Adulting

Covet: Eli was standing behind the counter just kind of day dreaming as he had been for like the last week . He had a goofy smile on his lips and he was just staring off into space.
Alexithymiaa: Adam was busy hustling around the store, trying to make up for some missed hours being gone for a few days when he was in Kansas. His trip had put him in a pretty good mood because he actually liked spending time with his family. Heading back over to the counter, he stowed his cleaning supplies underneath before looking to Eli and raising his brows. "Doing okay?"-
Covet: "Hmm? Oh yeah I'm doing great. " El told him, with a smirk. "Your weekend seemed to do some good for you?" He aksed.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, I enjoyed getting to see my family for a few days. I think my moms are going to plan a trip to come out here in a month or so. They were talking about it." He said with a wide grin, resting his hands on the counter in front of him. "What about you?"-
Covet: "That's great. You'll have to bring them by the shop." Eli said with a grin, then nodded, Not too bad. Went and saw Mom, showed her the video Dad got of the graduation. She said she was proud of me, and she's right on track with getting out in time for the wedding. Things are looking up for the Cohens."
Alexithymiaa: "That's so great. I'm really glad to hear it. I was thinking of your family while I was home with mine. Y'all are like a second family to me. My Portland family. I'm just happy to hear everything is getting better." He smiled at Eli, taking a sweeping glance around the store. "Are you ready for the party tomorrow? It's basically in your honor."-
Covet: "Yeah, It's going to be a formal event, and all but I'm not going too over the top." He said with a shrug. "No tie, light jacket, slacks. I intend to enjoy myself, I think I've more than earned it." Eli added.
Alexithymiaa: "I definitely agree. And like I said, it's basically in your honor so you should get to do whatever you want. I'll probably just go with a jacket too. It's essentially Summer, afterall." He said with a shrug.-
Covet: "Yeah that was my thought too." Eli said with a chuckle. "It's still kind of surreal, and hasn't really sank in yet. I'm free to the world, it's officially my oyster, again."
Alexithymiaa: "Did you put everything in motion with Monica? For this place?" He asked him with raised brows.-
Covet: "Yep, We just have to do the final signatures, so I need to talk with Prudence and Bliss and it will all be official." Eli said.
Alexithymiaa: "That's awesome. When do you think that you're going to sit down with them? I'm sure your anxious to start your new adult life." He said with a small laugh because they were kind of already adults, but it doesnt feel that way for him.-
Covet: "I'm hoping soon, but she and her family have been busy with things. So It could be this week, it could be next week." Eli said. " I am, but I'm already doing most of it how I already intended anyways, so not much is going to change. "
Alexithymiaa: "I guess it's more of something that's in your head than anything else. Once you graduate college, your an adult. I think that's just how I've looked at it for as long as I can remember." He reached under the counter to grab the order book, setting it on top to begin flipping through aimlessly.-
Covet: "Ultimately it means I'm going to have a lot more time on my hands. Which will be nice in regards to my drawing and other projects I want to get involved with. " Eli said. "Basically it means more relaxing and doodling. I'm not really sure how adult that is?"
Alexithymiaa: "Uh well...." He stopped, trying to consider. "Maybe it means you'll have more time for the things that bring in money for things like mortgages and car payments and 401ks?" He asked, trying to use as many adult things in one sentence as possible.-
Covet: "You are saying a lot of really intense words right now, dude." Eli said. "I'm an adult, but I'm not that much of an adult, well.. I mean, I haven't had car payments in a while, and There's some money in my 401k." Eli said, "But mortgage? We've got the apartment upstairs for now. And niether of us are rushing into the whole baby making thing like Cadence and Remy did. We've both got goals, we want to achieve first."
Alexithymiaa: "I cant say I know all that much about any of what I just said. I've never had any of them so you're at least farther along than I am. Well, in a lot of ways, but those too." He started to laugh, looking down at the catalog again.-

Covet: Eli laughed and shook his head, "I could probably trade the rover in for an upgrade, Mine's a little dated." Eli said, "But other than that, I've got a future wife, a home, and a business soon to be ours. I don't know how it happened, but adulting really isn't that hard."
Covet: [Shut up Eli]
Alexithymiaa: "I don't know, you're making it look pretty easy, but a lot of people don't seem to think it is so maybe you just got lucky." He asked with a shrug as he browsed the catalog, flipping through the pages.-
Alexithymiaa: (Theres no way Eli bought the Rover on his own.)
Covet: [Oh no, his parents paid for it, but he saved up the down payment and has been paying them back for it since like highschool.]
Covet: [he's had it paid off for like a year, year and a half]
Tsaaq: Hayley came from the back of the shop with one of those item tagging guns. "I just labelled a whole mess of stuffs." She announced. "Want a pricel?" She went over to the counter with the gun so she could sticker Adam. "A billion okay?" // Bliss came from the bathroom and pulled down her cleaning face mask for extra cleany cleaning. She sighed as she went around the counter to put the bucket down. "So the bathroom is spotless." She smiled before getting all close to Eli.
Covet: "I guess it helps that I just mostly kept my head down and stayed out of as much trouble as possible and did at least the minimum expected of me. It helps that I have comic drawing experience, because that's probably what pays most of my bills, but the rest of it is just good old fashioned responsibility." he told adam then chuckled at Hayley's actions before turning to Bliss, "Thank you My Love. I expect nothing less when you do it." He leaned over to kiss the tip of her nose, "I do have a question for you though."
Alexithymiaa: "If that's the standards, I think I'll be in pretty good shape by the time I graduate." He said with a smile before looking at Hayley. "Does that mean you can't afford me?"-
Tsaaq: She puckered her lips into a pout as she retracted the pricing gun. "Yeah I'm really trying to make the bidding for AGD's date auction off the hook." Hayley replied then stuck out her tongue out at him. "You are in good shape now. I'm confused." She looked between Adam and Eli. // Bliss tilted her head as she fully took off the face mask. "What is it? You're making me worried." She chuckled.
Covet: "Nothing serious, I was just going to ask when your Grandmother was free. I needed to ask her some advice about something." he told her with a smile, brushing her cheek, then he glanced at Hayley, "We mean in better financial shape, not physical."
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, we were just talking about having certain things accomplished by the time we graduate and Eli is in pretty good shape with a lot of that stuff." He said with a nod in Eli's direction.-
Tsaaq: "Ohhhh." She nodded. "I think we'll be fine. But Bliss and Eli are pretty exemplary." Hayley pouted again. // "Oh!" She smiled. "Of course! I'll call her in the morning. I'm sure that she'll have no problem making time for you." Bliss perked up. "Things have been pretty quiet lately."
Covet: "Great that would be fantastic, Thank you My Love." He told her and gave her a squeeze around her shoulders. "you ladies, have something nice picked out for the fancy little party going on tomorrow?"
Alexithymiaa: "They really are." He said with a laugh, glancing over to Eli again. "Yeah, we have it easy. We can get away with pretty much wearing the same thing over and over again and no one notices."-
Tsaaq: Hayley shrugged her shoulders. "You've got that right. I'm trying to find an outfit I haven't worn before so... I may or may not have to go to the actual store tomorrow." She replied. "I know how I'm wearing my hair though?" She smirked. // "Of course darling." She nuzzled him. "Of course I do! I always have something prepared. And if not I will attempt to rummage in Sephy's closet. But that's literally plan C." She waved her hand. "I definitely noticed by the way. You guys aren't getting away with anything." She winked.
Covet: "Hey we can't help that men's fashion hasn't changed much in the last century." Eli said with a laugh. "I bet you both will look stunning."
Alexithymiaa: "Exactly. Even if we went to the store to pick out something new everytime, most of what they sell for us doesnt even change year to year. That's not our fault." He smirked, rustling his own hair.-
Tsaaq: Hayley sighed and shook her head. "Well thanks but I still have to do last minute thingies and it sucks but you're right the end product is fine." She sputtered. // Bliss laughed and shook her head. "Not if you let me shop for you." She rose an eyebrow at Eli. "But that's just a special case I suppose."
Covet: "Oh, that could be fun. I haven't ever had anyone shop for me outside of my mom and that stopped at middle school." he said with a chuckle, "But I'll be your Ken doll if you want."
Alexithymiaa: -He glanced down at his shirt, considering the option for a minute. "What's wrong with the way we dress?" He asked.-
Tsaaq: "Nothing." Hayley answered for him. "Pop culture reference shirts are always in... I think?" She shrugged. // "Oh perfect." Bliss smiled as she tented her fingers. "You're going to look dashing every time we go out." She sighed dreamily. "Oh you dress fine. But I do like to dress people... So I'll jump at the oppurtunity to dress the love of my life."
Covet: "I'll play along if it means I get to see that lovely smile on your face." Eli said with a mushy grin. "But... We can talk more about this later, We should get closed up, but Adam, Hayley. If you two would like to take off, you're free to go."
Alexithymiaa: -He moved his hand to close the catalog he'd been browsing, leaning down to push it underneath the counter in its rightful spot. "I kind of thought so..." He said with a casual shrug, because he didnt honestly care about fashion at all anyway. He moved over to the computer to get himself clocked out, turning to look at Hayley. "Ready to go?"-
Tsaaq: Hayley put the price gun down on the counter and went to walk away from the counter. "Yeah, what are you even worried about?" She stuck her tongue out at him. "Yeah I'm ready. We'll see you guys tomorrow probably, right?" Hayley called out. "Okay everybody good shift." She gave a thumbs up. // "Oh, you're so sweet to me." Bliss whispered as she kissed his cheek. "I like to make you smile too you know." She snickered. "Goodnight Adam, night Hayley." She waved.
Covet: "Oh you make me smile all the time." He told her as he gave her a light pat on the bottom and grabbed the price gun to put it under the counter, 'Yep, we'll see you guys at the party. Drive safe and have a good night." He told them "Lock the door and hit half the lights on your way out please."
Alexithymiaa: -He waved to the two of them, waiting patiently for Hayley as he reached out to take her hand, lacing his fingers with hers so they could get out to his truck together.-
