  1. Lady Legasaurus You know-- grabbing a margarita sounds fantastic right about now. Let's go! Claps Goro on the back again.
  2.
  3. Goro Hideyoshi So long as you don't lose the contest, Mai-kouhai. Lead the way.
  4.
  5. Lady Legasaurus Had no idea there was a contest-- but leads him to a bar-- absolutely not the one Maru was abducted from. Orders herself a margarita and, hm. "What do you want? First drink's on me!" She's absolutely not going to buy ALL of them. He could probably drink half the bar's contents without passing out.
  6.
  7. Rinko Kekuchi heard people were getting drinks?
  8.
  9. Lady Legasaurus Goro and I are going to margaritaville! Join us!
  10.
  11. Rinko Kekuchi grabs her purse! —I'm in!
  12.
  13. Goro Hideyoshi He had to think for a moment, as it had been quite some time since he'd consumed anything alcoholic. "Just a beer for now. And with a straw, please!" Nothing too fancy, to start off. And she certainly wasn't wrong!
  14.
  15. Lady Legasaurus Waits for Rinko to order, too! This round is on her.
  16.
  17. Rinko Kekuchi watches Goro with wide, admiring eyes —so tall! What a man!— before quickly snapping out of it. "A peach margarita, please. But–" Suddenly she's cupping her hands in front of her; there's... a lot of space implied between them. The smile she offers is radiant. "A big one. A biiiiig one. Do you have tiny umbrellas?"
  18.
  19. Lady Legasaurus The bartender is quick to work-- handing Goro an amber colored ale with a straw, sliding Maiko her puny lime margarita, and Rinko an elaborate peach margarita. Complete with an umbrella. Mai eyes it with only a little bit of jealousy!
  20. She hesitates before taking a sip. Should they dedicate this drink to something? Cheers? She raises her glass-- "To us!" Perfect!
  21.
  22. Goro Hideyoshi Had he met Rinko, previously? Well, this was as good a setting as any. Noticing Maiko raise her glass, Goro would gently clink his mug together, and add to her toast: "To those lost, and those we've yet to save." Right before sipping down the entire drink, and setting in on the bar with an appropriate THUD.
  23.
  24. Rinko Kekuchi Brows furrow in thought, but only for a moment. "To friends old, new, and yet to be made." It takes both hands to keep her drink aloft, but it's worth participating in the moment. Her smile still lingers as she takes her first sip— it's fruity and sweet, the alcohol barely noticeable; just the way she likes it. "Uwaaah! So fast!" She lifts both brows at Maiko –where did she find him?– as she beckons the bartender for another beer.
  25.
  26. Lady Legasaurus Man, Rinko and Goro's contributions sounded way better than what she had to say! To that! And that! She takes a sip, preferring to nurse her drink instead of chug it all down. She doesn't want to get to 'Hiro after two wine coolers' tonight, but maybe Hiro after half a wine cooler! Just tipsy enough to relax and have fun, but not so drunk that she breaks everything and makes regrettable decisions. She sets her margarita glass on the bar gently, as if afraid it'd shatter in her hand at any moment. Maiko took a moment to read Rinko's expression, before realizing-- "This is Goro! HAMMERHEAD!" After a pensive pause, she answered the unspoken question. "I found him on campus. He's the brother to one of my students. I told you about him-- this is the guy that lets me throw him!" It was best to get introductions out of the way. "And Goro, this is Rinko. She gives her husband fake fruit, and he nannies my son. She's brilliant." Honestly, she had nothing but wonderful things to say about either of them.
  27.
  28. Goro Hideyoshi Once the bartender was within earshot, he'd clarify, "A sangria, please." Luckily, while he waited the moment it would take, Maiko had already moved on to something more interesting. He chuckled softly at her introduction -- such a proud friend, she was. While it was hard to read his expression due to the helmet, a hand extended towards Rinko from his parted cloak would signal his intentions. "It's in all capitals on paper -- no need to yell. Goro Hideyoshi. It's nice to meet you -- are you a Hero as well?" He certainly didn't recognize her.
  29.
  30. Somnambulist IS HERE, ISN'T QUEER - BUT SHE'S CLOSE. GET USED TO IT.
  31.
  32. Lady Legasaurus BUYS HER A MARGARITA!
  33. Mouths at Rinko: "Yes, you need to yell it!" when she thinks Goro can't see. She's always yelled "HAMMERHEAD," after all!
  34.
  35. Rinko Kekuchi HAMMERHEAD —found, like a penny or a stray. But ALL CAPS! Such vim! Such vigor! Such... aesthetic. Rinko loves it. She takes his proffered hand, pumping it vigorously before letting go. "A pleasure!" Was she a Hero? "Ah– yes! Yes, I am. But, mostly as a consultant or a private investigator, really." Spying Midnight, she frantically (and very obviously) waves the other woman over before facing Goro again. "Your armor is amazing. I quite like it!"
  36.
  37. Somnambulist sliiides into an empty seat at their table. You're lucky I was in the area, you know. Accepting the margarita with a nod, she extends it toward the others in a mock toast before beginning to take generous sips.
  38.
  39. Lady Legasaurus Beams at the sight of Nemuri-- now she's among two of her favorite women! Turns out, Maiko has a lot of favorites. She sips at her margarita, cheeks already warm and flushed. "You only missed introductions." God, she needed this drink after all the Maru bullshit, and after a couple nights failing to hunt down Overhaul. "Has anyone read any tabloids lately?" She felt behind on the latest gossip. And she loved gossip.
  40.
  41. Kubira Muramasa Sat at the bar listening in on the conversations around him while idly sipping a fuzzy navel. Damn fine drink, to hell with the haters. Seemed like some interesting events have transpired in the hero community. Now that's a fun bit of information. Sly smile curled up on lips. The fly on the wall always has such stories to tell.
  42.
  43. Goro Hideyoshi "Oh, interesting! I believe I know of one other like you, though he always seemed... unlucky." He couldn't even remember the man's name. Oh, well. Goro saluted Nemuri as she took a seat with him; he'd been left standing. No chair could hold his heft. With his sangria, straw included, handed to him, he took a short sip and set it on the table. "Apparently there's some American Heroes in town." That was all he'd seen on the news, anyhow. Goro never paid it much mind.
  44.
  45. Rinko Kekuchi Listens with avid eyes. Gossip was always a crucial part of her work, and any that is offered from new or trusted sources would be received eagerly— not unlike the shady figure sitting some ways from them. Rinko's expression brightens. "Oh! I've heard of that, too! They're... from that knight-themed agency, aren't they?" She takes a moment to nibble on her straw, looking pensive. "I hear that Endeavor and Hawks have been spending a lot of time together, maybe. That, and Hizashi-san bought another sports car."
  46.
  47. Somnambulist Hm. Tabloids, tabloids. Gently tapping the pad of her index finger against her chin, she hums thoughtfully - and then snaps her fingers when Goro mentions the new crop of American Pro Heroes. Yes, I think I've seen them! We've been getting so many international heroes, haven't we? She sighs! At this rate, I'll be out of a job. Unless, of course, she decides to go Uwabami's route and pursue a career in entertainment. Eh? Endeavor and Hawks? I thought he hated that guy. Snorting audibly, she swirls her drink in her glass. Oh my God, have you seen it? It's red this time. It's so gaudy, I don't know how he can live with himself.
  48.
  49. Lady Legasaurus American heroes?! Endeavor spending time with Hawks? Hizashi got a car?! This was almost too much for Maiko to handle, and she bounces in her seat with excitement. So much gossip in such little time. At the judgement towards the redness, however, she lets out a small noise. ".... Red's my favorite color." Her hero costume was red! Half her kitchenware? Red. If she had a car, it'd be red. "Is it really that trashy?"
  50.
  51. /me Rinko is quick to soothe, reaching over to squeeze Maiko's knee. "No, no! Red's a <i>great</i> color, Maiko-chan. But in cars? Sports cars, no less? ...<i>ehhhhh.</i>" She makes a 'so-so' gesture with a hand. "They tend to indicate midlife crises." ...Hold old <i>is</i> Hizashi, anyway? "A student destroyed it last year," she explains for Goro. "I think it was a Maserati. Ah, I shouldn't be one to talk—Toyo used to drive this <i>very</i> old-fashioned car– vintage, I mean–" She covers her mouth for a small, tiny burp; "It was <i>grand</i>— but so very extra of him!"
  52.
  53. Rinko Kekuchi Rinko is quick to soothe, reaching over to squeeze Maiko's knee. "No, no! Red's a great color, Maiko-chan. But in cars? Sports cars, no less? ...ehhhhh." She makes a 'so-so' gesture with a hand. "They tend to indicate midlife crises." ...Hold old is Hizashi, anyway? "A student destroyed it last year," she explains for Goro. "I think it was a Maserati. 54. Glass almost empty, she looks up towards the bar... and gasps. "Toyo!" She cranes her head, looking this way and that. "Were you—" Suddenly she purses her lips. "Join us."
  55.
  56. Lady Legasaurus Huh, I thought he looked familiar! Wonders, briefly-- where the baby is? Was he left with Hiro? Kohaku? Both of them were trustworthy, she decided. Kohaku more so than Hiro. She's relieved when Rinko assures her that red is absolutely an acceptable color! She caught Goro's glance and paused-- did he-- was he trying to initiate a staring contest? Challenge accepted.
  57.
  58. kekuchi toyo "That beauty's name is Bonnie, and she sits in our loft lookin' as stunning as she did back in the good ol' days." stares out at the memories playing whilst he wiped a glass clean. he only returns to the 'now' when his wife beckons him over. Toyo is quick to listen to her! leaves the bartending behind to have a few drinks for himself. he starts off with a manhattan and walks his way to his wife and her friends' table. "Hey, baby-- and babes." settles into a seat next to Rinko before he greets everyone with an amiable grin. but, Rinko gets a quick kiss.
  59.
  60. Lady Legasaurus Oh, fuck, they're cute. She's still not sick of them.
  61.
  62. Somnambulist gives Maiko-chan a look while loudly slurping her margarita. "Maiko-chan, sweetie, you know that's not what I meant. Try and see the bigger picture here - he's a grown-ass man buying his second sports car. If that doesn't shout 'impending mid-life crisis', I don't know what does. She attempts to console her colleague by gently squeezing her shoulder. Rinko-chan is right, but don't bring it up to him. He doesn't like to talk about it much. That car was his baby. He cared more about that car than he ever did about most of the students at UA, probably. She raises her hands and cheers when they're joined by another familiar face. Toyo-kun! It's been too long. Oh, and by the way? This margarita is excellent. My compliments.
  63.
  64. Dead As Diaz kermitsip.
  65.
  66. Goro Hideyoshi Even if he was starting a contest like that, it would be difficult to gauge whether or not Goro even blinked. His eyes were crystal blue, but in the lighting of the bar, it was difficult to see them beyond his helmet's sockets. Soon enough, they were joined by another male, who was seated. Either way, he would stand out. "Hello there," he said, offering a nod and, of course, his hand, to Toyo. "I assume you must've heard us speaking, but either way -- Goro. It's nice to meet you."
  67.
  68. Lady Legasaurus After craning her neck to stare up at Goro for an almost uncomfortable amount of time, Maiko silently declared herself the winner. And winners get another margarita. As soon as a bartender walked by, she ordered a refill. Back to the conversation, Maiko actually didn't know what Nemuri meant, but accepted the correction with a broad grin, followed briefly by a look of very real concern. Present Mic didn't really feel that way about their students, did he? She obviously needed another margarita to process this. Had she already ordered one? Were Toyo's drinks as strong as he was? "Nemuri-Chan, Rinko-chan, why would anyone prioritize a car over kids?" The concern was real.
  69.
  70. Rinko Kekuchi On her second, PLUS ULTRA peach margarita now, Rinko mirrors Maiko's concerned look and takes the other woman's question seriously; finally, she shrugs. "Probably because he doesn't have kids of his own." Such a statement is uttered without judgment. "Or... same reason why he doesn't have kids? ...does Hizashi have kids?" She turns to Toyo, then Nemuri with a newfound sense of urgency —that may or may not be driven by supersized peach margaritas. "Goro-san, do you know?"
  71.
  72. kekuchi toyo bounces his attention from one person to another, doing his best to catch up on their conversation. he knows they are talking about hot cars. what a perfect topic for him. "Are we talking about The Cockatoo™ and his new ride?" yes, this is what they are talking about. "Midlife crisis is a myth. There is nothing wrong with a grown-ass man buying his second sports car, Nemuri-babe. .. Even if he .. Could have gone with a less screaming shade of red." taps his chilled martini glass gently against the woman's margarita. "-- It comes with white fuzzy seats, velvet smoothed over dashboard and around the wheel, a huge stereo system in the trunk, and pro hero pez dispensers. I should know; I helped him pick that car." looks ABSOLUTELY PROUD about this. he then stops to catch the hand offered to him and shakes it with a chummy grin. "Toyo. I hope all of you are enjoying yourselves tonight." should he order another drink for Maiko?
  73.
  74. Somnambulist Don't ask me, ask Hizashi. He's the weirdo. Shrugging noncommittally, she polishes off the remainder of her drink before ordering a second. Rinko's question is met with a dismissive wave. Hizashi? Kids? Oh, no, absolutely not. I'm pretty sure that children under five give him hives. And given who he's dating now, I doubt kids'll ever be on either of their schedules. Her second margarita arrives just as Toyo's beginning to raise his glass toward her. Yes, The Cockatoo. Do you call him that to his face, or? Laughing, Toyo's description has Nemuri gently elbowing Maiko's side. See? It's not about the red. White fuzzy seats, Maiko-chan. White. I'll bet you five-thousand yen that he buys a set of fuzzy dice to match.
  75.
  76. Lady Legasaurus Rinko had a point— Hizashi may very well be operating from a perspective that didn't necessarily prioritize children. Crimes and concerns about the safety of kids hadn't really hit her until after Haru was born. It wasn't that she cared before, but... there was a definite shift. Toyo, in his classic, brilliant Toyo-y fashion, drawled on about the importance and validity of Mic's car— he kinda did have a point. But still. Another margarita arrived, and she sipped at it thoughtfully. Huh. "I would literally die for my students. And Haru. and any of your future kids." She almost yelled, a bold but genuine promise. "I have muscles!" To prove a point, she flexed her bicep at the nearest person. "And I'll keep them away from white fuzzy seats!" By them, she meant the kids
  77.
  78. Rinko Kekuchi had yet to see this incredible car in person; she gapes at Toyo's description of it. For a moment she simply sits there, looking amazed as she tries to imagine it. Then, she snorts. That was her beloved husband alright— all the way down to those Pro Hero pez dispensers. A golden sack of testicles was hanging from a gold chain in front of their rearview mirror, for crying out loud. "Tohru? –oh." Suddenly her expression drains of mirth. With her chair shifted closer towards Toyo's, Rinko tugs at his arm so that he'd look at her and covers her mouth with her other: his brother, she mouths at him.
  79.
  80. kekuchi toyo "Oh! That reminds me. Li'l Football and Haku-son are in good hands, Maiko-babe. Left them with Risa in charge." not that Kohaku couldn't babysit on his own. he just didn't want to leave the kid alone, so he called Risa over to help out. his attention returns to Nemuri. "Yeah, I call him that to his face. He gripes about it, but a box of crackers quiets him real fast." the attention shifts onto this Goro friend of his wife and Toyo decides to sit back to just listen. not much to say since he has no idea who the other is and who Tohru is— until Rinko mouths some detail to him. still, Toyo moves his arm to snake it behind his wife's shoulders and tugs her close. real close for him to whisper. "Hizashi says he's going to let me take his new car out for a spin soon. You and me and fuzzy seats, baby. I can hardly wait."
  81.
  82. Somnambulist Mic says just don't leave any love stains on the seats. }
  83. She supposes she'd die for her students, as well. Oddly enough, she's never given the idea much thought - though, that may have to do with the fact that she's never been placed in a position that would require her to think of such things. Hm. Lapping up some of the salt on the rim of her margarita, she turns just in time to see Maiko flex. I'm swooning. I don't recall buying tickets to the gun show, Maiko-chan. Smirking, she offers the smaller woman a wink before turning to Goro and shaking her head. Sorry, I haven't. But - is he alright? He's been looking awfully tired lately. More than usual, I mean. She looks… concerned. Nemuri doesn't like seeing Goro upset.
  84.
  85. Snipe At this point, Snipe made his way in after getting a text from Nemuri. It wasn't too often that Hiroshi got out and did something, so he thought 'why not'. Otherwise, he'd be at home with some beer and working on school-related things. One thing about Snipe, however, is that he was never dressed in anything but his usual Hero costume. Masked features swept about before spotting Midnight where she was, striding toward her and the group she was with. "Good evenin', Midnigh'. Folks." A hat tip to the group given out of respect.
  86.
  87. Rinko Kekuchi Once that strong, muscled arm winds its way around her shoulders, Rinko blinks. Distraction: successful. A brilliant, delighted flush takes over; the hand meant to hide her words now completely covers her mouth, but poorly stifles her giggle. She pulls away —but only just enough to lightly swat Toyo on the side. "Toyo," she hisses. It is almost definitely a 'yes'. Snipe's arrival garners an intrigued glance and a cheery wave, but her attention is quickly on her husband again; cupping the back of his neck, Rinko tugs him down for a kiss that ends in a small, mischievous grin. "Set a date."
  88. Then, another kiss, before he bids the table goodbye. Back to work for him.
  89.
  90. Lady Legasaurus She trusted Risa to watch her son more than she trusted her own brother, so she's thankful that he was left in capable hands. She paused at the mention of Tohru, nodding along in agreement. She'd noticed all those things, too. Tohru was tired, withdrawn— and on top of that, his fellow classmates seemed terrified of him. "I've been keeping an eye on him." Like she'd promised. "I'm going to pull him aside, soon, to check in." Tomorrow. "But, Goro. I don't think he's okay." She knew how okay people behaved— and it was not like that. "He hasn't been to my class."
  91.
  92. Goro Hideyoshi That didn't bode very well. Neither of them had seen much of his youngest -- one of only two, now -- brother, and the last time he spoke with Tohru, the young man seemed ready to murder the next villain he could get his hands on. Of course, Maiko's statement only made things worse. "...Sorry, I have to go. I shouldn't have brought this up, it'll be the only thing I think about... I wouldn't want to ruin your fun." Without much more warning, Goro gave a grin, weaker than those he was known for, and quickly bowed out. He'd pay any tabs later, despite only having had two drinks.
  93.
  94. Lady Legasaurus Maybe she shouldn't have said that-- fuck. What else was she supposed to say? And now, he was retreating to not talk about something that was clearly bothering him. That was such a classic guy thing to do-- and she would be left worrying about two Hideyoshi brothers now. Before she could protest his leaving, he was gone. Visibly frustrated, Maiko sent him a coherent text courtesy of autocorrect. [You need to talk? I'll talk. You won't be ruining anything, Promise.] She looked to Rinko and Nemuri, shaking her head. "That guy cannot seem to get a break."
  95.
  96. Somnambulist "... okay. We'll catch up another time, Goro-kun. Over lunch, maybe?" She offers both Goro and Toyo a parting wave before returning her attention to the two women still in her company. "So I've heard. Poor guy." Propping an elbow against the table, she's resting her chin against the palm of her hand when she spies Snipe in her peripheral vision. She waves him over. "Well, well, well! Finally taking a break from hanging out with all of those top heroes? Paying us commoners a visit, Snipe?"
