  1. OBJECTIVES:
  2. Most of the Snagger class is actually pretty fine as is. The ability to potentially instant KO an enemy trainer's Pokemon is NOT something to be underestimated, and its current feature set fits that well.
  3. However, there are essentially two ways a Snagger could be played - "Heroic", in the sense that they aim to rescue Pokemon from criminal opponents and raise them up into trusted allies (Think of Wes or Michael)... or the Villainous Pokemon Thief type, who doesn't care who he's stealing from and is fine with channeling some freaky shit that might be painful for the Pokemon. A hybrid of these two extremes is also possible.
  4. The point to which this is brought up is the current distribution of Snagger features: of the optional features, only one is really that neutral; about 6 are distinctly "villainous" and only 3 are really "heroic".
  5. In addition, the Shadow Moves offered to villainous snaggers come with a distinct issue of balancing against one another - the three that use Special are almost the exact same move (the only difference is a slight range variance, the 15% status effect chance, and what element gets them STAB), and of the physical options, one has recoil with no real advantage over the special moves, and the other is simply only half as powerful as other options.
  6.
  7. This rewrite aims to offer a full set of options for Heroic-style snaggers and adjust the Villain-style's move selection to be more balanced between physical/special while offering more variety therein.

  10.
  11. Snagger
  12.
  13.
  14. Advanced Feature
  15. Prerequisites: Capture Specialist, Snag Machine (3000)
  16. Ability Bonus: Intelligence Bonuses: +1 INT
  17. Class Features:
  18. Loyalty Meter, Snag!
  19.
  20. Loyalty Meter: Snagger Feature
  21. At-Will
  22. Target: Owned Pokemon.
  23. Effect: By pointing your Snag Machine at an owned Pokemon, you may determine the Loyalty of that Pokemon. Loyalty is measured from 0 to 4. Pokemon with Loyalty 0 dislike their trainer, and/or is commonly used for attacking defenseless Pokemon or people. Pokemon with Loyalty 1 are newly caught, previously wild, Pokemon who don’t trust their trainer and/or are used to commit crimes. Pokemon with Loyalty 2 Like their trainer or were traded to their trainer but are used to commit crimes. Pokemon with Loyalty 3 love their trainers and/or were hatched by their trainers. Pokemon with Loyalty 4 have unbreakable bonds with their trainer.
  24.
  25. Snag!: Snagger Feature
  26. Daily
  27. Target: Owned Pokemon with loyalty 0 or 1.
  28. Effect: Throw any Poke Ball using your Snag Machine as if the target is a wild Pokemon and roll your 1d100 capture roll, subtracting an additional 5 from your check. If you beat the target’s Capture Rate you have captured the target. The Pokemon is mistrustful towards you but just as mistrusting and just as trainable as any wild you would have caught in the wild.
  29.
  30.
  31. Normally, Poke Balls are incapable of capturing a Pokemon already belonging to another trainer, and strict laws reinforce this. Snaggers are Capture Specialists who have broken away from this limitation, however, and with the creation of the glove-like Snag Machine, are able to steal another Trainer's Pokemon. Whether they are heroes seeking to rescue abused Pokemon, or dangerous criminals wanting to make use of those Pokemon's anger, or even just common thieves, crossing a Snagger is a dangerous mistake if you value your Pokemon.
  32.
  33. Mechanic: Shadow is an elemental Type that has no innate weakness or resistances, and hits all targets for neutral-elemental damage. When a Shadow-typed Move is used by a Pokemon that is not Shadow-typed as well, they suffer recoil damage equal to twice their base STAB.
