  1. First 15 songs are a few of best known Turkish Rock music - most of them are from last 15 years and some of them are rock covers of songs from other Turkish music genres such as Tukish Folk Music or older mainstream Turkish pop.

  3. The following 4 songs are most famous examples of Anatolian Rock. They contain melodies from both rock music and Turkish folk music. Most of them are composed in 1960-1980 time interval.

  5. The song Gündüz Gece by Pentagram is metal cover of famous Turkish folk poet Aşık Veysel's (1894-1973) Gündüz Gece song.

  7. Following two songs (Yolla and Sen Olsan Bari) are examples of current mainstream pop music in Turkey.

  9. Following two are the examples of Turkish Art Music ("Türk Sanat Müziği" in Turkish) which is a very old genre dating back to Ottomans. The song Yine Bir Gül Nihal is composed in the end of 18th century, influenced by Waltz music.

  11. Çökertme is a famous example of Turkish folk music made in Aegea region.

  13. Genç Osman is a famous song of Ottoman Military Band called "Mehter". It is the earliest military band known and influenced many famous musicians including Mozart and Beethoven. Following Turkish March by Mozart is an example of this.

  15. Once I read that when Dave Brubeck came Turkey for a trip, he liked the street musicians and impressed by Turkish music, after that composed the Blue Rondo a la Turk.

  17. Also when Joe Satriani came to Turkey for giving a concert, the man who organized the concert gave Satriani a CD album of Aşık Veysel. After Satriani listened to that, he composed Asik Vaysel (name has a typo because producer of album spelled it wrong when they are printing album covers) and Andalusia - which contains Turkish melodies.

  19. And the last two songs of DJ Mahmut Orhan are good examples of Turkish club music (containing Turkish instruments like "bağlama") , which has got very popular worldwide (especially in Europe) last year.
