: has an insanely cool signature move too
  77. #Piexplode: it's called
  78. #Piexplode: Phoenix To Ashes
  79. #Piexplode: basically it has priority -4
  80. #Piexplode: faints the user
  81. #Piexplode: and revives to full health etc.
  82. #Piexplode: 1 fainted pokemon
  83. #Piexplode: in terms of hazard clearing we have
  84. #Piexplode: cursed winds which is a ghost-type rapid spin
  85. #Piexplode: and we also have
  86. #Piexplode: wash away
  87. #Piexplode: which just clears hazards on your own side
  88. #Piexplode: and is tauntable
  89. #Piexplode: and is water type
  90. #Piexplode: we have clones of screens which are called Vine Guard and Tesla Shield (grass and electric typed respedctively)
  91. #Piexplode: in terms of set up moves and moves like growl we've generally got clones for them
  92. #Piexplode: the only move that gives a +3 boost is a cotton guard clone called Titanium Defense though
  93. #Piexplode: In terms of sleep movfes there's 4
  94. #Piexplode: the most accurate is Steel type 90% acc called Sleepwrks
  95. #Piexplode: *works
  96. #Piexplode: then we have a rock type 85% acc called Quartz Spell
  97. #Piexplode: Birdsong is flying type and 70% accurate
  98. #Piexplode: and Sweet Melody is 60% acc and normal
  99. #Piexplode: furthermore there's also a move called
  100. #Piexplode: Dreamwish
  101. #Piexplode: which is ghost type and
  102. #Piexplode: essentially consider it as
  103. #Piexplode: a spore that only works whilst you are asleep
  104. #Piexplode: Sand Gust and Strong Gust are phazing moves
  105. #Piexplode: Sand is Ground type and a status move whilst
  106. #Piexplode: Strong is Flying type and 40 base power
  107. #Piexplode: Healing Circle is a weird move
  108. #Piexplode: it basically heals both you and your opponent to max HP
  109. Fieryguns left
  110. #Piexplode: Taunt, Torment, and Destiny Bond still exist
  111. #Piexplode: (encore doesn't though)
  112. #Piexplode: we also have a psychic special belly drum called Focus Mind
  113. #Piexplode: Mirror Striker is a special psychic type foul play
  114. #Piexplode: (we're nearly done this lol)
  115. #Piexplode: we have a pin split clone called Health Sharing
  116. #Piexplode: *pain
  117. #Piexplode: a ghost type move called Soul Snatch wwhich has
  118. #Piexplode: another really weird effect
  119. #Piexplode: basically the user of the moves
  120. #Piexplode: replaces their secondary type
  121. #Piexplode: with the opponent's primary type
  122. #Piexplode: the only thing left now is the priority moves
  123. #Piexplode: o and we have
  124. #Piexplode: Concealed Power which is basically a physical hidden power
  125. #Piexplode: Nitro Crash - Phys, BP=40, Acc=100, +1 Priority
  126. #Piexplode: Leaf Turbine - Phys, BP=40, Acc=100, +1 Priority
  127. #Piexplode: Flash Freeze - Spc, BP=40, Acc=100, +1 Priority
  128. #Piexplode: Rocket Slam - Phys, BP=40, Acc=100, +1 Priority
  129. #Piexplode: Swift Swing - Phys, BP=40, Acc=100, +1 Priority
  130. #Piexplode: and their respective typings are Fire, Grass, Ice, Steel, Bug
  131. #Piexplode: ooooooh and also
  132. #Piexplode: Spring is a steel type u-turn
  133. #Piexplode: and Leaf Turn is a grass type volt switch
  134. #Piexplode: obviously I don't expect you to remember all of that at least straight away lol
  135. #Piexplode: but the thread is always there for reference
  136. #Piexplode: ^^
  137. #Piexplode: tell me when you're ready for me to continue onto discussing the pokemon
  138. +RotomPoison: ready
  139. #Piexplode: okay
  140. #Piexplode: also what do you
  141. #Piexplode: think of all of that lol
  142. +RotomPoison: its really different so i cant say much until i try it
  143. #Piexplode: well naturally we can't playtest it until we've got everything made and coded so
  144. #Piexplode: we have to go by theorymonning
  145. #Piexplode: I don't feel that there's very much in there that's
  146. #Piexplode: super original
  147. #Piexplode: but I think there's enough and that
  148. #Piexplode: overall it's interesting and unique
  149. #Piexplode: okay now I'll go through the pokemon one by one
  150. #Piexplode: 01 Fire Flyi 080 110 090 060 090 100 550 Simorgh i.imgur.com/hLNLv0u.png
  151. #Piexplode: 01MFire Flyi 080 100 105 145 105 095 630 Mega-Simorgh
  152. #Piexplode: I'll give you the pokedex listing so
  153. #Piexplode: the first one is Simorgh
  154. #Piexplode: the fire type 'starter'
  155. #Piexplode: that's a picture of it although it's not nessecarily the final version
  156. +RotomPoison: why did you give it 80 more defense
  157. #Piexplode: we didn't
  158. #Piexplode: it goes from
  159. +RotomPoison: oh it lined up wrong
  160. #Piexplode: 80/110/90/60/90/100
  161. #Piexplode: to
  162. #Piexplode: 80/100/105/145/105/95
  163. +RotomPoison: yeah its spatk not defense
  164. #Piexplode: yea
  165. #Piexplode: we gave it 85 SpA instead ;)
  166. #Piexplode: I think that it's a really cool concept
  167. #Piexplode: also we won't have the
  168. #Piexplode: limit on mega evolutions
  169. #Piexplode: that are in place in regular pokemon
  170. #Piexplode: since there's only gonna be 3 and they're not going to be particularly more dangerous in combination
  171. #Piexplode: but yea the concept behind this one was
  172. #Piexplode: to have a pokemon that in its base forme is
  173. #Piexplode: a physical attack
  174. #Piexplode: *attacker
  175. #Piexplode: and in its mega forme
  176. #Piexplode: becomes slightly slower, a bit bulkier, and a special attacker
  177. #Piexplode: offensively we're all aware of how good its coverage can be, just looking at ho-oh for example
  178. #Piexplode: defensively it's fairly neat too
  179. #Piexplode: aside from having roost
  180. #Piexplode: it has neat resistances to
  181. #Piexplode: grass (4x) and steel (2x) which are
  182. #Piexplode: the 2 pivot moves (SpringTurn)'s types
  183. #Piexplode: aka it resists Spring and Leaf Turn
  184. #Piexplode: as well as resisting fairy which we will see much later on has its uses too
  185. #Piexplode: so that's basically Simorgh and how it works
  186. #Piexplode: next
  187. #Piexplode: 04 Norm Flyi 046 092 101 094 102 115 550
  188. #Piexplode: no name for this one yet
  189. #Piexplode: oh I forgot to say that Simorgh comes from
  190. #Piexplode: the Persian for Phoenix
  191. #Piexplode: which I guess should make sense what with its signature move being a Phoenix move
  192. #Piexplode: okay anyway this pokemon
  193. #Piexplode: as of yet unnamed
  194. #Piexplode: its speed tier we'll see is actually
  195. #Piexplode: pretty godly
  196. #Piexplode: it has
  197. #Piexplode: usable attacking stats on both ends of the spectrum
  198. #Piexplode: and a huge variety of boosting moves
  199. #Piexplode: e.g. a bulk up clone (called strengthen), a dragon dance clone (called soar), a swords dance clone (called war cry), a calm mind clone (called energy draw)
  200. #Piexplode: as well as a good STAB combination to abuse it
  201. #Piexplode: and a not useless grass resistance and
  202. #Piexplode: a very helpful ghost immunity that lets it
  203. #Piexplode: block cursed winds
  204. #Piexplode: effectively BAM spinblocking
  205. #Piexplode: on top of great speed, okay bulk, good STABs with coverage options, and a variety of boosting moves
  206. #Piexplode: powerful and a little unpredictable I feel
  207. #Piexplode: :)
  208. #Piexplode: next
  209. #Piexplode: 05 Norm ---- 140 057 056 080 105 012 450 Pandoze
  210. #Piexplode: basically this is a mothafuckin special wall as well as a blocker of cursed winds
  211. #Piexplode: it has okay special attack too
  212. +RotomPoison: oh 1 question
  213. #Piexplode: yea
  214. #Piexplode: ? :)
  215. +RotomPoison: what about recovery moves
  216. #Piexplode: we have rest, wish, and some recover clones as well as slack off and roost
  217. #Piexplode: and we have some other ones umm lemme get u the description of
  218. #Piexplode: Absorb Matter and Shooting Stars
  219. #Piexplode: Absorb Matter - Restores 30% of Max HP, Boosts Defense 1 Stage
  220. #Piexplode: Shooting Stars - Heals 25% HP each turn for 4 turns.
  221. #Piexplode: there's also a move that is effectively a recover that only works whilst you're asleep
  222. #Piexplode: now back onto Pandoze
  223. #Piexplode: as you can probably guess from the name it has something to do with sleeping
  224. #Piexplode: well
  225. #Piexplode: its movepool includes a move caled Hibernate
  226. #Piexplode: which basically means
  227. #Piexplode: you sleep for absolutely fuckin ages
  228. #Piexplode: and then it has moves which only work whilst asleep
  229. #Piexplode: including as I say a recover clone
  230. #Piexplode: as well as
  231. #Piexplode: a move that allows you to phaze whilst you're asleep
  232. #Piexplode: a normal special stab move
  233. #Piexplode: and also a powerful fighting special attack and dark type special attack
  234. #Piexplode: it does also have access to a few mroe standard moves like
  235. #Piexplode: Rest, Sleep Talk, Toxify (toxic clone), Slack Off
  236. #Piexplode: but is generally designed to mostly function best whilst asleep
  237. #Piexplode: ^.^ and onto the next pokemon
  238. #Piexplode: 06 Rock Flyi 075 140 200 045 090 055 605 Apaflite
  239. #Piexplode: I thinkt his is
  240. #Piexplode: the highest BST mon
  241. #Piexplode: basically it's an
  242. #Piexplode: insane physical tank
  243. #Piexplode: with abusable special bulk (75/90 is still great though)
  244. #Piexplode: and fairly poor speed that makes it rely on said bulk
  245. #Piexplode: as well as a nuclear base 140 attack stat
  246. #Piexplode: it's a cool answer to normal/ground coverage
  247. #Piexplode: but it does have a lot of exploitable weaknesses naturally
  248. #Piexplode: and there are a couple of pokemon that happily wall it
  249. #Piexplode: but it's an absolute powerhouse and a tank
  250. #Piexplode: 07 Rock Grou 106 112 066 040 109 047 480 Dendurus
  251. #Piexplode: this pokemon gets the ability that sets the Desert Terrain
  252. #Piexplode: it's based on the hippocampus or something idr but it's named after Dendain which was a desert that whatever mythical creature it's named after came from
  253. #Piexplode: as you can see it has
  254. #Piexplode: reasonable specual bulk
  255. #Piexplode: *special
  256. #Piexplode: and usable physical bulk although it's by no means a great tank I reckon
  257. #Piexplode: its attack power is okay too
  258. #Piexplode: it has to make great use of its resistances to really be viable as well as its access to mud puddle
  259. #Piexplode: fire and flying resistances as well as a poison resistance and electric immunity
  260. #Piexplode: are all positive traits
  261. #Piexplode: but the huge water, grass, ice, steel, ground, and fighting weakness are major setbacks
  262. #Piexplode: in particular, grass and steel are the types of SpringTurn, whilst Ice is the type of the stealth rock clone
  263. +RotomPoison: you made stealth rock better
  264. #Piexplode: In short it acts as a glue to check very specific threats whilst also having access to desert and mud puddle
  265. #Piexplode: you mean by making it ice type instead of rock type?
  266. #Piexplode: arguably I guess you could say but whatever type it is it's gonna be influential and fuck some type or other over
  267. +RotomPoison: not if you made it a bad type
  268. #Piexplode: if it was poison for example then
  269. #Piexplode: grass and fairy would be
  270. #Piexplode: having a hard time of it
  271. #Piexplode: either that or the move wouldn't be worth using most of the time lol
  272. +RotomPoison: what relevant pokemon is hit 4x by poison
  273. #Piexplode: whimsicott?
  274. +RotomPoison: i guess
  275. #Piexplode: lol if something hits no relevant pokemon then why would you use it in the first place?
  276. #Piexplode: anyway it hits 4 types SE and 4 type nvfe
  277. #Piexplode: so ground/grass/flying/dragon will have some issues and fire/water/ice/steel will benefit
  278. #Piexplode: ice having some defensive bonus - not something you ever saw coming
  279. #Piexplode: anyway if a pokemon really is suffering too much we always have
  280. #Piexplode: the capacity to boost it a bit if really needs be to make it viable
  281. #Piexplode: 08 Grou Dark 040 110 090 105 090 050 485 Bandirto
  282. #Piexplode: okay this one was pInkmoth's one and
  283. #Piexplode: I'm not totally sure how it works but
  284. #Piexplode: it has mediocre bulk and an average defensive typing and poor speed but
  285. #Piexplode: great attacking stats
  286. #Piexplode: that's kind of all I have to say about it lol
  287. #Piexplode: honestly, resisting the dark/poison combination is actually
  288. #Piexplode: pretty neat tho
  289. #Piexplode: given that one of the better mons we'll come across later abuses just that
  290. #Piexplode: oh it also resists rock and is immune to psychic and electric
  291. #Piexplode: so I guess it's something else that stuffs up Dendurus lol
  292. #Piexplode: 10 Stee ---- 119 045 123 076 126 038 525
  293. #Piexplode: this one's sort of a blanket wall with usable special attack and incredible bulk on all sides
  294. #Piexplode: however its vanilla steel coverage leaves it the obvious 3 weaknesses
  295. #Piexplode: in short, good but exploitable, and a super typical steel type
  296. #Piexplode: 11 Fire ---- 070 065 070 045 140 055 445 Sinder
  297. #Piexplode: this is a special wall
  298. #Piexplode: we've already to an extent discussed
  299. #Piexplode: how highly fucking awesome fire type is in BAM
  300. #Piexplode: and it's another prime eample of that
  301. #Piexplode: skyping my mate now
  302. #Piexplode: lol
  303. #Piexplode: I'll give u a few mins to recap what I wrote lol
  304. +RotomPoison: all of them seem good except the last one
  305. +RotomPoison: unless it at least gets some utility
  306. +RotomPoison: or recover

  311. katos123 joined
  312. #Piexplode: I haven't explained about it much yet lol
  313. katos123 left
  314. #Piexplode: sorry this is
  315. #Piexplode: a long skype call rofl
  316. #Piexplode: my mate and his girlfriend
  317. #Piexplode: from his uni
  318. #Piexplode: yknow how it is
  319. +RotomPoison: its ok im watching the end of this
  320. #Piexplode: gonna be able to talk again whenever ur ready pretty much
  321. +RotomPoison: ready
  322. #Piexplode: awesome
  323. #Piexplode: right okay so yea we were at Sinder
  324. #Piexplode: essentially it's clearly designed to be
  325. #Piexplode: a wall
  326. #Piexplode: specially oriented with
  327. #Piexplode: physical bulk that isn't dreadful but it's not going to
  328. #Piexplode: eat up anything on that side that's not resisted
  329. #Piexplode: and its attacking pwoer is unexceptional, even for a wall
  330. #Piexplode: still, it takes neutral and resisted special attacks with ease and has a good selection of resistances with only a smaller number of weaknesses
  331. #Piexplode: 13 Gras Norm 090 070 100 120 100 095 575 (springfest)
  332. #Piexplode: the 3rd and so far last nomral typed pokemon
  333. #Piexplode: sets Meadow
  334. #Piexplode: good speed
  335. #Piexplode: good bulk
  336. #Piexplode: good special attack
  337. #Piexplode: can abuse leaf turn
  338. #Piexplode: not a particularly special pokemon, but got some nice traits without any spectacular weaknesses
  339. #Piexplode: more or less your standard all-purpose special-attacking grass type
  340. #Piexplode: 14 Ghos ---- 080 060 080 130 080 110 540 (Mirror Image)
  341. #Piexplode: nb if it's in (brackets) then
  342. #Piexplode: it's not the name but it's the pokemon's general theme/idea
  343. #Piexplode: okay this is just a pretty straighforward, quick ghost type special attacker
  344. #Piexplode: powerful without being overly frail, and has a good speed
  345. #Piexplode: 15 Ghos ---- 160 112 068 039 093 052 524 Skulprit
  346. #Piexplode: a bit of a weirder stat spread this one
  347. #Piexplode: 160/68/94 defenses are
  348. #Piexplode: incredible
  349. #Piexplode: making good use of moves such as health sharing
  350. #Piexplode: as well as having the option of Soul Snatch allowing it sometimes to change its typing advantageously
  351. #Piexplode: furthermore whilst its speed and special attack are poor its attacking powerful is
  352. #Piexplode: impressive enough
  353. #Piexplode: 16 Psyc ---- 090 050 070 140 095 095 545 (Inception)
  354. #Piexplode: fairly straightforward pokemon too
  355. #Piexplode: special attacking psychic type
  356. #Piexplode: probably one of the pokemon to gain the most out of health orbs in some respect since the teams that abuse health orbs the best are probably the ones most weak to it
  357. #Piexplode: its bulk is average and its speed is fairly average for an offensive pokemon
  358. #Piexplode: 18 Ice_ Fire 095 040 085 110 115 075 530
  359. #Piexplode: A peculiar typing
  360. #Piexplode: and an interesting stat spread on this one
  361. #Piexplode: oh also I think we're going to have
  362. #Piexplode: ice to additionally resist
  363. #Piexplode: grass/water
  364. #Piexplode: anyway either way this one
  365. #Piexplode: whilst it has mediocre base 75 speed
  366. #Piexplode: it has cool defenses of 95/85/110
  367. #Piexplode: it has cool defenses of 95/85/115 *
  368. #Piexplode: as well as base 110 special attack, it's well built to be a specially attacking tank
  369. #Piexplode: glacier in particular would make it more viable to use
  370. #Piexplode: however a 4x rock weakness as well as weaknesses to fighting, ground (and possibly water)
  371. #Piexplode: it's certainly a pokemon with
  372. #Piexplode: a mixture of
  373. #Piexplode: great traits and
  374. #Piexplode: flaws that require
  375. #Piexplode: careful working around
  376. #Piexplode: when teambuilding and playing
  377. #Piexplode: 19 Ice_ Grou 087 099 113 054 102 068 513
  378. #Piexplode: the mamoswine typing, it has an average base speed of 68 and average attack stat of base 99
  379. #Piexplode: but its 87/113/102 bulk makes it stand out again as one of a fair few ice types with
  380. #Piexplode: decent bulk
  381. #Piexplode: The ice subtyping helps with ground's ice weakness (and if we have our way, water and grass impressively too - making it an awesome typing)
  382. #Piexplode: however either way it still retains ice's weaknesses to
  383. #Piexplode: fighting, steel, and fire
  384. #Piexplode: (although rock is now neutral)
  385. #Piexplode: in short I guess it's another tank, this time slightly more defensive, and another which is ice-typed
  386. #Piexplode: 20 Pois Dark 060 125 057 100 057 101 500 Slimurk
  387. #Piexplode: and I did say that
  388. #Piexplode: poison/dark coverage
  389. #Piexplode: was meaningful
  390. #Piexplode: given that this also sets up
  391. #Piexplode: Polluted Landscape
  392. #Piexplode: as well as having what at first seems poor bulk
  393. #Piexplode: of 60/57/57
  394. #Piexplode: its ability remedies this somewhat
  395. #Piexplode: whilst also having
  396. #Piexplode: good base 101 speed
  397. #Piexplode: and 125/100 mixed attacking stats
  398. #Piexplode: all in all it's a bit of a heavyweight with its 2 stabs throwing around a lot of damage
  399. #Piexplode: note that in BAM dark is not resisted by steel, but ghost is (that and ice's resistance changes are the ONLY changes to the typechart in BAM)
  400. #Piexplode: and it also has a special attack called corrosive acid
  401. #Piexplode: which is somewhat awesome as
  402. #Piexplode: it's super effective on steel types
  403. #Piexplode: and as you can imagine it finds that somewhat useful
  404. #Piexplode: not an easy pokemon to wall but pokemon that can come in with enough ease on it earn themselves a teamslot almost just for that
  405. #Piexplode: only being weak to ground is another plus for it
  406. #Piexplode: making its typing strong both offensively and defensively
  407. #Piexplode: ^^ what do you think of all these pokemon so far? Now that you've seen more you're getting an idea I guess of what the variation in power level is like, and how the stats are distributed
  408. +RotomPoison: yeah
  409. +RotomPoison: i really just want to be able to try them out
  410. #Piexplode: yea we don't have that facility yet
  411. #Piexplode: I know it's annoying but you can't exactly
  412. #Piexplode: expect someone to happy to let you program in an nly
  413. #Piexplode: partially completed game
  414. #Piexplode: onto their server
  415. #Piexplode: so it comes down to theorymon
  416. #Piexplode: the project after we complete the competitive movepools but before we create new pokemon is just to
  417. #Piexplode: myself and a few others
  418. #Piexplode: to make competitive teams or at least attempt to
  419. #Piexplode: using the currently available pokemon
  420. +RotomPoison: but what are we up to right now
  421. viciousslayer joined
  422. #Piexplode: we currently have
  423. #Piexplode: 20 of the 40 mons or something like that have complete competitive movepools
  424. #Piexplode: so it won't be too long anyway before we reach that stage
  425. +RotomPoison: so what could i help with right now
  426. #Piexplode: weell right now if you want to
  427. #Piexplode: I can assign you a few pokemon to
  428. #Piexplode: assign complete movepools to
  429. #Piexplode: if you want to wait until after that's done then u can be
  430. #Piexplode: assigned to try and
  431. #Piexplode: create a theorymonned team of
  432. #Piexplode: a given archetype
  433. #Piexplode: there's some archetypes which are current;ly available
  434. #Piexplode: and you can choose which one you want to try out
  435. +RotomPoison: ok
  436. #Piexplode: or even if you think up an unlisted archetype you can try that out instead
  437. +RotomPoison: where is a list of moves
  438. #Piexplode: http://projectbam.proboards.com/thread/262/overview-descriptions
  439. #Piexplode: the whole of that subforum contains the original threads, but that list is detailed enough that you don't really need to use any other threads anyway unless you really needed super specific details but yea basically that does all you need
  440. #Piexplode: would you like me to assing a couple of pokemon for you to do the movepools for?
  441. +RotomPoison: yeah but
  442. #Piexplode: I'd just ask that you post them in the pokemon's thread (under the subform BAM Pokemon) and they just need to be listed under physical/special/status
  443. +RotomPoison: why didnt you keep other moves like tailwind and gravity
  444. +RotomPoison: ones that arent common but could be useful here
  445. #Piexplode: because we wanted the project to be as fresh as possible
  446. #Piexplode: we also have no trick room
  447. #Piexplode: it is the plan that over the next couple of years we
  448. #Piexplode: release more versions of this with
  449. #Piexplode: added pokemon including legendaries and little ones
  450. #Piexplode: but for now we want to see what the process is like for
  451. #Piexplode: enough to produce 1 metagame
  452. #Piexplode: in the later generations
  453. #Piexplode: we would introduce new moves
  454. #Piexplode: it could include moves stolen from gamefreak again and I'd fully expect that to happen
  455. #Piexplode: especially if we branch out into doubles too then moves like helping hand, wide guard, icy wind, etc. would suddenly become a lot more important
  456. +RotomPoison: you made a physical but not special hidden power
  457. +RotomPoison: this still seems like a good list
  458. #Piexplode: ;)
  459. +RotomPoison: but why is spring 80 power
  460. #Piexplode: just because it is
  461. +RotomPoison: ok
  462. +RotomPoison: ill try making some movepools
  463. +RotomPoison: any rules for them?
  464. +RotomPoison: like every pokemon needs a certain move or what cant be used because its a signature move
  465. #Piexplode: the only signature move
  466. #Piexplode: is Phoenix To Ashes for Simorgh
  467. #Piexplode: it just has to like vaguely fit flavour wise
  468. #Piexplode: and not make the mon ridiculously OP
  469. +RotomPoison: what i mean is
  470. #Piexplode: and it can't have absolutely every move
  471. +RotomPoison: in regular pokemon almost every pokemon gets protect or hidden power
  472. #Piexplode: oh yeah those kind of rules
  473. #Piexplode: the moves that every mon gets pretty much is
  474. #Piexplode: rest/sleep talk/toxify/shield (protect clone)
  475. #Piexplode: concealed power is on most pokemon but some notably don't have it so don't worry if you want to disinclude it
  476. #Piexplode: oh substitute is on
  477. #Piexplode: pretty much every mon too
  478. +RotomPoison: ok
  479. #Piexplode: and also try and fit
  480. #Piexplode: as many terrains as you can sorta thematically squeeze onto there
  481. +RotomPoison: give me 1 to try
