- <Vigilant_GM> IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
- <Vigilant_GM> The acolyte cell finds itself at the end of Holthane's escape tunnel, Uriel carries the limp unconscious body of Karpath, whose ugly mutilation has resumed bleeding through the bandages hastily applied.
- * Uriel carries the body with ease, falling back on his years of experience carrying wounded fellow soldiers
- * Nitrous goes first out of the escape tunnel
- <Velam> "I cannot stress how time is against us, we need to find medical assistance for these two." He emphasizes the unconscious Karpath and the armless Shiv.
- <Baird> "Agreed." Baird moves into position behind Nitrous readying his bolt pistol.
- <Vigilant_GM> The hatch opens up to a corner of the main hab populated by the downtrodden. Several of the luckless outcasts eye Nitrous with suspicion, and surprise.
- * Karpath stub of a leg jerks a bit as he remains unconscious in Uriels arms.
- * Velam looks around, his head jerking from right to left for an obvious path forward.
- <Vigilant_GM> As each of the acolytes emerges, those locals begin to back away.
- * Shiv follows behind Baird. He is extremely nervous.
- <Velam> "Baird, perhaps we should find a tavern and ask for directions?" He looks back to the gunslinger.
- <Uriel> "I'd say we should hurry and make a decision before we draw unwanted suspicion." he says, eyeing the locals
- <Baird> "I doubt they have something that official down here, we'll probably be just as effective to question them." Barid hooks a thumb at the locals. "Unless of course you know of a watering hole nearby?"
- <Velam> "Of course not." He looks incredulous, giving him a look as if asking him if he really thinks someone of his learned experience would brush shoulders with such people in places of ill repute.
- * Uriel Begins to walk towards the light, trusting his Batlle Lords will
- <Vigilant_GM> A street urchin running down the street bumps into Velam.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Apologies, sir!"
- * Velam grabs for the kid, going for his arm.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Hey! Help! Help!!"
- <Vigilant_GM> The little tramp begins to flail about.
- <Nitrous> "Stop resisting"
- <Baird> "What's going on with this kid Velam?"
- <Velam> "Let go of my dataslate." He stares down at the kid, meeting his eyes. He thinks for a moment. "Actually if you do that and cooperate I'll give you one of these." He fishes out a note of scrip and waves it just out of reach of the kid.
- <Vigilant_GM> The boy puts a stop to his act almost immediately, and lets go of the dataslate.
- <Vigilant_GM> He simply nods.
- <Velam> "That's a good lad. My friends are in need of some medical help. Could you tell me where I could find the best treatment in this..." He shivers, "in this place?"
- <Vigilant_GM> The boy holds up the currency note, looking at every detail.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Rokko" he shrugs.
- <Velam> "Rokko?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "Yeah. The Brassmen fixer."
- <Velam> "Interesting." He rubs his chin. "Say, if you were to show us where this Rokko is, I'll give you another scrip, eh?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "He won't like you," he says with a giggle.
- <Vigilant_GM> He pockets the first of his rewards, and extends his hand out.
- * Shiv whispers to Velam "Like a medic, but less professional"
- <Velam> "I'm afraid not many people do, these days." He sighs. "You'll get it when you've shown us there."
- <Shiv> "Think of them as like low-hive 'doctors'."
- * Velam he nods at Shiv. "Now see here, I made good on my first transaction with you. And as I see it, now that I know who, I can find another urchin like you or any other desperate person here to show me."
- <Vigilant_GM> He looks around. "Yeah? And who would that be?"
- <Vigilant_GM> A grin forms on his face.
- * Uriel Eyes the boy with frustration "Listen here, we're offering to pay you. Don't forget that moments ago you attempted to steal from us, and I don't take to kindly to that." he squares his shoulders and takes a large step towards the child
- <Vigilant_GM> He takes a step back.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Fine. But he'll get you in trouble," he says pointing at Uriel.
- <Uriel> "Why is that?"
- <Vigilant_GM> He turns around without another word, and walks down the street.
- <Velam> "I'm sure we'll find out soon enough." He shrugs before following after the kid.
- <Vigilant_GM> The squalor around you slowly becomes something more... vibrant.
- <Vigilant_GM> This is no thriving sector of the hive, but trade does take place, and basic services seem to be present.
- <Vigilant_GM> What is most striking, however, is the presence of well-armed men in heavy industrial garb, often showing off a wide range of cybernetics.
- <Baird> Following after Velam, Baird holsters his bolt pistol but keeps his hands ready to draw at the first sign of trouble.
- <Vigilant_GM> You realize this particular style of dress, as pervasive as it is here, isn't something you have seen anywhere else in Desoleum.
- <Velam> "Who are they?" He asks Shiv, nodding at the weirdly dressed guards.
- <Vigilant_GM> The urchin, interestingly enough, does not draw the attention that you do.
- <Shiv> "I have.... no idea."
- <Vigilant_GM> To a man, hands drop to weapon grips as you are spotted.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Hey! Copperdome!" the urchin calls out to a man who, indeed, has adorned his bald head with metallic copper paint.
- <Vigilant_GM> The man turns, though his eyes are fixed on you rather than the source of the call.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Got some friends here to see Rokko!"
- <Velam> "Oh Throne," he mutters in complaint.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Yeah? How friendly?"
- <Vigilant_GM> At that reply, the boy turns around to Velam and extends his open hand.
- * Velam hands him the scrip, and if the kid notices a second one under that, a little tip let's say. "I am a man of my word."
- <Vigilant_GM> The boy snatches his reward and puts it away in one quick movement. Turning back again, "Very friendly!"
- <Velam> "Hope that means what it actually means."
- <Baird> "Lets hope Velam.."
- <Vigilant_GM> 'Copperdome' motions you forward.
- * Velam walks towards this 'Copperdome' with Baird at his side, and the rest following
- * Uriel stalks forward, eyes scanning across the group of "brassmen" he assumes
- * Baird slowly moves forward with Velam eyeing 'Copperdome' carefully.
- * Nitrous follows suit
- <Vigilant_GM> "Rokko only sees to friendly folk," his eyes now fixed on the large blade at Uriel's side.
- <Baird> "Copperdome was it? We've got some wounded here and were told Rokko could help us out."
- * Shiv follows behind Baird.
- <Baird> "We're all plenty friendly so long as their is no reason to be unfriendly."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Weapons stay with me... friend."
- * Uriel grumts, nodding towards one of the men to grab his sword since he is holding the wounded
- <Vigilant_GM> Copperdome nods to others around him who confiscate the weapons of those entering.
- <Nitrous> "I'll keep lookout outside"
- * Velam hands his laspistol to the men.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Come in," a voice calls from within. Copperdome nods you through.
- * Baird accepts the unconscious body of Karpath and carries it inside.
- <Velam> The savant goes inside towards the voice.
- <Vigilant_GM> Within, a veritable technomat's paradise. The sounds and smells of all manner of workshop tools and mechanisms fills the room in a metallic hum.
- * Uriel remains silent, glaring at the brassmen as he waits anxiously for his companions
- <Vigilant_GM> Tightening a bolt to a twitching mechanical limb on a large worktable, is a man with augmetics of all sorts covering his body. Even his clothes are tailored around some of his most "proud" pieces, which are allowed to stick through and be displayed.
- * Shiv enters the building with the others.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Outsiders playing tough down here usually aren't so lucky," his manner of speaking strikes you as oddly educated.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Set him on the examination table," he says, gaze never leaving the mechanical limb on which he's working.
- * Baird walks forward setting Karpath down on the exam table. "Rokko is it?" Baird queries.
- <Vigilant_GM> "And you are? Can't say a group like yours has ever come down here without starting trouble."
- <Vigilant_GM> He chuckles.
- <Uriel> "Brassmen... what is that?" he says aloud, directed towards copperdome
- <Velam> While this goes on Velam walks around and examines the various pieces of machinery and equipment, his two servo skulls making a slow circuit above his head. "Fascinating." He murmurs in a low voice.
- <Vigilant_GM> The metal-painted guard looks at Uriel with something approaching confusion and contempt.
- <Shiv> "Must be worth a lot of scripts."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Look around you. You're on Brassman turf."
- <Baird> "Names Baird and as for our group we're only here by happenstance not by choice. Don't worry we're not gonna cause trouble in your neighborhood we just need to get our people stitched up so we can move on."
- <Vigilant_GM> Rokko finally looks up, his mechanical eye clicking into focus.
- <Vigilant_GM> "I'm not worried, Baird."
- <Baird> "Just a word Rokko, not implying you were."
- <Uriel> "A gang then."
- <Uriel> "You
- <Baird> "Just putting any concerns that may or may not be there to rest is all."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Honored servants?" he asks.
- <Vigilant_GM> You realize Rokko is looking at the servo skulls floating about his shop.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Gang. Tribe. Family," Copperhead replies.
- <Baird> "Velam?" Baird calls out. "Rokko's got a question about your assistants flying about."
- <Uriel> "You seem strong, have much trouble with other gangs?" he hopes the slight flattery will lead the Guard to loosen his tongue
- <Vigilant_GM> Rokko makes his away around from the worktable.
- <Vigilant_GM> Copperhead only grunts in reply to Uriel's question.
- <Nitrous> "Hrm"
- <Velam> "Hm?" He looks up and back to Baird. "Oh, I am terribly sorry." He makes a hand gesture at his 'sisters' to come down, and they do, flitting to either side of him. "They get like that sometimes, I apologize, sir."
- <Vigilant_GM> "May I?" he approaches the servoskulls.
- <Velam> "They were once my kin, younger sisters." He pats one of them.
- <Velam> He looks uncomfortable at saying yes, but nods his head, not wanting to offend the man.
- <Vigilant_GM> His mechanical eye clicks again, and a low green glow fills the lenses as he closes for a better look.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Interesting,"
- <Vigilant_GM> "The Priesthood's work, yes?"
- <Uriel> "The boy one of your eyes on the street? must know his way around."
- <Velam> "Yes sir, it was a favor done to me by an old friend."
- <Velam> "Helped me in a time of grief."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Interesting," he repeats, before turning away from them.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Now. What is it you require of me?"
- * Shiv pulls out the bionic arm and waves it around.
- <Shiv> "I kinda need this."
- <Vigilant_GM> Rokko looks to shiv for a moment, then back to Velam.
- <Baird> "We need our unconscious man to be stiched up and fitted with a new leg and he needs that arm attached."
- <Velam> "Medical help, and he," gesturing to Shiv, "needs his arm fixed. Well really yes, medical help."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Does your slave know the limb it holds is both destroyed, and incompatible with his weak and petite frame?"
- <Baird> "But our man on the table needs priority. Shivvy can wait till your done for his arm since he's not bleeding on the table."
- <Velam> "You're asking the wrong person, sir. I am not a man of machines. Data and information is my language. I am more a scholar than anything, a savant if you will."
- <Baird> "Hear that Shiv?" Baird asks chuckling a bit. "Maybe he's got some for sale."
- <Vigilant_GM> A certain curiosity overtakes Rokko, who takes a knee next to Karpath's limp body, examining the stump.
- * Velam wonders why he calls Shiv a slave, and thinks how scary it is that this man knows more than he's letting on.
- * Shiv looks at bionic arm and whispers "Fuk."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Messy. Amateurish. Infection will kill him." he gets back up, looking to Velam once more - something draws him to the scholar as an equal of sorts.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Unless, of course, payment is made and I intervene."
- <Shiv> "I'll trade ya, an arm I guess."
- <Velam> "We are sorely lacking in the way of funds, or at least the amount you may require to aid us." He looks to Baird for support.
- <Baird> "And whats this gonna cost us?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "Is it customary in your world to allow slaves such freedom for insolence?"
- <Shiv> "I am no sla.... I mean... 'Sorry my masters'."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Scrip is for the unimaginative. What do you have with you?"
- <Baird> "Well slave aside Rokko how much will this run us?"
- <Velam> "Are you asking for something less tangible? Information or something? Or perhaps our services?"
- <Vigilant_GM> He nods.
- * Velam he sighs. "Do you require an errand of us, sir?"
- * Uriel stands
- <Vigilant_GM> "However, the extent of which depends on what you wish from me. Is his life all you seek?" he motions towards Karpath.
- <Baird> "His life and a new limb then depending on how much that will run us we'll see about getting our "slave" a new arm."
- * Shiv bows.
- <Velam> "Baird has summed it up quite neatly."
- <Nitrous> "Why are you standing?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "Your services, then."
- <Vigilant_GM> He says nothing more, taking your acceptance of the deal as granted, and begins to unwrap the bandaging form Karpath's leg.
- * Velam trembles violenty, his arms shootout to one of the tables nearby for support. "By the God-Emperor." He moans in a rough, pained voice.
- <Baird> "You alright Velam?" Baird moves in Velam's direction.
- <Velam> "I...I'm not sure." Sweat beads off his forehead. He finds a nearby chair and practically collaspes into it. "I saw...I saw something." He doesn't share anymore as he holds himself and shivers in the chair.
- * Shiv leaves to get food for himself and the group.
- <Vigilant_GM> Several hours pass, and, you return to Rokko's fixer shop.
- <Vigilant_GM> Karpath remains unconscious, with a mask over his face. The limb has been replaced with a mechanical one. Rokko interacts with a monitor connected to the limb, testing movement and range to every joint.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Welcome back. Your friend is about to awaken."
- <Velam> "Impressive work." He compliments the augmetic man.
- <Vigilant_GM> The clear tubes connected to the mask begin to fill with a pale yellow substance- an aerosol Karpath inhales in several breaths.
- <Vigilant_GM> Rokko straps Karpath to the table.
- <Velam> "Oh my."
- <Vigilant_GM> "It is never pleasant," he explains to no one in particular.
- * Karpath eye open, he feels as if he is drowning as he begins to almost choak on the pale yellow substance, he begin trying to trash around to escape the feeling but is unable to.
- <Vigilant_GM> Rokko keeps his eyes on the monitors as he removes the mask from his patient.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Still. Be still."
- * Karpath starts coughing, even almost trying to throw up, he slowly starts to look around, his surrounding unfamiliar to him, "Where.... Where am I?"
- <Vigilant_GM> Rokko steps away now, satisfied with his work.
- * Karpath tries to looks around, off to the side he sees the figure of Baird, "Baird, what is going on?" Still confused of why he is strapped to the table.
- <Baird> "Easy Karpath. We're getting you fixed up after that incident back there. Got ya new leg and everything." Moving closer to Karpath as he speak Baird stops beside the table rapping the leg lightly.
- * Shiv mulching on his snacks and says "Neat."
- <Vigilant_GM> Sensation from the limb begins to reflect in Karpath's brain.
- <Vigilant_GM> The monitor's graph jumps, and Rokko comes closer.
- * Karpath looks some what confused, his memory still somewhat murky, he then looks at his leg, his eyes widen. "AH SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT FUCK.
- <Nitrous> "You'll get used to it"
- <Vigilant_GM> "Very good," Rokko comments, no interest in the distress of his patient as he monitors the cybernetic's ability to communicate with Karpath's senses.
- <Shiv> "We all died, welcome to hell."
- <Baird> "Pipe down Shivvy."
- * Karpath his heart pounds in his chest as the memories from earlier start to rush back of his fight with the servitor and the last thing he remembered of the feeling of pain in his right leg as the chain weapon cut through it.
- * Shiv starts giggling a bit.
- <Vigilant_GM> Rokko removes the monitor clips from Karpath and his new prosthetic, and begins to unstrap the patient.
- * Karpath takes several deep breaths as he tries to calm himself down.
- <Velam> "Good as new or perhaps better, wouldn't you say?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "Certainly better," chimes in the Fixer.
- <Karpath> "I... I really don't know, it feels all strange." He then slowly tries to get himself up, still taking slow deep breaths to continue to calm himself.
- <Nitrous> "Take it one step at a time."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Sensory inputs will take a while to adjust. You may feel numbness, or bouts of burning pain intermittently for the next day or so."
- * Karpath full sits up on the table, he then uses his arms to turn himself so that he can slowly put his weight on his legs. As he does so, he begins to wobbles and he almost collapse to the floor but is able to uses his arms to stabilize him.
- * Shiv says "Master Velam, may I please..." *points to his arm*
- <Velam> "Please don't call me that." He shivers before asking. "I assume we would owe you another favor if you could give our good friend shiv an arm, as well? He's much better at his job if he has two."
- <Vigilant_GM> "A much simpler procedure. The cut is clean if my observations serve me well."
- <Vigilant_GM> "On the table, slave," he indicates.
- * Shiv hops onto the table.
- <Vigilant_GM> Rokko pushes him back, and straps him in.
- * Karpath slowly using his arms to hold himself up using the table and any object he can find in the room, he begins to walk around the room, trying to get use to the new leg.
- <Vigilant_GM> Shiv's mouth is stuffed with an oily rag Rokko produces from a pocket.
- <Vigilant_GM> Shortly after, a servitorized assistant comes in with a replacement of... questionable quality.
- <Vigilant_GM> A drill is brought to him.
- <Vigilant_GM> The prosthetic is held in place against the stump by the servitor.
- <Vigilant_GM> Tightly.
- <Velam> "If I may sir, perhaps an arm of common quality? His work can be delicate at times. I don't mean to be sure a bother, but it is important."
- <Velam> He hides his hands within his robes as he says this.
- <Vigilant_GM> Rokko places a bolt on the drill, and places it against an opening on the prosthetic.
- <Vigilant_GM> "This is fairly common, I assure you," he nods.
- <Velam> "Right."
- * Shiv gives the thumbs up gesture.
- <Vigilant_GM> He begins to drill through his flesh.
- <Vigilant_GM> Straight to the bone.
- <Vigilant_GM> The process is repeated five more times.
- * Shiv tries to scream in pain and struggles a lot.
- <Vigilant_GM> After the gory procedure is done, a foul-smelling metallic spray is applied over the bloody stump now covered by the prosthetic.
- <Vigilant_GM> The bleeding stops, and Rokko pours a container of water over the area.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Very good. He didn't die."
- * Shiv lets out a very muffled "You suck at this."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Sensory inputs are practically null on this pattern, and the joints may prove problematic at times. Maintain them oiled, and your slave ought to be able to serve you."
- * Velam winces at every screw and looks on in horror as his fellow acolyte is tortured in such a way. But he has a new arm.
- <Vigilant_GM> "On the matter of payment..."
- <Vigilant_GM> "I have a problem."
- <Vigilant_GM> "And you will provide a solution."
- <Velam> "Whatever we can manage sir."
- <Baird> "And what exactly is this...problem?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "The Deathskin gang... brutish animals they are, have something of mine," he explains.
- <Baird> "Location of the gang and description of the item in question?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "Orak, that fiend, insults me further, for one of his limbs is my own work. I want it, and the servitor he stole, back."
- <Nitrous> "Got a emergency off switch for the servitor?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "The underhive. They occupy the abandoned pilgrimage site and its surrounding area. And, if you are able to acquire the plasma pistol he is rumored to carry now, it would more than repay your debt. I would reward you further."
- <Vigilant_GM> "You won't need an off switch. That beast is likely beating away at my servitor in an attempt to make it function. Time is of the essence."
- <Baird> "Noted. Well I don't suppose you know of any reliable transportation that can get us close?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "You walked here?" Rokko says in what must be the first time you see him surprised.
- <Baird> "Not exactly. But the slave wrecked the vehicle, and almost us with it."
- <Shiv> "You arewelcome."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Our machines are dear to us. I could lend one, but its destruction would be regrettable."
- <Baird> "If he wrecks this one you can always take back his arm."
- * Karpath still holding onto a nearby table for some support eyes Baird, unsure of what he is talking about though assuming it happened when he was unconscious.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Indeed I would."
- <Shiv> "It is mine now. I won't attempt to crash it."
- <Baird> "Nothing is yours until this is done Shivvy. Don't feth this up."
- <Vigilant_GM> "But I wouldn't allow one to leave my sight without a guardian. Copperdome will join you." he nods.
- <Baird> "Understandable, gotta protect what's yours."
- <Vigilant_GM> The protector walks in.
- <Vigilant_GM> "You called?"
- <Vigilant_GM> "You will be joining our friends, and punishing Orak and his sadistic animals."
- <Vigilant_GM> A disturbing smile begins to form on Copperdome's face.
- <Nitrous> "soon."
- <Vigilant_GM> "Don't break my servitor," Rokko says before disappearing to a back room.
- * Velam look to Baird curiously before nodding.
- <Baird> "Alright everybody lets roll. Lead the way to the transportation 'Copperdome'.
- * Velam shephards his servo skulls outside and waits for the 'Copperdome' to lead.
- * Nitrous follows suit
- * Karpath nods and hobbles along following Baird, his body still slowly adjusting to the new part.
- <Vigilant_GM> A highly customized vehicle awaits in an adjacent depot. It has large, gilded rear wheels with a direct drive to the exposed engine mechanisms. The front wheels are much lower, allowing for a raised turret on the higher rear section, with the passenger section on the front.
- * Shiv drools.
- <Shiv> "This is amazing."
- <Nitrous> "Happy I see"
- <Shiv> "I got a new arm AND a new toy to play with."
- <Vigilant_GM> Copperdome enters, and brings the engines to life. It is a deep, reverberating roar that fills the depot.
- * Baird climbs into the shotgun seat.
- * Nitrous takes left passanger
- * Velam climbs aboard and straps into one of the various passenger seats in the back.
- * Karpath gets into vehicle as he makes his way to the turret seat.
- <Shiv> "Well, fuk. I was hoping to drive it." Hopes into a passenger seat.
- <Vigilant_GM> As though propelled by anger, the engines roar the vehicle forward.
- <Vigilant_GM> Thick fumes eject out of the rear, lingering in the air for more than a minute.
- <Vigilant_GM> The thick clouds, loud noise, and large frame catch everyone's attention as you travel about, and into the underhive.
- <Shiv> "This is great, Beard man."
- <Velam> "It's loud is what it is."
- <Baird> Unable to hear Shivs comment over the roaring engine Baird continues to scan the surroundings for potential threats.
- <Vigilant_GM> For about an hour, you are navigated around to a section you realize must have 'become' underhive - the district is a run-down and ravaged section of mid-hive architecture and distribution or lanes and blocs.
- <Vigilant_GM> of*
- <Vigilant_GM> A heretical sight suddenly emerges in the distance as a chapel of the Imperial Creed stands run down, and modified in blasphemous ways.
- <Vigilant_GM> The Aquila is crudely painted black. On its head (yes, one), a throned crown made of thick barbed wire and sheet metal fragments.
- <Vigilant_GM> The vehicle comes to a stop.
- <Vigilant_GM> The engines idle, as Copperdome turns around and speaks up. "Any further, and they'll have an ambush ready for us."
- <Vigilant_GM> The engines are killed, and your escort exits the vehicle.
- <Nitrous> "Seems about right."
- * Velam releases himself from the strap of his seat and exits the vehicle.
- <Baird> "Alright Copperdome we'll head inside and get what your boss wants, you should probably stay here in case they try and cutoff anyway we can get to the vehicle." Baird says as he exits the vehicle
- <Vigilant_GM> In an instant, Copperdome's shoulder ejects blood in a spray. The next instant, you hear a boom.
- <Baird> "They could also have some crew members out and about and if we're all inside thats an ambush waiting to happen."
- <Shiv> "SNIPER!"
- <Vigilant_GM> "FUUUCK!" he roars as he hits the ground.
- <Nitrous> "DOWN NOW"
- * Shiv ducks for cover.
- * Baird hunkers down beside the vehicle
- * Nitrous goes for cover
- * Karpath makes himself low inside the turret of the car.
- * Velam tackles the ground and scrabbles desperately into whatever cover he can find.
- <Nitrous> "Sniper in the Chapel Spire"
- <Vigilant_GM> "I'LL TEAR THAT DOG TO PIECES!"
- * Nitrous takes a shot at the sniper and misses
- <Vigilant_GM> The shot has an important effect, however. The sniper also misses his shot as a result; the barrier next to Velam explodes into ground up rock-crete and dust.
- <Vigilant_GM> Another boom follows.
- <Vigilant_GM> You hear the bark of dogs closing.
- * Shiv tries to hide himself away from the Sniper's view
- * Velam tries to make himself as small as possible beneath what's left of his cover. Then he hears the dogs. "Oh Throne above."
- <Vigilant_GM> Copperdome begins to drag himself towards his weapon.
- * Karpath angles the turrets guns towards the tower and opens fire with the gun.
- <Vigilant_GM> The spire gets riddled with the automatic fire, rock-crete chipping and kicking up.
- <Vigilant_GM> The dogs close into sight, now, charging onward without fear.
- * Velam draws his laspistol as the dogs draw nearer.
- * Karpath aims the guns toward the direction of the dogs.
- <Baird> Drawing his bolt pistol and one of his hand cannons Baird prepares for the dogs to assault them.
- * Velam rolls himself into deeper cover as he's being shot at, he yelps as the sniper barely misses him.
- * Nitrous takes a shot and misses the sniper
- * Shiv sneaky crawls to Copperhead and patches his wound.
- * Karpath opens fire on the approaching dogs as they make their way into the kill zone.
- * Baird raises his pistols firing the bolt pistol into the nearest dog killing it instantly and fires his hand cannon at the other hitting it in the leg and wounding it.
- <Vigilant_GM> Another shot snaps from the spire at Nitrous. This quick reflexes, however, let him get out of the way last second.
- * Velam turns himself with his laspistol and depresses the trigger. Two bolts of las hit the dog nearest to Baird, sending it to an early grave. "Whoa, I actually hit!"
- * Nitrous takes a shot at the sniper and blows a hole through the sniper's chest
- * Shiv pokes his heads out and shoots one of the dogs. He cowers back into cover.
- * Karpath continues to fire over watch on the remaining dogs.
- <Baird> Firing both of his pistols into another dog he puts it down with two clean hits.
- <Velam> Another dog, another target, he aims his laspistol again and lets off another two-round burst. And hits again! "By the Emperor! This must be a miracle!"
- <Vigilant_GM> Copperdome fires his weapon, launching a grenade overhead, striking the chapel.
- <Vigilant_GM> "Help me up!"
- <Nitrous> "Sniper's dead"
- * Karpath slowly pokes his head out, he then makes his way down from the turret, taking it easy on his new leg.
- * Shiv crawls under the vehicle. He says "Is it safe?"
- <Nitrous> "Currently yes."
- <Velam> Another dog, another target, he aims his laspistol again and lets off another two-round burst. And hits again! "By the Emperor! This must be a miracle!"
- * Velam sits up at the all clear, checking to make sure his servo skulls are around and intact. "Glad you two still know how to duck and cover." He chuckles to himself.
- <Vigilant_GM> You can hear the calls and shouts of the Deathskins trying to bring together a defense... what awaits beyond, and how many of the underhive scum will be there remains to be seen. What is certain is that the element of surprise is no longer on your side.
