Kanto Episode 2

Jalen steps out on the 1st route of his journey, Route 1! It's a hilly route with a lot of common Pokemon such as Rattata, Zigzagoon, Pidgey, Starly, and more in it. Many trainers from Pallet Town often stay here to train their mons. And so Jalen does just that with his Froakie, eventually getting it to learn Water Gun.

While doing so, he was attacked by a Starly. He had his Froakie take it on with it new move and after a easy battle, he toss a Pokeball at it.The ball hit the Pokemon and after 3 shakes...a click confirm that Jalen caught his 1st Pokemon!!! Fistpumping, he grabs the ball and look over the data in the Pokedex. Liking what he see from it, he keeps it in his party and catch the other Pokemon on the route. The ones he can't fit on his party of 6 is sent to his PC Account. As he leaves the route, he have on his team, Froakie and Starly. the fillers are Pidgey, Hoothoot(He caught one while it was sleeping)Rattata, and Spearow.

He arrives in Viridian City, a rather quiet place with not much to look out for besides the Trainer's School. Which, he have no need for since he did his research on Pokemon before the trip. BUT! there IS one place he wanna go to. After healing his Pokemon and depositing the filler, he runs towards one of the main goals, The Viridian Gym! He head towards the entrance and try to open it, but it's locked?.

An old man walk to him with a sorrowful face as Jalen raise his eyebrows at him, wondering what's going on here....

[The Gym leader tend to be out and about for some business...He won't be back for a while....]

Jalen frowns, but nods. Thanking the elder for that. he heads to the PKMN Mart and prepare for the 1st obstacle; The Viridian Forest. Home to many Bug and Grass Pokemon, too many to count as a matter of fact. He leaves the mart with Pokeballs and medicines on him...as much as he can buy with just $5000.  Exiting Viridian City, he look back and can still see Pallet Town beneath the hill. Happy with what he did in a hour, he turn around and head towards the Viridian Forest.


The trees in the forest are quite high, not as high as the ones in Ilex Forest in Johto, but it's still quite hard for the sunlight to come in through the leaves of the trees themselves. Still, Jalen walk through the forest while keeping an eye for any Pokemon he wanna keep on his team. While doing so, he comes across a couple of Bug Catchers-People who mainly dabble only in Bug mons- who wanted to battle him. They were perfect for training up his new Starly. And thanks to them, he got it to learn Wing Attack. a decent Flying STAB for it.

Eventually, he sees a yellow mushroom-like Pokemon with green spots. His Dex tells him that it's called a Shroomish. Liking what it can do and what-not....he set off on catching it. With the aid of Starly, he managed to weaken the Pokemon before lobbing a Pokeball at it..And once again...1....2.....3...CLICK! He catch another Pokemon for his team! He's pretty happy with his progress and sit on a tree stump to heal his Pokemon. As he does so, he fail to see someone coming up behind him.

"Yo, are you Jalen from Pallet Town?"

The voice sounds like a male, Jalen sit up and turn around to come face to face with a brown-haired teen with a long ponytail(Kinda like Takumi's...it's one of the styles in Kanto for both sexes...Something that Jalen don't take part in since he have short hair) adon in Samurai clothing with a wooden sword on him, something that makes Jalen somewhat wary of him. The samurai smirks and hold his hand out with a Pokeball.

"You gotta be him, I'm Hinata from Viridian City!, A guy named Takumi passed through here earlier and fought me!...I lost, but he told me about someone who just started, a black guy named Jalen! So it gotta be you, right? Then I challenge you to a battle! Once I beat you, I can begin my quest to become the champ in earnest!"

Jalen sighs and roll his eyes, of course Takumi would do something like this. Anything to hamper his progress...This guy before him seems to be somewhat friendly, if a lil gung-ho about his samurai cosplaying...Still, this will be a good experience for his Starly as well. The 1st gym is a Rock Type so Starly will need all the experience it will get before he challenge the Gym Leader. He accepts the challenge and the 2 boys walk from each other from the field and face one another.

"Allright, Pineco! Let's go!"

Hinata sends out a Pine-cone pokemon with eyes with a hard stare. Jalen look at it and let his Starly take point. Jalen start things off with a Wing Attack which Starly flies towards Pineco, but Pineco use Protect to bring up a green barrier which Starly bounce off of with no pain. Letting the Pineco set up Spikes on Starly's side of the field. Hinata fistpumps at his plan coming into fruition.

"Ha! Now whenever you send out a Pokemon, they gonna take damage!"

Jalen doesn't plan on using anyone else in this battle as he tell Starly to use Quick Attack to move in before Pineco can use anything else and then switch to Wing Attack. Starly zooms towards the Pine Cone pokemon with a trail of light behind him and smack Pineco with his wing, knocking it out for the match.

"Damnit, it's always gotta be a Flying type...No matter, let's see you deal with my ace, Go Wimpod!!"
Jalen blinks in confusion as the wimpy pokemon come out and is quite scared of Starly. Hell, one Wing Attack was all that was needed to defeat the bug. Although Jalen knows that Wimpod will eventually evolve into a powerful Pokemon called Golisopod. For now, he takes the win with a clean sweep and $820 from Hinata.

"Well, you beat me today, but next time will be different! Remember my name, Hinata Egawa!"

Hinata runs off to the woods away from Jalen. Jalen shrugs and exit the woods after 20 mins in it. By the time he get out of it, it's 12PM now. And he can see the buildings of Pewter City in the distance...Smiling, he looks to his right and see a cave, a sign is at the entrance with the words "Diglett's Cave" on it. He would check it out, but there's a tree in the way of the path. Shrugging, he walk down the hill towards the city and avoid the trainers . He eventually arrive at the city. He look it over and see the Gym in the distance ahead of the Museum. Not really that much of a fan of museums, he plan on skipping that and head to the Center to heal. As his 3 Pokemon get healed from the forest, Jalen look over the Gym leader for this city. Effie, a Rock Type Specialist...and a female. His dick stiffins a bit as he remembers his time with Hinoka and his plan on female trainers...

COULD he fuck not only another female, but a GYM LEADER at that? Rubbing his chin in thought, he gets his Pokemon from the nurse and thank her as he head out of the center and walk towards the gym. The gym itelf have a rock motif with boulders on the outside of the entrance next to the plaque of victorious trainers over the years. Jalen look on it and see that the latest name is none other than Takumi's. He don't care for that since it wasn't that much of a race to begin with.

He step inside and see the almost empty Gym field with a grey-haired girl his age standing on the other side. she is wearing workout clothing(Much like Hinoka). She cross her arms before her chest and call out to him in a voice that's sorta deep. As he get a bit closer and stand on his side of the field, a closer look shows that she's quite decent looking.

[I am Effie of Pewter Gym and master of Rock-Types! If you don't know how to get past my rock-hard defenses....you'll never prevail over me! Now come!]

Jalen watches as Effie's 1st Pokemon  comes out to reveal itself as a Geodude...A Rock/Ground type will be easy pickings for him considering his team....

Jalen sends out his Shroomish in his 1st battle, Shroomish look at his opponent and is geared up for battle. Jalen look across the field and see a smirk on Effie's face.

[Let me guess, you got this Grass type and thought this was gonna be a cinch?]
Jalen nods, not seeing why she's so confident in this.

[Ha! Well, I didn't had to do this to the last guy before ya since his Rowlet was part Flying...but this is what happen to Grass types in here...Geodude, FIRE PUNCH!!!]

Jalen widens his eyes and tell Shroomish to dodge the fiery fist of the Geodude, Shroomish jumps backwards as Geodude's fist slam to where he once was...Jalen order a Stun Spore on to Geodude to slow it down...

[Gonna have to do more than that! Fire Punch those spores away!]

Geodude bangs his fists together and punch those spores away with great speed(Jalen is reminded of many animes that does this, in particular FOTNS), but he wanted this as this distracts Geodude from Shroomish hidng behind the spores as they dissemble away in the air, providing a cover for him to use Mega Drain. Shroomish shoots a yellow energy tendril from his head and wrap it around Geodude and begin to suck his energy away. It don't take long as all due to the 4X weakness for Geodude to faint right there.

[Aw, damn....I didn't even get to use Stealth Rock...You're good, challenger...what's your name?.....Not much of a talker huh? No matter, I'll crush you here!]

Effie returns her Geodude and grab her next and last ball.

Suddenly time stops for Jalen as he look in front of him...'LEADER Effie is about to  send out Onix! Would you like to switch?' with the commands [YES, NO] floating next to him. He nods and press [YES] as time starts with him returning his Shroomish just as Effie grabs her final ball. He toss out his Froakie just as Effie throws out her Onix.
[Damn, Grass AND Water? What did you do, research?]

Jalen nods and remembering his 2nd goal...propose a bet to Effie...Effie blushes hard upon hearing this.

Onix waves her tail and conjure rocks from out of the air and fling them towards Froakie, who dodges them all with good agility in his jumps. Jalen order Froakie to use Double Team to confuse Onix. Froakie does some handsigns and with poofs of smokes, make 10 clones of himself.
[Oh wow, clones....Not good enough! Gyro Ball!!]

Onix roars and bites her tail and lay on the ground...Then she begin to spin with her speed increasing more and more...eventually whipping up a tornado for the Froakies to avoid...some of them get sucked in and poofs away. However, Jalen keep an eye on the real one(Real one have more bubbles on his scarf) as the fake ones toss him away from the tornado and they sacrifice themselves...Soon, the tornado die down as Onix stop spinning and rise up with a roar.
[Ha! Gotcha!....Wait, why are you smiling?.....SHIT, ONIX LOOK OUT!]

But it's too late, Froakie was charging up a new move he learned prior to this match. Water Pulse! He jump up in the air and shoot a Watery Sphere from his hands towards the Onix's head! Netting a critical OHKO to win! Onix lands on the ground with a loud THUD! as Froakie jumps towards Jalen and is praised for his win. He is returned at the same time Effie return her Onix. She scowls towards Jalen who walk to her with a smirk of his own.

Time stops as Jalen see info regarding about Traded Pokemon up to Lvl 20 will now listen to you. He nods and the message disappears as time resumes...

[2nd..this is the TM for Rock Tomb. I'm sure you know what this does, right?....Yeah, it have Infinite uses so no worries about that...]

Effie grabs his hand and lead him to her office in the room back. She shuts the door and let him sit on the desk..
