  1. “Go kite flying with you?”
  2. “Are you asking me out on a date, Anon?” You say curiously.
  3. > Anon pauses as you ask this.
  4. > He lets out an awkward laugh as he scratches the back of his head.
  5. > “Was it that obvious?” He chuckles.
  6. > You blush and giggle.
  7. > “So how about it?” Asks Anon hopefully.
  8. > “Do you want to go on a kite flying date with me?”
  9. > You light up red at his bluntness.
  10. > Anon just smiles down at you; waiting expectantly.
  11. > A shy smile appears upon your face as you paw at the ground.
  12. > Being put on spot like this feels kind of embarrassing.
  13. > The good kind though.
  14. > You look away from him and take in a deep breath.
  15. > Turning back to face him, smiling wide as you do.
  16. > You give him an eager nod.
  17. “Sure, Anon!” You chirp out, bouncing up in spot.
  18. > A huge smile forms on Anons face.
  19. > You continue on.
  20. “I have this new kite that I’ve been DYING to test out!” Your eyes shine as you talk, “It’s shaped like a moth! I made it myself.”
  21. > Anon happily watches you as you go on and on about your new kite and other kite related things.
  22. “—and while box kites are still my favorites, one cannot deny the charm and whimsy of the animal shaped kites.”
  23. “Oh!” You exclaim
  24. “I’ll go teleport back to the castle and get my new kite so that we can get going, Anon.” You say this as you begin to warm up your horn for a quick teleportation spell.
  25. “I’ll be right back!”
  26. > “Wait!” Anon calls out to stop you.
  27. > You turn to him and give him a quizzical stare.
  28. “Why?” You ask curiously.
  29. > Anon smiles in an awkward fashion as he tries to find the words to say.
  30. > “Well, I was kind of hoping that we’d go tomorrow? It’s getting kinda late and I didn’t bring my kite with me.”
  31. > A quiet “Oooh” escapes you as you listen to Anonymous’ sound reasoning.
  32. > You had to admit, he was right.
  33. > Now wasn’t the best time to go and fly kites.
  34. > And he doesn’t even have his with him.
  35. > You got caught up in the moment and forgot yourself again.
  36. > Your nose scrunches up.
  37. > Maybe you came off as too eager?
  38. > Your ears droop as you come to realize that you might have embarrassed yourself in front of your ‘future’ date.
  39. > “So –“Anon speaks up “—tomorrow before lunch?”
  40. > He looks down at you hopefully.
  41. > Your ears perk up once again as you reply.
  42. “Sure!”
  43.
  44. > That night.
  45. “And then he said he’ll meet me over at the field tomorrow!” You say as you pace back and forth inside of Trixies wagon.
  46. > “Mhmm” Trixie replies as she nibbles on her peanut butter cracker.
  47. > “Yum!”
  48. > Trixies tongue wags around as she tries to lick off the smudge of peanut butter stuck to her snout.
  49. “TRIXIE!”
  50. > “Huh?”
  51. > Her head swings over to you swiftly.
  52. > “I’ve never been on a date before! What am I going to do!?” You whine as you stomp your hoof in frustration.
  53. > The poor hardwood floor.
  54. > Trixie smiles at you.
  55. > Hopping off her bed, she makes her way over to your side and pulls you into a half hug.
  56. > “Now, now Starlight, –” She chimes “– don’t you worry pretty little yourself over this~” Trixie gives you a small squeeze before releasing you from the hug and stepping back.
  57. > You ‘eep’.
  58. > “The GRRREAT and EXPERIENCED TRIXIE will help you with Anon!”
  59. > Trixie puffs her chest out and waits.
  60. > Apparently she’s waiting for applause.
  61. > You roll your eyes at her and give her a few clippity-claps.
  62. > Receiving her due reward, Trixie smiles and happily trots on over back to her bed.
  63. “Thanks Trixie.” You say as you giggle inside at how silly Trixie is.
  64. “I didn’t know you were so experienced with dating though.” You say off-handedly.
  65. > Trixie trips and falls face first into her bed.
  66. > Picking herself up quickly, she looks over to the side and lets out a dry cough.
  67. > “I-It’s best not to dwell on the details, Starlight. The important thing is that Trixie is willing to help.” Says the magic mare as she tries to cover up the fact that she TOO has never been on a date before.
  68. “Right.” You deadpan “So what am I going to do Trixie?”
  69. > You walk on over to her bed and plop down beside her.
  70. > Laying on your back, you groan as you think about how disastrous this could turn out for you.
  71. > Trixie falls back and lies down next to you.
  72. > The two of you stare up at the ceiling.
  73. > “Trixie thinks you should try and woo Anon…”
  74. > You dart up from the bed and stare incredulously at the blue unicorn.
  75. > Trixie stares back, confused at your reaction.
  76. “Trixie! Be serious!”
  77. > You shove the mare.
  78. > Trixie shoves you back.
  79. > “Trixie is serious.”
  80. > “Trixie has read enough romance novels to know what happens on dates, Starlight.”
  81. > You look at Trixie and try to see if she was joking or not.
  82. > She wasn’t.
  83. “Go on.”
  84. > “Well, a date usually involves a stallion trying to impress a mare right?”
  85. “…”
  86. > “Right?”
  87. “Rrright?”
  88. > Trixies ear perks up; happy to see that she was indeed correct.
  89. > “And if the stallion does a good job then the mare will start liking him.”
  90. “Yes. That’s a given.” You say blankly.
  91. > Lecture mode Trixie scoffs and continues on.
  92. > “Therefore, Trixie thinks it would be better if Starlight was the one doing the courting.” She says matter-of-factly.
  93. “And why’s that?” You ask confused but mostly curious.
  94. > The sky blue mare gives you a dumbfounded look.
  95. > You shoot her an annoyed glare in return.
  96. > “Weeeell, if Anon is doing the charming then Trixie is one-hundred percent certain that he will pull all sorts of trick to get you to like him.”
  97. > You blush.
  98. > “Anon is crafty. He will romance Starlight into a puddle!” Trixie yells out, throwing her hooves into the air for emphasis.
  99. > “And that then that will definitely lead to hugging you and kissing you and maybe even…” Trixie leans in towards your ear, her face as red as a tomato.
  100. > You wait in suspense.
  101. > What comes after kissing?!
  102. > “He might even boop your nose!”
  103. > Trixie dives into her pillow and squeals.
  104. > You on the other hand just sit there, red faced and confused.
  105. > ‘Trixie can be such a filly at times’ You think to yourself.
  106. > Watching Trixie kicking her hooves in embarrassment makes you blush.
  107. > After kissing comes… comes….
  108. > POOF!
  109. > Your face goes full red as you dive into the pillow next to Trixie and begin squealing along with her.
  110. > This lasts for a few minutes.
  111. > Trixie is the first one to finish her moment.
  112. > Sitting up on her bed, she begins to fix her mane.
  113. > She tries hard to look as if she wasn’t acting like an embarrassed filly mere moments ago, but the blush on her cheeks makes doing so an impossibility.
  114. > You on the other hand keep yourself buried in the pillow, too abashed to look Trixie in the eye at the moment.
  115. “What do I do, Trix?” You groan.
  116. > Trixie straightens out blows her mane away from her face and looks down at you, her eyes flaming with determination.
  117. > “As Trixie said. You take charge. If Starlight is in control then she can choose whether she wants a kiss or something… more—“Trixie turns away from you, her face a deep shade of red.
  118. > You throw the pillow at the blushing Trixie.
  119. “Shut up.”
  120.
  121. > You collapse onto your bed with an exhausted thud.
  122. > You were dead tired.
  123. > That mare on mare talk you had with Trixie lasted well into the night.
  124. > By the time you left, you were already emotionally exhausted.
  125. > And when you came back to the castle, you ended up being greeted by a very worried Twilight.
  126. > A hoof goes up to your forehead as you try and rub away your incoming headache.
  127. > It was your fault for staying out so late without warning.
  128. > Still…
  129. > Twilight sure knew how to lecture someone.
  130. > She must have been taking lessons from the Princess herself.
  131. > You whine as you try and get under the sheets without moving.
  132. > You are unsuccessful.
  133. > Steeling yourself, you use the last bit of energy you have to wriggle your way under the covers.
  134. > Sure you could use magic to float them onto you, but where’s the fun in that?
  135. > It takes a minute or so, but you eventually get in.
  136. > A happy sigh of content flows out of you as you snuggle into your warm blanket.
  137. “Tomorrow will be a brand new day, Star. You’ve got this.”
  138. > And with that you slowly drift off to sleep.
  139. > Fragmented memories of the day prior flit through your mind.
  140. > Just as you are about to fall unconscious, you see the image of Anon kissing you.
  141. “Mmmm~”
  142. > …!
  143. > Your eyes shoot open.
  144. > Slowly your vision recovers itself.
  145. > You end up staring dead straight at a wall.
  146. > Your heart is beating like a drum.
  147. > You can feel your cheeks burning red.
  148. > Your mind was racing with a million thoughts, but only one of them really stuck.
  149. > Tomorrow was your date with Anon.
  150. > You were nervous.
  151. > And excited.
  152. > But mostly EXTREMELY nervous.
  153. “Uuuuurrrrrgghhhh” You groan.
  154. > Tonight was going to be a loooong night.
  155.
  156. > Be Starlight Glimmer.
  157. > Be a very tired Starlight Glimmer.
  158. “Uuuurrrgghhh” You moan as you trudge your way towards the park, your kite in tow.
  159. > You weren’t able to get a peaceful night’s sleep last night and now you were paying for it.
  160. > Your body felt sluggish and stiff.
  161. > You felt like you ate twelve dirt flavored muffins.
  162. > Memories of the offensive baked good flood your mind.
  163. > They were the worst in your village.
  164. “They were horrible. Bleh! ~” You stick your tongue out in disgust.
  165. > Just as you are about to make another comment about the muffins, you spot Anon.
  166. > He’s standing by the side of a tree, a kite held in on hand and a picnic basket in the other.
  167. > You freeze up.
  168. > All the tiredness and exhaustion in your body is washed away, replaced instead with panic.
  169. > YOU ARE ON A DATE WITH ANON!
  170. > All the nervousness from the night before hits you like an apple to the face.
  171. > You freak out.
  172. > You in a brisk and frantic motion as you anxiously run in place.
  173. “WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO STARLIGHT!?” You scream internally.
  174. > ‘You had to calm yourself down’ you thought.
  175. > Taking in a deep breath, you try and control your emotions.
  176. > Just as you begin your damage control, Anon turns around and catches sight of you.
  177. > You go rigid once again.
  178. > Anon places the picnic basket down and waves at you.
  179. > “Hi Starlight!” He calls out.
  180. > Your mind goes mile a minute, trying its best to control the situation.
  181. > Trixies words echo around in your head.
  182. > “And that then will lead to hugging you and kissing you and maybe even…”
  183. > Your cheeks burn scarlet as you think of the last part.
  184. > You watch as Anon picks up the basket and begins to make his way towards you.
  185. > In a moment of panic you do the one thing you know you shouldn’t do.
  186. > You use magic.
  187. > Quickly, you cast a spell, ridding yourself of the feeling of nervousness.
  188. > A warm wave rushes through you, clearing you of the tight, fearful emotion you had but moments ago.
  189. > You let out a sigh of relief as you notice the spell working.
  190. > You felt much, much better now.
  191. > Just in time too, seeing that Anon was standing in front of you while sporting a big, goofy grin.
  192. > “Morning Glimmy!” He sings happily.
  193. > You smile back; your smile just as big as his.
  194. “Morning Anon!” You chirp back in enthusiasm.
  195. > A light atmosphere develops between the two of you.
  196. > Seeing how the day isn’t getting any longer, Anon motions over towards the patch of trees on the other side of the field, hinting that you both should probably get going.
  197. > You give him a nod and melodic hum in response.
  198. > As the two of you walk, you skip happily next to Anon, occasionally brushing against him.
  199. > Occasionally soon turns into frequently, as you find yourself stuck to Anons side.
  200. > This makes him stiffen initially, but soon enough he welcomes the contact and the two of you continue on, talking about all manner of things.
  201.
  202. > “—and that’s when Lyra said that it was amazing seeing how far I can throw a stick and asked me to teach her my ways. I told her that it was a hand thing, but that only made her more aggressive with her demands. After the CMC joined in, I gave up spent my afternoon teaching Lyra and the crusaders how to throw sticks the ‘Anon’ way.” The two of you laugh as Anon finishes his funny story.
  203. > You were having a great time with Anon.
  204. > It was perfect.
  205. > You were having so much fun.
  206. > Flying kites together.
  207. > Talking about your own little adventures
  208. > Joking around.
  209. > All of it felt so natural.
  210. > You really felt like you and Anon were hitting it off.
  211. > You smiled to yourself.
  212. > You watched as Anon laid out the picnic blanket.
  213. > He flapped the sheet around a few times before spreading it upon the grass.
  214. > After finishing the task, he turned to you and smiled.
  215. > A warm, gentle kind of smile.
  216. > You couldn’t help but smile back.
  217. > And so you did.
  218. > Well ‘that’ and you walked up to Anon and gave him a great, BIG hug.
  219. > The biggest of all the hugs you’ve ever given somep0ny.
  220. > Anon yelled out in surprise having not seen the surprise hug incoming.
  221. > Ignoring him, you continued on with your hug, nuzzling your face into his waist.
  222. “Sigh~”
  223. > It felt nice.
  224. > Especially when Anon began to hug you back.
  225. > You felt like a really happy pony right now.
  226. > The two of you held each other for a few minutes, it would have been longer but the sound of hungry stomach interrupted the moment.
  227. > You blushed and gave Anon an apologetic look.
  228. > He smiled at you and mouthed the words “it’s okay” as he begun to take out some of the treats he made.
  229. > Fruit salad, tomato sandwiches, cupcakes and cider.
  230. > You perk up in excitement as Anon pulled out one delicious delight after another.
  231. > The perfect lunch to go along with the perfect date.
  232. > Drool starts to pool in your mouth by the time Anon is done unpacking the picnic basket.
  233. > As you are mesmerized by the food, a small finger makes contact with your nose.
  234. > “Boop”
  235. > You scrunch.
  236. > Anon grins as he hands you a sandwich.
  237. > “Here you go, Star.”
  238. > You happily accept the yummy looking sandwich and begin to tuck in.
  239. > Seeing this Anon grabs a sandwich for himself and begins eating.
  240. > You finish your meal well before Anon has even gotten into his own.
  241. > Another sandwich floats up from the basket and into your hooves.
  242. > You unwrap it and start munching.
  243. > “So –“Anon says in between bites.
  244. > You turn your head and look at him.
  245. “Hmm?”
  246. > “I didn’t think you’d be this hungry. Maybe I should have packed more.” He laughs.
  247. > You pause.
  248. > Your mouth freezes in place, unable to bite down on the scrumptious tomato and lettuce sandwich in your hooves.
  249. > The light sound of Anons laugh fill the background.
  250. > Your ears droop a little as you go red with embarrassment.
  251. > You are torn.
  252. > Your eyes dart between him and the sandwich, seemingly undecided as to what is more important.
  253. > In the end you choose Anon.
  254. > “I’m just teasing you Starry. Go on, keep eat – OOF!”
  255. > You tackle him.
  256. > Anon falls on his back, and you follow along suit, pinning him to the ground.
  257. > You grin down at him.
  258. “I am hungry~” You growl cheekily.
  259. > The cogs in Anons brain get to work deciphering the meaning behind your words.
  260. > Sadly, they aren’t given that much time.
  261. > You playfully chomp down on his ear, nibbling it as he struggles under you.
  262. > A shocked gasp escapes Anon.
  263. > You giggle happily as you pull away; proud of your victory over the crafty Anon.
  264. > You have got to say, being the one in charge sure feels good.
  265. > A proud smirk crosses your lips.
  266. > Looking back down at Anon, your smile drops.
  267. > Anon lays there underneath you.
  268. > He’s just staring at you as you straddle him, your faces are close enough for you to feel each other’s breath.
  269. > As your eyes wander over him, you spot a small piece of tomato stuck to the side of his mouth.
  270. > There it sits, teasing you.
  271. > “Starlight…” Anon begins to say.
  272. > You bend down and kiss Anon, removing the distracting foodstuff.
  273. > Anon goes silent.
  274. > Just as you are about to pull away from him, you feel something wrapping around your waist, holding you in place.
  275. > Anon pulls you in closer.
  276. > Surprise was the first to hit you.
  277. > Followed by confusion.
  278. > Then happiness.
  279. > You were kissing Anon.
  280. > Anon was kissing you.
  281. > You close your eyes and allowed yourself to fall deeper into this pleasant feeling.
  282. > Warm.
  283. > Gentle.
  284. > Happy.
  285. > Your heart was fluttering.
  286. > The two of you kissed.
  287. > And kissed.
  288. > And kissed.
  289. > It wasn’t until a few minutes later when the both of you remember that you both need to breathe.
  290. > Pulling back, you started panting, trying to take in as much of the sweet cool air as possible
  291. > Anon does the same.
  292. > You smile at each other.
  293. > But then it hits you.
  294. > Why were you doing all of this?
  295. > You wouldn’t normally be this… unrestrained.
  296. > The spell you used should have only gotten the rid of your anxiety, but why…
  297. > You internally face-hoof.
  298. > It got rid of your anxiety alright.
  299. > Along with the cause of it.
  300. > That being your inhibitions.
  301. > You groan inside.
  302. > Looking back down, you come face to face with a love-struck looking Anon.
  303. > Your cheeks go red.
  304. > Now that you knew what you were doing you felt all of the panic and nervousness come back like a flood.
  305. “I-I-I- “You stutter out.
  306. > Finally catching his breath, Anon smiles and tries to speak.
  307. > “Starlight –“
  308. > POOF!
  309. > You teleport away in embarrassment leaving an out-of-breath and confused Anonymous in your wake.
  310.
  311. > Be Anon.
  312. > What just happened?
  313. > First Glimmer pushed you down and nibbled your ear.
  314. > Fuck that was hot.
  315. > Then the two of you start making out like your lives depended on it.
  316. > Again, fucking hot.
  317. > Then she teleports away?!
  318. > What?
  319. > You stare off into space as you try and piece everything together.
  320. > Her taste still lingers on your tongue.
  321. > She tasted sweet.
  322. > Just as you are about to fall into a steamy day dream, you hear a rustling coming from the bushes behind you.
  323. > You look over and find Trixie fumbling her way out from the inside the bush.
  324. > Twigs and leaves are stuck to her mane, but she doesn’t notice.
  325. > Like you, she is stuck staring at the place where Glimmer had once been.
  326. > You don’t say anything.
  327. > You just turn to Trixie and give her a questioning look.
  328. > She turns to look at you, her eyes shining with admiration.
  329. > “Trixie never would have thought that Starlight would be THIS amazing at dating.”
