  27. Word Roots (list 6) - Work together to explain the meaning of each root with one or two words
  28. re (recycle, rebound, reuse, recline) = again/back
  29. reg (regulation, regent, regime) = rule
  30. retro (retrograde, retroactive, retrospect) = backward
  31. (The “tra”/”tro” forms more or less add direction or movement to re-, in-, ex-, and con-.)
  32. rupt (disrupt, rupture) = break/burst
  33. scend (ascend, descend, transcend) = climb
  34. scope/skep/spec (microscope, skeptic, spectacle) = see/look
  35. scrib/script (transcript, scripture, inscribe) = write/draw (Many verbs have “scribe” and nouns have “script” or “scription”)

  37. semi (semicircle, semiannual) = half (This is the Latin root. The Greek root is “hemi”.)

  40. soph (philosophy, sophisticated) = wisdom
  41. struct (construct, structure) = build
  42. sub (subterranean, submerge, substandard) = under
  43. super (superstructure, supersonic) = over
  44. tele (telephone, telescope, telepathy) = far
  45. term (determine, terminate) = end/limit (Words like “determine” and “define” are related to specifying something by putting limits around it.)
  46. terra/terri (territory, terrain, extraterrestrial) = earth/land
  47. therm (thermometer, thermal) = heat
  48. trans (transport, transaction, transverse, transparent) = across/through
  49. ultra (ultraviolet, ultrasound) = over/above (Often paired with “infra” words.)
  50. uni (universe, unique, unilateral) = one
  51. vac (vacuum, vacate, evacuate) = empty
  52. veri (verify, veracity) = truth
  53. viv/vit (vital, vivacious) = life
  54. vol (benevolent, volunteer, volition) = will
  55. xeno (xenophobia, xenophile) = strange/foreign/alien
  56. zoo (zoology, zooplankton) = animal (really the root is just “zo”, like “paleozoic” or “protozoa”)
  57. (Both “bot” and “phyt” refer to plants.)

  62. - negative fact (like fact questions but with “NOT” or “EXCEPT”)
