  1. [23:21] "Hmm... Maybe. I've certainly been watching when I can. Though, I can't say I understand exactly how a lot of this magic is done here. Kinda like... Whatever just happened with you just now." Selena shrugged, "--but I've been getting better at developing myself over the months."
  2.
  3. "It's fascinating really, just how much you can accomplish when you apply your mind to things, just what you can accomplish." she claimed, smiling now. There was no reason to hang on to the spite prior.
  4. "I guess I just got lucky to have been introduced to the concept so early, before I ended up muddying up my perspective with that of a fundamental magic or something." Another shrug...
  5.
  6. "If you want, I can show you a demonstration off in a field or something..."
  7. (Selena Nokamata)
  8. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  9.
  10. [23:25] "Believe me, I'm just as confused as you are." Jaxxun remarked monotonously, even though the Teraphim and Myllenoris where his war allies, even though a druid had just repaired him, he still thought they were extremely odd and unsettling.
  11.
  12. Selena offered him both a chance to see how she had progressed with her training and a chance to begin the process of unlocking his bodies full potential, "Sure - After you."
  13. (Jaxxun)
  14. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  15.
  16. [23:35] A slow inhale... And slow exhale....
  17. Her body seemed relaxed and otherwise... Devoid of anomalies...
  18. The scenery was rather dense though -- constantly filled with the subtle bickering of chirping birds and roaming fauna. Surely the ambience was far from overwhelming, some may even call it peaceful -- though, it was far from whatever the Vale would aspire to be.
  19.
  20. She picked up right hand to fan her face, giving a tired sigh. "It's warm out here." she complained, "I should probably take off this armor. It's a bit heavy..." A pause, almost as though she had begun to disregard Jaxxun entirely. "... No, I don't think I'll have to. It won't make much of a difference."
  21.
  22. Assuming Jaxxun hadn't made his charge by now, she'd pivot his head over, bringing that same hand that fanned her face forth to beckon him forth.
  23. "Well? Aren't you going to come at me? I asked you to strike me with your weapon as fast and hard as you can. Preferably avoid my face... But... At the same time, I don't think I'll have to worry if I've mastered this technique well enough."
  24.
  25. There -was- an odd feeling in the air now. Almost as though, the very atmosphere itself was warming... It was subtle, but present. Perhaps, it'd mean Jaxxun could catch on to something awry?
  26. (Selena Nokamata)
  27. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  28. [23:41] Was she insane Jaxxun wondered. Charge toward her at full speed and hit her with everything he had?
  29.
  30. "Uh... Okay?" The swordsman was observably confused but he would play along. He unsheathed his blade and his back foot slid behind him, mana building up in his thigh thanks to the druid, expanding it tenfold and the loose dirt crumbling under the weight.
  31.
  32. A taunt! Ofcourse, it all makes sense now.. She was going to dodge!
  33.
  34. "Stay focused!" As soon as he spoke, a cloud of dust would be where he stood, the mana built up in his leg being dispensed and propelling him forward toward Selena, sword cleaving through the air with great strength, intended for her mid section... Was that a tree behind her?
  35. (Jaxxun)
  36. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  37. [23:47] Does the dash, it had already been explained!
  38. (Jaxxun)
  39. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  40.
  41. [23:49] Selena's eyes narrow amidst her attempt to follow Jaxxun's movements. Was something to come of this?
  42. [Speed / Perception Check -- ]
  43. (Selena Nokamata)
  44. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  45.
  46. [23:58] Selena didn't seem to budge. If anything, she was truly eyeing Jaxxun's movements -- goading him to approach. Though, as the swordsman closed the distance, a miscalculation was noted. He was far faster than she had originally anticipated, closing the gap before she could properly react. Those narrowed eyes widened in the nano-seconds they had left before the slash finally claimed its prize.
  47.
  48. Her mouth was whipped agape, and her body flung backwards. Time itself seemed to slow, as she recounted her initial goad, and realized just how far she had to go before she could manage. Thankfully, the armor she thought about removing was still on -- though, it was only copper armor. The power behind Jaxxun's swing would certainly put a dent in it though!
  49.
  50. To think, if she wasn't wearing it... He could've cleaved her clean in two. The thought didn't have the chance to pang at her heart... The connecting strike had the honors in accomplishing that much. Time resumed itself to launch her spiraling through the woods and into the tree behind her. The landing was with such absurd force that she shredded woodchips from the bark, bouncing off on impact and slowing her perception of time once more.
  51.
  52. Her pupils briefly flickered out for vacant white irises amidst the sclera: absolute agony writhed through her body, intent on crushing her to the soul. She could feel her body coil outward, chest extended back out from the tree as splinters raced her from the tree's base.
  53.
  54. Alas, time resumed for the second time... Dropping her to the ground. Motionless.
  55.
  56. Seconds would pass...
  57.
  58. Silence...
  59.
  60. More seconds would pass...
  61.
  62. And finally... A groan...
  63.
  64. It seemed as though that was all she could really reply with.
  65.
  66. It devolved some, for a pained moan. "I-... I didn't.... Think..." she started, yet never finished. That was enough to get the point across, as much as she hated it.
  67. "You're... fast.... strong.... holy shit." Her body had enough strength to give in to a coughing fit, without calling it quits. The copper armor she had come to hate so much, had saved her life -- perhaps, it was best to take things slow from now on?
  68. (Selena Nokamata)
