  1. (5:58:19 PM) Twib: Feel free to describe how you enter Fuyuki City, Kayneth El-Melloi - describe your first steps to /Victory./
  2. (5:58:40 PM) Watashiwa: Well, the first steps to victory don't come in Fuyuki City.
  3. (5:58:46 PM) Watashiwa: Ooooh, no.
  4. (5:58:47 PM) Twib: Oh?
  5. (5:58:54 PM) Twib: Oh hoh!
  6. (5:58:55 PM) Watashiwa: This story has to start in London.
  7. (5:59:14 PM) Watashiwa: Once upon a time, there was the bravest, smartest, best looking magus that ever was.
  8. (5:59:20 PM) Watashiwa: His name was Kayneth.
  9. (5:59:55 PM) Watashiwa: Kayneth came from a long line of magi, and with each generation they got smarter and better.
  10. (6:00:12 PM) Watashiwa: Closer to achieving the dream of all magi, reaching the Root.
  11. (6:00:33 PM) Watashiwa: Exactly what the Root is actually good for isn't really important.
  12. (6:00:43 PM) Watashiwa: I doubt most magi think that far.
  13. (6:01:00 PM) Twib: And neither does Kayneth, apparently!
  14. (6:01:26 PM) Watashiwa: It's enough to show tell them a story, suggest obliquely that magic comes from this place and watch them go.
  15. (6:01:54 PM) Watashiwa: (Should be a foreward space between show and tell)
  16. (6:03:15 PM) Watashiwa: Anyway, Kayneth grew up knowing that he was special.
  17. (6:03:53 PM) Watashiwa: And then when he was 14 his father was hit with a Sealing Designation.
  18. (6:03:55 PM) Twib: How special?
  19. (6:04:01 PM) Twib: Ooooh.
  20. (6:04:54 PM) Watashiwa: How special? Good question. His family had been magi for nine generations; hundreds of years since a mage's average life expectancy isn't bad when they're not fucking with True Ancestors.
  21. (6:04:59 PM) Watashiwa: Or Dead Apostles.
  22. (6:05:03 PM) Watashiwa: Or the church.
  23. (6:05:06 PM) Watashiwa: Or each other.
  24. (6:05:11 PM) Watashiwa: Uhhhh.
  25. (6:05:14 PM) Watashiwa: Hm.
  26. (6:05:42 PM) Watashiwa: Well, the fact that there had BEEN nine generations of El-Mellois was proof that they were special.
  27. (6:05:43 PM) Twib: Just 'Special', then?
  28. (6:05:50 PM) Twib: Indeed.
  29. (6:06:03 PM) Watashiwa: A Sealing Designation is an awful thing.
  30. (6:06:57 PM) Watashiwa: It means that a magus' research has been declared so groundbreaking and important to magecraft as a whole that not a single bit of it could be afforded to be lost.
  31. (6:07:24 PM) Twib: You'd think that'd be a /good/ thing but nope.
  32. (6:07:46 PM) Watashiwa: A mage with a sealing designation has a choice: submit to the Association or go rogue.
  33. (6:08:37 PM) Watashiwa: If you submit, you're locked in isolation for the rest of your life, your every move there observed and dissected.
  34. (6:08:53 PM) Watashiwa: And once you die, you're dissected.
  35. (6:09:23 PM) Watashiwa: If you're lucky your extended family is merely kept under observation for a generation or two.
  36. (6:09:34 PM) Watashiwa: The other choice is going rogue.
  37. (6:11:04 PM) Watashiwa: Throwing aside every connection you have and fleeing to parts unknown, shedding morality and any chance of being able to fit into any society, magical or otherwise.
  38. (6:11:57 PM) Watashiwa: *in a desperate attempt to survive and reach the Root before your capture or destruction.
  39. (6:12:00 PM) Watashiwa: Kayneth's father chose to reject both options.
  40. (6:12:14 PM) Watashiwa: He destroyed his research.
  41. (6:12:23 PM) Twib: Wait, for serious?
  42. (6:13:21 PM) Watashiwa: When the Enforcers came for him they found nothing but ashes remaining of his papers and the fruits of his research destroyed.
  43. (6:14:00 PM) Watashiwa: Nothing was found of the man himself except his melted remains.
  44. (6:15:11 PM) Watashiwa: He had used the acids he so prized in his Alchemical research to deny the mage's association any benefit from his study.
  45. (6:16:14 PM) Watashiwa: Kayneth's family were held in captivity for nearly a year, interrogated constantly for any scrap of knowledge.
  46. (6:18:02 PM) Watashiwa: Eventually they were let go. After all, there was simply no way for the knowledge to have been transmitted, and since Kayneth's father was decidedly old fashioned in his attitude towards magic society, his eldest son's full initiation had yet to begin.
  47. (6:18:52 PM) Watashiwa: They failed to recognize the remains of the cellular phone the old Lord Melloi had used to contact Kayneth.
  48. (6:19:52 PM) Twib: /Cellular/ - /technology/ in the hands of a magus?
  49. (6:19:54 PM) Watashiwa: (fun fact: cell phones were commercially available in 1983!)
  50. (6:19:54 PM) Twib: Disgusting.
  51. (6:20:08 PM) Watashiwa: Ahh, but to the truly paranoid old wizard....
  52. (6:22:28 PM) Watashiwa: Anyway, Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi seemed unchanged by his family's ordeal.
  53. (6:22:29 PM) Twib: To the truly paranoid old wizard?
  54. (6:22:37 PM) Twib: Duly noted.
  55. (6:23:51 PM) Watashiwa: Well, to the truly paranoid old wizard, anything is better than losing everything you have to a jealous cabal of men you've hated all your adult life.
  56. (6:24:45 PM) Watashiwa: Kayneth was still a genius, still in possession of the vast majority of his family's crest, still a bright star in the Mage Association.
  57. (6:27:16 PM) Watashiwa: His father's unfortunate passing was quickly forgotten about by people who desperately wanted to convince everyone looking at them that they weren't more upset about being unable to rip the El-Melloi family's secrets out of the family head's soul than the fact that they had driven him to what he did.
  58. (6:28:13 PM) Watashiwa: But certain of those who had voted to enforce the Sealing Designation retired sooner than they might have.
  59. (6:28:35 PM) Watashiwa: Other met accidents that Archibald absolutely, 100% certainly could not have been involved in.
  60. (6:30:05 PM) Watashiwa: And others were informed in no uncertain circumstances that if they ever made a notable discovery that they would find a Sealing Designation enforced on them.
  61. (6:30:28 PM) Watashiwa: And Kayneth remembered the words of his father.
  62. (6:32:31 PM) Twib: What were the words of his father?
  63. (6:34:55 PM) Watashiwa: "Be deliberate. Be careful in your work and dealings and be more afraid of the cost of speed than the cost of slowness. One step after another is safer than a run when you walk the path of death."
  64. (6:35:40 PM) Watashiwa: Years passed.
  65. (6:35:44 PM) Watashiwa: Nearly ten in fact.
  66. (6:36:01 PM) Watashiwa: And Archibald found three red marks growing on his right hand.
  67. (6:36:59 PM) Watashiwa: He knew what it meant, and made plans to summon a knight famous around the world to serve as his champion.
  68. (6:38:56 PM) Watashiwa: A student of his stole the emblem he planned to use to summon the First of the Paladins of Charlemagne.
  69. (6:39:22 PM) Watashiwa: Unfortunate perhaps, but Archibald was not entirely displeased.
  70. (6:40:16 PM) Watashiwa: He now knew the identity of this war's Rider, which would lend him no small advantage in defeating that Servant.
  71. (6:41:06 PM) Watashiwa: And another Servant had occurred to him, one perhaps even better suited to his skills and temperament.
  72. (6:43:36 PM) Watashiwa: He had gathered certain herbs together, poisons and hallucinogenics and things with even stranger properties. These he had cooked for some time, a full year as it happened.
  73. (6:44:43 PM) Watashiwa: Taking the concoction he drew a circle and spoke words of calling and binding, and of promises of partnership for a great prize.
  74. (6:44:54 PM) Watashiwa: And he called me forth.
  75. (6:44:57 PM) Watashiwa: My name is Taliesin, meaning "fair brow" in the Welsh I spoke. I ask of you: Are you my master?
  76. (6:45:55 PM) Watashiwa: And that's my introduction, Twib.
  77. (6:46:05 PM) Twib: (Ohohohohoh. Interesting.)
  78. (6:46:17 PM) Twib: (I can roll with this. Give me a sec to eat, though. Dinner.)
  79. (6:46:46 PM) Watashiwa: Oh, I'm off.
  80. (6:46:52 PM) Watashiwa: That's why I ended on that note.
  81. (6:53:17 PM) Watashiwa: All right, I'm off. Post commentary when you're done. I'll be back in an hour I hope.
  82. (8:20:04 PM) Watashiwa: twib: Back
  83. (8:34:27 PM) Watashiwa: hahahahaha
  84. (8:34:43 PM) Watashiwa: I think the best part is I haven't mentioned to Latewave that I'm the extra player. xD
  85. (8:35:26 PM) Twib: I KNOW.
  86. (8:35:58 PM) Watashiwa: =D
  87. (8:36:02 PM) Watashiwa: Oh my god this is the best.\
  88. (8:36:31 PM) Twib: If Latewave joins I'm not telling you shit. :P
  89. (8:36:42 PM) Twib: Everyone gets info on someone else!
  90. (8:49:45 PM) Watashiwa: So, what's Latewave up to?
  91. (8:50:49 PM) Twib: Not telling. :P
  92. (8:50:57 PM) Watashiwa: sigh
  93. (8:55:59 PM) Twib: But he /is/ in.
  94. (8:56:10 PM) Twib: And he's come up with a hilarius choice.
  95. (8:56:24 PM) Watashiwa: Oh?
  96. (8:56:26 PM) Watashiwa: Someone I know?
  97. (8:59:03 PM) Twib: Perhaps!
  98. (8:59:06 PM) Twib: But, for now.
  99. (8:59:07 PM) Watashiwa: shit
  100. (8:59:13 PM) Watashiwa: Kintoki Douji?
  101. (8:59:52 PM) Twib: Not telling. :P Find out in character!
  102. (8:59:56 PM) Twib: Are you ready to start?
  103. (9:00:20 PM) Watashiwa: Almost
  104. (9:00:32 PM) Watashiwa: Give me 30s
  105. (9:00:51 PM) Twib: Alrighty.
  106. (9:01:14 PM) Watashiwa: need to move spots and plug in laptop
  107. (9:05:49 PM) Twib: Let me know when you're ready.
  108. (9:10:25 PM) Watashiwa: Sorry, friend called.
  109. (9:10:37 PM) Twib: Absolutely no worries.
  110. (9:21:56 PM) Watashiwa: augh
  111. (9:21:57 PM) Watashiwa: Sorry
  112. (9:21:59 PM) Watashiwa: Back
  113. (9:24:11 PM) Twib: Again, no worries.
  114. (9:24:21 PM) Watashiwa: So, I'm ready.
  115. (9:24:29 PM) Twib: Just to make things clear, though - I'd much prefer you to play /as/ El-melloi, and not as the Servant.
  116. (9:24:37 PM) Watashiwa: Yes I know
  117. (9:24:40 PM) Twib: It makes things much easier for me to rein in. Is that fine?
  118. (9:24:42 PM) Twib: Oh good.
  119. (9:24:44 PM) Twib: PHEW.
  120. (9:24:49 PM) Watashiwa: The story that Taliesin told is his monologue
  121. (9:24:53 PM) Watashiwa: After being summoned.
  122. (9:25:01 PM) Twib: Duly noted!
  123. (9:25:08 PM) Watashiwa: He's demonstrating his skill as a storyteller
  124. (9:25:12 PM) Watashiwa: And one of his skills.
  125. (9:27:48 PM) Twib: Duly noted. Excuse me while I help my Cousin's birthday party prep.
  126. (9:27:51 PM) Twib: ><
  127. (9:28:37 PM) Watashiwa: >.>
  128. (9:31:21 PM) Twib: ALRIGHTY.
  129. (9:31:29 PM) Twib: Your quest awaits, Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi II.
  130. (9:31:30 PM) Twib: Your servant to /be,/ your sword and shield - awaits.
  131. (9:31:32 PM) Twib: Your rivals and enemies stand against you.
  132. (9:31:33 PM) Twib: And what legends will they tell of you, on the Nights that Fate Stood Still?
  133. (9:32:14 PM) Twib: It is the first day of the Grail War of Fuyuki. You have just entered the city's territory, with Taliesin, incorporeal, beside you.
  134. (9:32:50 PM) Twib: You know from your studies that it is proper procedure to let the Administrator of the War know who you are, and your Servant's Class, but - well, just because one should does not mean one must.
  135. (9:33:47 PM) Watashiwa: Hmm. Well, ultimately it's only POLITE.
  136. (9:34:20 PM) Watashiwa: And it's not like they don't already know who I am and what I'm (probably) capable of.
  137. (9:35:05 PM) Twib: Indeed. But that does give you a good amount of light to prepare yourself for this War. What will you do?
  138. (9:35:27 PM) Twib: If nothing else, it might be prudent to rent a room - but staying incognito has its own benefits.
  139. (9:36:02 PM) Watashiwa: Not really.
  140. (9:36:36 PM) Watashiwa: The three families all have home bases here, so they have already established covers for the identities of their masters.
  141. (9:36:56 PM) Watashiwa: When notables such as I arrive in Fuyuki it can only be for one reason.
  142. (9:38:07 PM) Twib: True. A hotel room, then?
  143. (9:39:37 PM) Watashiwa: Probably for the best.
  144. (9:39:57 PM) Watashiwa: In fact, I'll take two.
  145. (9:40:35 PM) Watashiwa: One for defensive purposes and another bolt-hole.
  146. (9:41:36 PM) Watashiwa: The bolt hole should look like Kiri's
  147. (9:41:49 PM) Watashiwa: Except fewer guns and more alchemical explosives
  148. (9:42:42 PM) Twib: Who's Kiri?
  149. (9:43:04 PM) Twib: Have you /studied/ possible other Masters, Lord El-Melloi?
  150. (9:43:25 PM) Watashiwa: Kiritsugu
  151. (9:44:12 PM) Watashiwa: And tried.
  152. (9:44:51 PM) Watashiwa: My knowledge is regarding Tokiomi, Zouken and Acht.
  153. (9:45:00 PM) Watashiwa: I am however familiar with Kiritsugu.
  154. (9:45:18 PM) Twib: A smart move. In a war like this, Knolwedge is power.
  155. (9:45:39 PM) Watashiwa: Oh, I also know Waver.
  156. (9:46:07 PM) Twib: As you set up your bases, night begins to fall. the Magical Boundaries of an Atelier are hard and long to produce, after all.
  157. (9:46:21 PM) Watashiwa: Understandably.
  158. (9:46:54 PM) Watashiwa: Hmm
  159. (9:47:03 PM) Watashiwa: I'd like to set up an alchemical false trail.
  160. (9:47:31 PM) Twib: Taliesen whispers into your ear, as you finish up your work. It seems Trabadours have a form of Independant Action - no doubt to mimic their habits of travel. "It seems the first festivities of the War have begun, Master. A house in one of the Residential Districts has burned down - and the fire refuses to spread, or be put out."
  161. (9:47:39 PM) Twib: Oh? what kind of false trail?
  162. (9:47:43 PM) Watashiwa: Using my blood and some small familiars I'm going to spread traces of my presence all around town,
  163. (9:48:02 PM) Watashiwa: The end result is that people looking for me have multiple false leads
  164. (9:48:20 PM) Watashiwa: Some attached to people, others to hotel rooms or trains.
  165. (9:48:42 PM) Watashiwa: There are a few that flicker on and off in proximity to one another, giving the impression of movement.
  166. (9:49:23 PM) Twib: I see.
  167. (9:49:48 PM) Twib: Your familiars spread out, beginning their trail laying - but, it will take a while before you see the fruits of your efforts.
  168. (9:50:25 PM) Twib: In the meantime, you are now aware of something strange going on in town - Troubadour has told you of the house with the continual flame.
  169. (9:50:34 PM) Watashiwa: Hmm.
  170. (9:50:54 PM) Watashiwa: Residential district is on which side?
  171. (9:52:35 PM) Twib: On the side of the Temple.
  172. (9:52:40 PM) Twib: ...And the Emiya Residence.
  173. (9:52:49 PM) Watashiwa: Hmm
  174. (9:52:50 PM) Twib: ...and the Tohsaka Residence.
  175. (9:52:55 PM) Twib: ...And the Matou Residence.
  176. (9:53:06 PM) Watashiwa: I think I'll ask Troubadour to scry for us.
  177. (9:53:15 PM) Watashiwa: He DOES have the gift of divination after all.
  178. (9:53:22 PM) Twib: It could be a leftover sign of the Three Founding Families to strike.
  179. (9:53:52 PM) Watashiwa: Right, which is why I ask Troubadour to whip us up some magic to watch the show.
  180. (9:53:55 PM) Twib: Indeed. And yet. "Master, divination is - quite the chore. Let us gallivant into the night, and see the unfolding stories with our own two eyes!"
  181. (9:54:31 PM) Watashiwa: Oh, very well. Just in case though I'll bring along a telescope.
  182. (9:55:06 PM) Watashiwa: Keeping the bard away from the action would be detrimental to a working relationship.
  183. (9:55:13 PM) Watashiwa: Best we both go incognito.
  184. (9:55:30 PM) Watashiwa: He should pretend to be...hm.
  185. (9:56:15 PM) Twib: "Ahahaha, good, good, a wonderful Master I have for these nights! And I thought you'd be like Morgana - or worse, Merlin!"
  186. (9:56:30 PM) Watashiwa: Would be my preference, perhaps.
  187. (9:56:52 PM) Watashiwa: But keeping a teller of tales away from developing tales would be quite the chore.
  188. (9:57:09 PM) Twib: Indeed, indeed. So, who shall he go as?
  189. (9:57:13 PM) Watashiwa: Hmm
  190. (9:57:18 PM) Watashiwa: One of the knight errants
  191. (9:58:32 PM) Watashiwa: Oh god, who was the knight following the monster?
  192. (9:58:35 PM) Watashiwa: AH
  193. (9:58:38 PM) Watashiwa: Pellinore!
  194. (9:59:41 PM) Watashiwa: oh
  195. (9:59:44 PM) Watashiwa: Real quick
  196. (9:59:54 PM) Twib: Hmm?
  197. (9:59:56 PM) Watashiwa: If I ask Taliesin to hide me, can he?
  198. (10:00:04 PM) Watashiwa: Er, transform myself?
  199. (10:00:54 PM) Twib: Of course! It is not as powerful as his own illusions, but if you know the story, and he knows as well, you can mask your presence with that of another, for a period of time.
  200. (10:01:01 PM) Watashiwa: excellent
  201. (10:01:23 PM) Watashiwa: Make me Sir Kay.
  202. (10:01:49 PM) Watashiwa: Or no, lets not be double Servants.
  203. (10:01:53 PM) Watashiwa: Just disguise me.
  204. (10:02:49 PM) Twib: Then as he was Pellinore, you shall be his attendant!
  205. (10:03:15 PM) Watashiwa: Sounds good.
  206. (10:03:26 PM) Twib: You can feel the power of his Noble Phantasm drape over you, like a cloak. Though you look no different to your own eyes, you can feel his magecraft affect you.
  207. (10:03:47 PM) Twib: And you're off to see the Wizards, the Wonderful Wizards of The Grail War!
  208. (10:03:59 PM) Twib: Do you beeline directly for the fire, or stay your distance and look around?
  209. (10:04:25 PM) Watashiwa: Hmm
  210. (10:04:47 PM) Watashiwa: If Taliesin has some kind of presence detection it's probably best to hang back a bit
  211. (10:05:47 PM) Twib: You stop, a few buildings away from the fire!
  212. (10:06:00 PM) Twib: The sheer power emenating from it is unmistakable - a Servant was here.
  213. (10:06:21 PM) Watashiwa: Whelp.
  214. (10:06:32 PM) Watashiwa: Wait, I can sense that a Servant was involved?
  215. (10:06:35 PM) Watashiwa: hfs
  216. (10:08:52 PM) Twib: A Servant, or something of that nature - the mana is far too dense for it to be a regular spell. Even Cornelius Alba would not be capable of such a feat without a ritual or two to contain things.
  217. (10:11:13 PM) Watashiwa1: That was BULLSHIT.
  218. (10:13:06 PM) Twib: What is bullshit?
  219. (10:13:16 PM) Watashiwa1: Sorry, my connection just cut
  220. (10:13:29 PM) Watashiwa: There
  221. (10:15:17 PM) Twib: Watashiwa Wait, I can sense that a Servant was involved?
  222. (10:15:19 PM) Twib: Watashiwa hfs
  223. (10:15:22 PM) Twib: Twib A Servant, or something of that nature - the mana is far too dense for it to be a regular spell. Even Cornelius Alba would not be capable of such a feat without a ritual or two to contain things.
  224. (10:16:34 PM) Watashiwa: got it
  225. (10:16:36 PM) Watashiwa: Thanks
  226. (10:18:15 PM) Twib: Do you plan to wait there longer? If nothing else, other SErvants might approach the scene.
  227. (10:18:21 PM) Twib: That could be a good thing - or the bad.
  228. (10:18:35 PM) Watashiwa: Withdraw and observe.
  229. (10:18:39 PM) Watashiwa: Find a cafe, order drinks.
  230. (10:18:47 PM) Watashiwa: It's not like we'll be recognized.
  231. (10:21:10 PM) Twib: You're about to leave the roof when Taliesan stops you, a sad frown on his Kingly visage. "My apologies, Master, but I fear the...jetlag, has addled you. It is far past midnight, now - most of the shops are closed."
  232. (10:21:30 PM) Watashiwa: Fine, a bar then.
  233. (10:22:12 PM) Watashiwa: and if Fuyuki's a major city it probably does have a few late night coffeeshops.
  234. (10:22:20 PM) Watashiwa: Fair point though, I thought it was morning.
  235. (10:22:55 PM) Twib: Aye, but I told you that the setup for your bases took a while - long enough to hit night.
  236. (10:23:02 PM) Twib: And a bit beyond.
  237. (10:23:13 PM) Twib: This causes him to smile. "A Master who knows how to drink? Perfect, perfect indeed - I believe not my luck!" As you two begin to leave, however - you see someone in the distance, approaching the fire.
  238. (10:26:00 PM) Watashiwa: Telescope time!
  239. (10:26:07 PM) Watashiwa: Hand it to Taliesin when I'm done.
  240. (10:27:14 PM) Twib: You see - well, you see a man, in mage robes. He looks - quite familiar, actually.
  241. (10:27:22 PM) Twib: Almost like a student you've had.
  242. (10:27:26 PM) Watashiwa: Almost?
  243. (10:27:42 PM) Twib: It's far too dark, and far too far, for you to be perfectly sure.
  244. (10:28:03 PM) Twib: But, when Taliesen looks - he chuckles. "I spy a familiar face, Master, though he hides his own."
  245. (10:28:37 PM) Watashiwa: Oho? That sounds promising. Another Welshman in the war?
  246. (10:28:56 PM) Watashiwa: Who is it?
  247. (10:29:48 PM) Twib: "I can not say for sure, only that I've met him before. He seeks to hide his own self, and my divinations to break through the Servant Incorporeality would take much time."
  248. (10:30:17 PM) Watashiwa: Hmm....
  249. (10:30:38 PM) Watashiwa: Think it's a knight? I might have a way to get him to show himself....
  250. (10:31:12 PM) Twib: "As the proverbs say - Now or Never. The man is leaving as we speak."
  251. (10:31:18 PM) Watashiwa: I arm one of my alchemical bombs and have a familiar carry it down the side of the building.
  252. (10:31:28 PM) Watashiwa: Then it suicide charges them from behind.
  253. (10:31:54 PM) Watashiwa: It only charges once it's down on the ground and nearer the middle of the street.
  254. (10:34:12 PM) Twib: The man doesn't seem to react - but right before it makes contact -
  255. (10:34:36 PM) Twib: A Knight, in Shining Armor, suddenly appears, smacking familiar and bomb away as though it were but a ball!
  256. (10:34:46 PM) Watashiwa: Tennis knight?
  257. (10:35:01 PM) Twib: Your Troubadour laughs with glee. "Gawain! Gawain is here, ahahahah! This is /perfect"!
  258. (10:35:19 PM) Twib: Tennis Knight. It's flying right back down the street.
  259. (10:35:38 PM) Watashiwa: HAHAHAHA IT IS TENNIS KNIGHT!
  260. (10:35:45 PM) Watashiwa: http://www.lib.rochester.edu/camelot/teams/turkfrm.htm No no no, Tennis Knight!
  261. (10:35:54 PM) Watashiwa: ctrl + F tennis
  262. (10:36:26 PM) Twib: Ahahahaha.
  263. (10:37:04 PM) Twib: Indeed. It is Gawain, TENNIS KNIGHT.
  264. (10:37:35 PM) Watashiwa: So. Gawain is Saber here?
  265. (10:37:37 PM) Watashiwa: Shit.
  266. (10:37:52 PM) Twib: The man continues to walk away, Gawain's sword at the ready to block and protect.
  267. (10:38:02 PM) Twib: Will you press your attack, or leave off?
  268. (10:38:11 PM) Watashiwa: Leave off.
  269. (10:38:17 PM) Watashiwa: They've already revealed themselves.
  270. (10:38:35 PM) Watashiwa: And they have to be expecting a follow-up
  271. (10:38:37 PM) Twib: Well, they leave, and you stay.
  272. (10:38:42 PM) Twib: But.
  273. (10:38:46 PM) Watashiwa: But?
  274. (10:39:16 PM) Twib: Troubadour hums in thought. "It is odd - Gawain loved his blade Galatine, and yet he is wielding a basic, normal sword, with only the slightest of enchantments."
  275. (10:39:55 PM) Twib: "I have the ability to disguise myself - and Gawain would not relinquish Excalibur without good reason. Perhaps...we have another master of disguise?"
  276. (10:40:08 PM) Twib: "But, no, I was sure it was one of the Knights..."
  277. (10:40:49 PM) Watashiwa: Wait what?
  278. (10:41:15 PM) Watashiwa: That IS odd.
  279. (10:41:43 PM) Twib: Indeed it is.
  280. (10:41:57 PM) Twib: Of some note, it seems that the Servant here was not involved with the fire.
  281. (10:42:11 PM) Twib: Perhaps he was investigating, like yourself.
  282. (10:42:19 PM) Watashiwa: Can Troubadour think of other shapeshifters who might be able to replicate Gawain well enough to fool him?
  283. (10:42:45 PM) Watashiwa: If that's the case then it has to be somehow Taliesin know, since Taliesin is a master shapeshifter
  284. (10:43:29 PM) Twib: "...Perhaps Merlin, or Le Fey..but they would not know how to wield a blade."
  285. (10:43:49 PM) Watashiwa: Could explain why they didn't have Galatine.
  286. (10:43:51 PM) Twib: "Perhaps it /is/ Gawain, then, and he's simply - /lost/ Galatine, somehow? Or - no, could it be?"
  287. (10:44:09 PM) Watashiwa: Could it be that...?
  288. (10:44:13 PM) Twib: "Perhaps it is Mordred, the Traitor Knight."
  289. (10:44:29 PM) Twib: "But...though it makes the most sense, it does not feel - right, to me, Master.
  290. (10:44:31 PM) Twib: "
  291. (10:44:53 PM) Watashiwa: I'm shocked you think you could mistake the most loyal of Arthur's knights for the bastard betrayer.
  292. (10:44:58 PM) Watashiwa: Have more faith.
  293. (10:45:38 PM) Watashiwa: Don't you think that it's most likely your intuitive claim is correct?
  294. (10:46:03 PM) Watashiwa: If it worries you we can always mark their path.
  295. (10:46:52 PM) Twib: "It worries me indeed. Let us follow them, my Master. Stay back, in case. A knight's blade, no matter who, is a horrid thing to face."
  296. (10:49:01 PM) Twib: Will you follow?
  297. (10:49:12 PM) Watashiwa: Why not?
  298. (10:49:25 PM) Twib: You follow, taking the rooftops!
  299. (10:49:31 PM) Watashiwa: I might be able to ID the Master.
  300. (10:49:45 PM) Twib: And, halfway through, the man waves in your general direction, and says "Hello, there."
  301. (10:50:09 PM) Twib: He's noticed you - perhaps that first attack has made obvious your fighting presence. And yet, he does not take any action.
  302. (10:50:13 PM) Watashiwa: Interesting. Was Gawain capable of Presence Detection?
  303. (10:51:06 PM) Twib: Gawain is with him, still, blade ever ready.
  304. (10:51:17 PM) Twib: Not that you know of - but, all Knights were famed for their Instincts.
  305. (10:51:21 PM) Watashiwa: Hmmm.
  306. (10:51:23 PM) Watashiwa: Oh.
  307. (10:51:25 PM) Watashiwa: OH.
  308. (10:51:28 PM) Twib: That coupled with the earlier attack, has, perhaps, made them on guard.
  309. (10:51:31 PM) Watashiwa: Let's really give him a scare.
  310. (10:51:47 PM) Watashiwa: Have Taliesin transform me into Kiritsugu.
  311. (10:52:18 PM) Watashiwa: Doesn't have to be a good transformation.
  312. (10:52:31 PM) Twib: Are you sure this is wise?
  313. (10:52:39 PM) Watashiwa: No.
  314. (10:52:47 PM) Twib: Taliesen, regardless, begins the transformation anew!
  315. (10:52:48 PM) Watashiwa: actually wait
  316. (10:52:52 PM) Twib: You can - oh?
  317. (10:53:00 PM) Watashiwa: Have him quick scan the area
  318. (10:53:23 PM) Watashiwa: Any other Servants or masters around?
  319. (10:53:37 PM) Twib: Troubadour leaves the area, seeking any scrap or morsel of story!
  320. (10:53:42 PM) Watashiwa: This he should be able to do, he's got the whole knowledge and winds thing.
  321. (10:53:53 PM) Twib: And - well, there are tons of information.
  322. (10:54:19 PM) Watashiwa: Right, but in the area? After the fire?
  323. (10:54:21 PM) Twib: He can sense Two Servant-like powers, and two magi, it seems, crossing the Big Bridge.
  324. (10:54:27 PM) Watashiwa: Okay
  325. (10:54:33 PM) Twib: There is the people you are following, of course.
  326. (10:54:40 PM) Twib: A Servant in the Tohsaka Manor.
  327. (10:54:45 PM) Twib: A Servant in the Matou Manor.
  328. (10:54:53 PM) Twib: Curiously, the Emiya Residence is still empty.
  329. (10:55:00 PM) Watashiwa: Hmm
  330. (10:55:01 PM) Twib: And - well.
  331. (10:55:06 PM) Watashiwa: Probably didn't get a slot.
  332. (10:55:14 PM) Watashiwa: (=P)
  333. (10:55:24 PM) Twib: It seems a SErvant's just been summoned, in the Woods near the Temple.
  334. (10:55:31 PM) Watashiwa: Oho?
  335. (10:55:42 PM) Watashiwa: Okay, now this is promising.
  336. (10:56:43 PM) Watashiwa: I am now tempted.
  337. (10:56:50 PM) Watashiwa: To completely fuck that person up.
  338. (10:57:07 PM) Watashiwa: Have Taliesin transform into Lancelot.
  339. (10:57:24 PM) Watashiwa: Drop in front of Gawain and demand immediate satisfaction in the woods
  340. (10:57:39 PM) Watashiwa: Run to the woods
  341. (10:57:47 PM) Twib: As Taliesin begins his transformation, the magus says aloud again.
  342. (10:57:52 PM) Watashiwa: And when Gawain arrives, yell "Now!"
  343. (10:57:58 PM) Twib: "Would you two like a bite to eat? I'll pay."
  344. (10:58:03 PM) Watashiwa: And watch both go at it.
  345. (10:58:19 PM) Watashiwa: hmm
  346. (10:58:23 PM) Twib: And - that stops Taliesin in his tracks. "Damn. Master, he has offered us - hospitality."
  347. (10:58:32 PM) Watashiwa: Dammit.
  348. (10:59:00 PM) Watashiwa: oh goddamn it that's actually clever
  349. (10:59:12 PM) Twib: Troubadour clicks his tongue. "I understand that this is a war, but - all the same, as a Bard, I can not run my blade through him. At least, not tonight."
  350. (10:59:19 PM) Watashiwa: Well
  351. (10:59:25 PM) Watashiwa: I don't want you and him fighting.
  352. (10:59:32 PM) Watashiwa: I'd like him and the new Servant fighting.
  353. (10:59:48 PM) Watashiwa: Servants are rarely slain in the first night of the war.
  354. (11:00:11 PM) Watashiwa: Gawain's hatred for Lancelot du Lac is legendary.
  355. (11:00:56 PM) Watashiwa: Become him, lead Gawain to the spot where you felt the new Servant, and convince both sides that they've been led into a trap.
  356. (11:01:13 PM) Watashiwa: Withdraw and observe.
  357. (11:01:21 PM) Watashiwa: We can make it up to both of them.
  358. (11:01:31 PM) Watashiwa: Gift baskets are traditional, I understand.
  359. (11:02:13 PM) Twib: "...If you say so, My Master. If nothing else - it will be entertaining to watch."
  360. (11:02:43 PM) Watashiwa: Oh, is it still objectionable?
  361. (11:04:03 PM) Twib: "A tad. But Troubadours are known for their trickery!"
  362. (11:04:39 PM) Twib: You see the face of Percival fade away - and turn into the black, glowing armor of the French Knight.
  363. (11:05:22 PM) Watashiwa: =D
  364. (11:05:26 PM) Watashiwa: This is going to be so awesome.
  365. (11:08:13 PM) Watashiwa1: aaaaaaaaaaaa
  366. (11:08:57 PM) Twib: Twib Just as the man begins to leave, leaving a standing invitation for a meal - 'Lancelot' jumps down, crushing the concrete before him.
  367. (11:08:58 PM) Twib: Twib "GAWAAAIN! I. LANCELOT DU LAC, DEMAND REPARATIONS!"
  368. (11:09:00 PM) Twib: Twib The Master - well, he runs the fuck away.
  369. (11:09:02 PM) Twib: As for Gawain - he stabs his sword straight into the ground, on both knees, almost in a begging position.
  370. (11:09:14 PM) Watashiwa1: That's not a bad strategy for the master.
  371. (11:09:29 PM) Watashiwa1: He's lucky I'm not partnered with Assassin. >.>
  372. (11:09:40 PM) Twib: "And Lancelot, Knight of The Realm, Lover of Guinevere - you have every right to those Reparations."
  373. (11:09:55 PM) Watashiwa1: wait whut
  374. (11:10:01 PM) Watashiwa1: Dude
  375. (11:10:05 PM) Watashiwa1: Gawain hates Lancelot
  376. (11:10:40 PM) Twib: And yet, he continues. "I only ask - I /beg,/ my fellow Knight - that you can find it in your heart to forgive me, for, despite these years - I can not forgive you."
  377. (11:11:09 PM) Twib: (Do recall in Fate Extra that his entire sthick is that he feels bad for not being able to forgive Lancelot, thus causing Arthur's downfall.)
  378. (11:11:22 PM) Watashiwa1: Forgiveness is meted out on the battlefield! Let battle decide which of us has the right to forgiveness for our betrayal!
  379. (11:12:26 PM) Twib: Gawain stands, shudders - pulls his blade from the ground, and stands in a defensive stance. "I - I cannot. Not yet. I have duties, my old friend - please, could you not wait, for a while longer?"
  380. (11:13:13 PM) Watashiwa: You would dishonor the king your lord to refuse an honorable challenge?!
  381. (11:13:48 PM) Watashiwa: For shame Gawain I wash my hands of thee!
  382. (11:14:06 PM) Watashiwa: When next we meet shall be no honorable battle!
  383. (11:14:57 PM) Twib: Gawain curses, as he draws his blade. "You would /dare/ accuse me of dishonoring my King, when only now, in the hereafter, I try to seek his desire for peace!?"
  384. (11:15:19 PM) Twib: " /You/ are the scum of villany, knave! Be you a KNIGHT or a MONSTER!?"
  385. (11:17:39 PM) Watashiwa: Hah, so there be honor in you after all! To the woods once-friend, so that we may battle to our heart's content!
  386. (11:25:25 PM) Watashiwa: KILL ME
  387. (11:25:26 PM) Twib: http://www.otakuvillage.com/images/D/Fate_Stay_Night_Props_Archer_Sword_ver_01-4-05.jpg " /Mongrels!/ I care not who you are, for /I/ am Gilgamesh, King of Heroes! The time for Expository Speech is over! We will fight like /men,/ and women, and women dressed like men! HAVE AT YOU!"
  388. (11:25:37 PM) Watashiwa: aaaaaaaaAAAAAAA
  389. (11:25:41 PM) Twib: Twib "Lancelot! That presence, approaching us! Is this /your/ doing!? Do you plan to sully your warrior's honor with a cheap, pitiful ambush!?"
  390. (11:25:41 PM) Twib: Twib The talking stops.
  391. (11:25:43 PM) Twib: Twib And Lancelot looks up.
  392. (11:25:45 PM) Twib: Twib http://www.otakuvillage.com/images/D/Fate_Stay_Night_Props_Archer_Sword_ver_01-4-05.jpg " /Mongrels!/ I care not who you are, for /I/ am Gilgamesh, King of Heroes! The time for Expository Speech is over! We will fight like /men,/ and women, and women dressed like men! HAVE AT YOU!"
  393. (11:26:00 PM) Watashiwa: Dammit, that was my joke
  394. (11:26:45 PM) Twib: You notice, belatedly, that the Knight of Red is carrying a young, high school girl.
  395. (11:26:48 PM) Twib: His Master, perhaps. He lets her down, and she scurries away.
  396. (11:26:52 PM) Watashiwa: Sorry, I dropped after 1:17
  397. (11:28:24 PM) Twib: Watashiwa Hah, so there be honor in you after all! To the woods once-friend, so that we may battle to our heart's content!
  398. (11:28:25 PM) Twib: Twib There will be no need of that - you can feel the Servant of the Woods approaching.
  399. (11:28:27 PM) Twib: Twib "Lancelot! That presence, approaching us! Is this /your/ doing!? Do you plan to sully your warrior's honor with a cheap, pitiful ambush!?"
  400. (11:28:29 PM) Twib: Twib The talking stops.
  401. (11:28:31 PM) Twib: Twib And Lancelot looks up.
  402. (11:28:32 PM) Twib: Twib http://www.otakuvillage.com/images/D/Fate_Stay_Night_Props_Archer_Sword_ver_01-4-05.jpg " /Mongrels!/ I care not who you are, for /I/ am Gilgamesh, King of Heroes! The time for Expository Speech is over! We will fight like /men,/ and women, and women dressed like men! HAVE AT YOU!"
  403. (11:28:34 PM) Twib: Twib You notice, belatedly, that the Knight of Red is carrying a young, high school girl.
  404. (11:28:35 PM) Twib: Twib His Master, perhaps. He lets her down, and she scurries away.
  405. (11:28:37 PM) Twib: You didn't miss much.
  406. (11:28:39 PM) Watashiwa: Pffft.
  407. (11:28:47 PM) Watashiwa: oh god you actually did it
  408. (11:28:52 PM) Twib: Except for the huge, huge amount of infinite swords appearing behind him.
  409. (11:29:02 PM) Watashiwa: whelp I'm out
  410. (11:29:52 PM) Twib: Are you fleeing /with/ Taliesan or without?
  411. (11:30:09 PM) Watashiwa: With.
  412. (11:30:28 PM) Watashiwa: But not before dropping an observer drone.
  413. (11:30:30 PM) Watashiwa: Or two
  414. (11:30:49 PM) Twib: And how do you plan on absconding?
  415. (11:30:56 PM) Watashiwa: Quickly.
  416. (11:31:07 PM) Watashiwa: No, flashbang.
  417. (11:31:24 PM) Watashiwa: Toss it at Gawain the way Shirou did Gil.
  418. (11:31:30 PM) Twib: Bwahahaha.
  419. (11:32:20 PM) Twib: The Flashbang is tossed!
  420. (11:32:25 PM) Twib: PICHUUN-BANG!
  421. (11:32:40 PM) Twib: Screams of pain are heard aloud as you two escape.
  422. (11:32:42 PM) Watashiwa: Real quick
  423. (11:32:49 PM) Watashiwa: Give me another famous knight
  424. (11:32:57 PM) Watashiwa: Aha
  425. (11:33:05 PM) Watashiwa: "Catch Galahad!"
  426. (11:37:34 PM) Twib: You successfully flee!
  427. (11:37:43 PM) Twib: Why Catch Galahad, though/
  428. (11:37:44 PM) Twib: ?
  429. (11:38:03 PM) Watashiwa: Because now Archer's master is going to assume Gawain is Galahad.
  430. (11:38:07 PM) Watashiwa: And prepare incorrectly.
  431. (11:38:20 PM) Watashiwa: It's not like the Archer-thing is sane enough to know the difference.
  432. (11:38:33 PM) Watashiwa: He's got all the swords anyway.
  433. (11:40:10 PM) Twib: Heh.
  434. (11:40:25 PM) Watashiwa: Well
  435. (11:40:32 PM) Twib: Once you're safe, 'Lancelot' laughs with great mirth!
  436. (11:43:02 PM) Watashiwa: I suppose it depends on whether or not Halibel has enough sense to ask or if GArcher has the initiative to mention it.
  437. (11:43:13 PM) Watashiwa: aaaaaaaaaaaa
  438. (11:43:15 PM) Watashiwa: Okay
  439. (11:43:17 PM) Twib: Watashiwa It's not like the Archer-thing is sane enough to know the difference.
  440. (11:43:18 PM) Twib: Watashiwa He's got all the swords anyway.
  441. (11:43:20 PM) Twib: Twib Heh.
  442. (11:43:21 PM) Twib: Twib Once you're safe, 'Lancelot' laughs with great mirth!
  443. (11:43:23 PM) Twib: Twib "THAT WAS THE BEST THING EVER YOU ARE A GENIUS MASTER."
  444. (11:44:39 PM) Watashiwa: "One tries. I suspect we were lucky in our opponents. More hardened warriors would not have let us go so easily."
  445. (11:46:27 PM) Twib: "Aye. But that flashbang of yours - it is what you now call an...Outside Context Problem. Warriors we are, fined and trained we be - but a surprise always surprises."
  446. (11:46:56 PM) Twib: The False Knight laughs, returning to his regular form. "My Master, shall we go to bed for now? It is late, and we have much to ponder."
  447. (11:47:05 PM) Watashiwa: Aye.
  448. (11:47:47 PM) Watashiwa: But first, entertainment. I left some observation drones behind. I suspect the television device in our quarters can be adapted to receive the image.
  449. (11:47:59 PM) Watashiwa: If that fails there's always the bathtub I suppose.
  450. (11:48:59 PM) Twib: Well - Gawain's Master has managed to flee to safety. Fast enough that you can't find him or Gawain.
  451. (11:49:10 PM) Watashiwa: augh
  452. (11:49:23 PM) Watashiwa: What about Gilcher?
  453. (11:49:23 PM) Twib: Gilgamesh, though - he stands still on the rooftops, Master in tow, bitching.
  454. (11:49:34 PM) Watashiwa: Oh boy.
  455. (11:49:41 PM) Twib: You see him launch a blade into the concrete street below in frustration!
  456. (11:49:47 PM) Twib: Which promptly explodes.
  457. (11:50:15 PM) Watashiwa: oooh
