personality ; xiao has many defining traits, but the two most prominent ones are her independence and her ambitiousness. from a young age, she learned from her mother that she shouldn't have to rely on anyone because she is strong enough to support herself. she's always focused on improving and working at getting better, and can be described as uptight and work absorbed because of her obsession with succeeding in her life. she feels that if she doesn't push herself to the limit, then she's not trying hard enough to succeed and she'll fail otherwise. xiao is the type of person who gets stuck on one thing for far too long, and spends too much time and energy on it -- more than its worth honestly. she has a strong belief that if you don't work hard enough for things, then you don't deserve them and cheating or taking the easy route means you might as well not have it because you didn't earn it. because of this, she's easily stressed out and always ready to snap at even the smallest thing. xiao is constantly getting annoyed at the most insignificant things, and can be very very sassy and sarcastic. she doesn't like to sugar coat things, and rather states them as they are. due to her blunt nature, she can often be perceived as rude and standoffish, even though she really isn't. when she is able to relax, though, xiao can be very expressive. she often has many creative and unique thoughts and ideas (that can often be a bit strange) that nobody gets the opportunity to hear because she only reserves them for those who are close to her. when talking about things she likes or believes in, she can be very passionate and become completely involved in the conversation that can sometimes escalate to a heated debate over the topic (that she almost always wins because of her quick wit and quirky comebacks.) she's a bit hotheaded, and often jumps to conclusions -- which never ends well due to her fiery personality. xiao would seem like the strong and silent type that takes everything seriously because of her initial uptight behavior, but really she holds a great appreciation and admiration to good senses of humor. she's the type of person who values the ones she loves more than anyone, and believes spending quality time with them is essential to living a happy life. more often than not, she can come off as a nagging and overpretentious mother. surprisingly, despite her very straightforward personality, xiao hates being the center of attention and when given the opportunity, will push the spotlight on anyone around her to avoid it herself. she loves to help people out and do spectacularly wonderful tasks, as long as she doesn't get any of the credit herself. she can be very opinionated and stern, but ultimately is a down-to-earth girl who is the embodiment of humble.

background ; xiao was born to an averagely high income family in shanghai, china, where she lived for seven years happily. she loved her parents dearly, and was probably the biggest daddy's girl you'll ever find. her father was a rich business man with many health problems, but her mother (who she took the most after) was a simple nurse at the local hospital. when she turned eight, her father died of the illness he had for most of his life, and her mother decided to move her family to korea, saying they needed a change of scenery. her four year old brother wasn't effected much by it because he couldn't recall much, but xiao dedicated herself to trying her best to succeed after that. once they moved to seoul, it was a bit challenging but overall possible for her to integrate into korean society, and despite the money left from her father, her mother (always the humble one) decided to open up a cute and cozy cafe in the middle of the bustling city. xiao was actually attending a local seoul public high school (by choice, because it was closest to her home) when she got a scholarship to the academy because of her near perfect grades. at first, she was hesitant to attend, but ultimately due to her brother's begging, she decided to. xiao wasn't exactly the most popular student at the academy, but was very happy with the two or three friends she made; she was actually a bit antisocial because of her grade oriented lifestyle.

his personality ; often coming off as cute and adorable, he likes to think he's manly but really he knows that he's not. although he doesn't seem like it initially, he is almost always caught up in sticky situations (in which he uses aegyo to get out of.) he can be very playful and flirty at times, and at others like a small and excited child. whenever he does something, whether it be wrong or simply just something, he always flashes and infuriatingly adorable eye smile (that xiao secretly loves wink wonk)

how you met ; okay so it was a normal school day and whatnot, and her first period is her favorite class, physics (ew) and she walks in all prepared to learn and stuff because she's a good student and all, and then sits down in her seat and notices this guy who looks about twelve (im sO mean urgh) sitting behind the teachers desk. she assumes that its just her teacher's son or smth, but then her teacher introduces him as their student teacher who's gonna stay with them for a while, and is taking a break from college to get hands on experience, and she's like wtf ??? he's like in elementary and looks extra stupid with that stupid grin on his face?? like can u not

> at the beginning, he's extremely fluffy and adorable, like his normal personality. he acts a bit oblivious (which is what makes him fit for the mafia wink wonK) and basically like a four year old, and the noona-donsaeng dynamic works for them even though he's older than xiao (cries because of my noona kink,,,)
> once they get to know each other better, he keeps acting the same, except he gets protective to the point of being possessive when they're around others (lmao thinking lowkey yandere because im messed up) but that doesn't really work because of xiao's personality
> when xiao discovers his illicit activities and becomes unhappy with him, he tries his best to win her over again with a bunch of cheesy and cringe worthy acts that are probably horribly cliche

> at first, she's extra annoyed with him for literally no reason and is always sighing because of how he acts. xiao seems like a fed up mother, or annoyed older sister, but she really is secretly amused and entertained by his antics.
> after they know each other for a while and he starts doing things he views as protective but she views as controlling, xiao's all like "bitch wut" and doesn't stand for it at all. she gets annoyed borderline mad, and is all like "boy if you dont" everytime he does something that makes her feel as if she's being suffocated
> when she finds out that he's part of the mafia, xiao is (very) disappointed to the point of being betrayed. first, she doesn't understand why he would involve himself in something so dangerous and so illegal when he's already set to succeed in life and is a big fluffy person who doesn't seem like they would be in the mafia in the first place. she's understandably upset that their whole relationship is built upon a lie, especially when you consider that honesty is one of the things she values above everything else.
