  1. Basics of the land:
  2. Nevalth
  3. The land of Nevalth is very secluded from other populations. It is made from the remnants of a once great and powerful Empire- from which the region got its name. The land is now broken up into nine individual holds: Balamore, Ardmist, Bloodshaw, Lysoria, Erimead, Nastirise, Bellas, Rendllyn, and Fulreath. Each of these holds are in a constant struggle to expand their borders- leaving the region scarred from the constant wars within its land.
  4. Nevalth’s tendency towards violence has had a major impact on the dense population of dragons inhabit the land. While many have since migrated away from the land in search of a more peaceful home, others have found themselves at home in the constant bloodshed- and have even grown a taste for the dead that litter the land. This has led to much of the remaining dragon population to abandon their noble roots and take up a more savage and feral personality.
  5. Hold Locations are:
  6. Ardmist- North East
  7. Erimead- North Center
  8. Bellas- North West
  9. Rendllyn- Center West
  10. Nastirise- South West
  11. Lysoria- South Center
  12. Bloodshaw- South East
  13. Balamore- Center East
  14. Fulreath- Center
  15. And the common knowledge version for each hold:
  16. The Nine Holds
  17. Balamore is home to the largest port in Nevalth, where most merchants and mercenaries call home. The King and Queen rule over the hold without question, though they rarely involve themselves with matters aside from collecting proper taxes. The true ruler of the land is gold- there are few things that can’t be accomplished in Balamore so long as one has the proper funds.
  18. Ardmist is one of the smallest holds, located in the forests to the northeast of the region. The people here have little need for more land, as they tend to stick to the cover of their forests. Ardmist’s population is largely made up of freedom fighters who commonly travel to fight in the name of the innocent.
  19. Bloodshaw is a barren land home to savage orcs, and ravenous ratfolk and goblins. The land is chaotic and ruled by brute strength. The orcs here are known to make attempts at expanding the borders of their territory.
  20. Erimead is among the most civilized hold in Nevalth, ruled by a large and extensive court system. The people here are generally wealthy, and live protected within city walls. The court system here dictates nearly all actions within the hold, from the punishment of a petty criminal to the defense of their precious cities- nothing is above the rule of the courts.
  21. Lysoria is a dark and decrepit land, home primarily to those who find strength in the shadows. Located in the shadow of the massive Mount Nastirise, Lysoria protected from the sun for much of the day. The people here are violent and incredibly strong- but they tend to stay within the borders of their hold.
  22. Bellas is home to the powerful Elves who seek to purify the Nevalth of its corrupt and violent nature, as whatever cost. They are unlikely to accept outsiders to their cause, especially those that lack an elven bloodline. They are ruled by a small council, and are in constant war with Nastirise.
  23. Nastirise is found in the mountainous region to the south of Nevalth, and is home to a Drow tyranny. While the more powerful drow tend to stay within the caverns of the mountains they live around, many commonly leave the darkness of their caves to manage the lower populations. They are always on the watch for ways to expand their territory.
  24. Rendllyn is a struggling hold, located between Bellas and Nastirise- and has slowly lost territory to the constant war between these two holds. As they lost valuable land to the armies at their borders, the crafty inhabitants of Rendllyn have slowly expanded their border to the great desert to the west of the region.
  25. Fulreath is the center most region of Nevalth, home to thick canopies and marshlands. While the waterways here make for common traveling routes, not much is known about Fulreaths inner structure. This is due to the elemental humanoids that inhabit the region, and ward away strangers with powerful magic.
  26.
  27. Major Cities of Balamore:
  28. Kinaellen; where we start. Its the southern town on the coast. Mostly merchants and small homes. Pretty happening place though.
  29.
  30. Luton: The northern city on the border. Pretty similar to Kinaellen, but smaller.
  31.
  32. Nevuldtham: In the center, where the two rivers meet. This is the capitol of Balamore, where the King/Queen/Royal guards live.
  33.
  34. Tarnstead: The one on the lake southish. Pretty peaceful, doesn't get a whole lot of visitors.
