  2. The path he'd taken that day had slowly became his favorite way home from school, but that never meant his feeling of being watched ever faded, in fact sometimes he could swear he sees some read in the forest as he passes through daily, but by now it's never seemed possible for it to be anything besides his imagination, after all, he's been walking along here for so long, and it's never done anything yet.
  3. This time, he adjusted his bag on his shoulders more, having finally grown into the blue hoodie his father bought for him, despite only having grown to about 5'0, he still proudly would show off that he did, in fact, grow as he said he would. Albeit, sadly accepting that this was probably the tallest he was going to get, not counting his ears. While he was half way along the path however, he paused again, eyes flickering around as he heard another noise. Now, while he might be used to hearing it, that never meant his instincts at all stopped reacting to it. His little pawed feet twisting into the dirt, ready for flight if he had to be, even though he knew himself it was nothing,
  4. When nothing happened for a bit though, he slowly eased up and began to walk along the pathway, unaware that just like the other times before this one, there was someone following him, and that this was the day he'd intended to make a move.

  7. Dave had been watching John through the years, staying hidden in the bushes and doing his best to not get caught. Though despite how much he practices he still manages to step on either a twig or some dried leaves and give his position away momentarily. He'll have to work on watching where he's going and keeping an eye on the bunny. The chances of him wanting to kill him over the years were slim to none as he was still learning and it might of only lead to a game of cat and mouse with some wrestling since he still relied on his brother to bring home the food.
  8. But right now, he wasn't sure what he wanted to do. He could just continue to stalk him and maybe wrestle if he got the chance, or he could actually try and kill him. His ears were perked forward and his tail along with his body were low to the ground as he started to follow along once his pray started to move again. He always wore a red and white shirt with black knee length pants. He left his bag somewhere in the hollow of a tree to keep it hidden while he stalked the bunny who's managed to grab his attention and keep it for all these years

  11. John though, was pretty blissfully unaware. He's been along this so many times and nothing much has really happened, so by now he's just become finally assumed that he's pretty okay, And for once, Dave is being decently quiet. Which would keep John from getting suspicious again.
  12. Now that John was 16 though, His dad was finally allowing him to stay out after school, as long as he sticked to a curfew. Usually, he'd go hang around blockbuster or the park. This time however, he decided on picking one of the larger, more shaded areas under a tree and resting against it. Setting his school bag down to the grass as he let his ears flop down and relax.Tail only twitching every now and then when a breeze would brush across it. His legs were easily pulled up to his chest and kept there by his firm paws on the ground.

  15. Dave stayed in the underbrush as he watched John, sitting down and letting his tail sway a little as he finally relaxed. Though seeing him like this, just made him all that more confused. If he's suppose to hunt guys like John, then why is attacking him the last thing on his mind? He scratches behind one of his ears as he sighed, shaking his head. He slowly creeps up a little, curiosity getting the better of this cat, but he refused to get to close in fear of scaring him off or giving himself away. He's a good six feet behind the tree when he lays down on his stomach, tail up and swaying behind him with his ears perked towards where John was. Ready to walk up or bolt depending on the situation or if there are other predators around.

  18. Lucky for Dave, John didn't hear a thing. Otherwise he'd be a lot more on edge, but instead he was rummaging through his bag right now, looking around for his ipod for some music while he relaxed, but as he looked through one pouch... he looked through another. And then another. And then the small pouch in the front of the bag... But didn't find it. That clearly upset John though as he huffed and tossed his bookbag to the side with a huff. His ears remained drooped and he teared up. Admitedly... it probably was inside the bag. It was just that his kind were more keen of getting emotional in many ways, angry, sad, horny, happy. Everything. "God damn it! It's my luck isn't it."
  19. He scooted over and grabbed his bag again, however... when he turned to look at his previous spot, behind the tree not far away, he saw a set of ears, and seemed confused... but considering he was in prey grounds, he only could assume it was another prey. So he walked over to the ears and leaned down where he was already crouched to look at him

  22. Dave tensed up a little when he saw John walking over, his tail bushing out as he tried to keep as low to the ground as he could. He had the urge to hiss and bolt since he could get in trouble for being on prey grounds. But he didn't, instead he just hoped John didn't notice he was a cat right now as he tried to hide a little further into the underbrush.
  23. Keeping his red eyes trained on John, part of him was regretting getting this close, while the other half was just a little hopeful he'd get to talk to the guy he's been following for a good few years, though he should probably leave that part out of it for the first meeting. It'd make things all kinds of awkward and that's not what he's aiming for if they do get to talk without john screeching and bolting.

  26. Now that John was closer... He could tell what kind of ears they were, and his class plenty warned him about the animals... but. Cats were pretty low on the spectrum. I mean, it's not like he's a wolf. Still, Johns hair all floofed up. Now, in this fight or flight esque situation... His mind was still trying to process what to do... But his john part of his brain was like "they're still people, they probably can be talked down if you approach it correctly."
  27. He slowly walked a bit more to him but still kept a bit of a distance. slowly he got down on all fours to be kind of level with him. His nerves growing more and his voice was now... low and squeaky as he forced out; "...hi."

  30. Dave was more then a little surprised at John's reaction, tilting his head slightly and watching the bunny in front of him. After a moment of consideration his ears perked towards him, showing he was listening and a bit intrigued. "hey" His own voice was low, wanting to make sure he didn't startle him and well because he was also a little nervous in this situation. Seems that both of them have a lot riding on this interaction going okay, but for different reasons. However, he made now move to get up or even sit up. Dave stayed laying on his stomach with his tail now curled close to his side, figuring that was better then having it fluffed out and low to the ground. Trying to avoid as many chances of misinterpretation as he possibly can

  33. They stayed there in silence for a few moments, johns ears stucked taught to his head, shuffling just barely towards him but clearly being cautious, johns still very conflicted but, he wanted to show in some way that he's not about to run off. Weither it's to try and make some kind of false sense of security or if it's to show he's trying here, even he doesn't know.. He sniffed him from where he was slightly, making some attempt at being subtle there but probably not succeeding. He tries to interact more though, even just a little. "...nice tail?" ... smooooooth

  35. MysticMother02/20/2019
  36. Dave quirked an eyebrow slightly at that, completely noticing the other was sniffing him. Though it does work as he slowly calms down, relaxing a little and letting his tail sway slightly behind him while his ears perked towards John. "thanks?" Dave does however lean forward slightly, sniffing John in return. Honestly he may be accepting the odd sense of security, but he's staying low to the ground to try and keep from making any sudden moves. It's a very tense moment fore both of them it seems.

  39. John only leaned back slightly when dave moved forward, so that's a solid sign that he's at least less scared. He kinda, glanced around for a minute to decipher if he could see anyone else, but he couldn't. "Uh." Was his first attempt at sparking any kind of convo again after a minute or so, this cat seemed to be doing nothing which was great, he figured he'd be yknow. Tackled or dead by this point. So that's a good sign. He wanted to try and talk with him more in hopes of keeping his interest. "so.... who are you?" 3 words? Wow thats a miracle in this situation for him.

  42. Dave seemed to settle in his spot once he'd gotten the sniff and shifts to adjust himself to get a little more comfortable. He was more then a little interested in John, which is probably why he refused to do anything that might scare the bunny off. "im dave strider. whats your name?" He kept his tone soft to match the others, head tilted slightly as one ear fell to the side while the other stayed perked towards John. Even his tail was starting to sway a little now, guess he's starting to realize (slowly but surely at least) that everything's going way better then it probably should of.

  45. Most likely because John is so dense that he's not realizing the danger he's in, at least not fully. "john egbert." He was hoping the other didnt start mocking his last name, knowing it's not the most common one there is but he thought it was yknow. Kinda cute? To a degree. Though John frankly is considering why he's still here, he may have a longer curfew but he's still most certainly going to get in trouble if he stays out here to long. Speaking of out here. "Why are you here?"

  47. MysticMother02/23/2019
  48. Dave gives a little shrug, well he can't say he didn't expect this question. Though he did expect it a little sooner, but beggars can't be choosers. Though he does make a mental note to remember John's name. "ive honestly been wanting to talk to you for a while now, but never thought id get the chance to since....well.." He gestures between them to what he thought was the obvious. "and i wasnt really sure id ever get the chance to." That's part of the truth, when he was young he just wanted a friend to play with, and that's true even for now. Though he is still thinking about why he doesn't feel the slightest urge to hurt him since it's obvious he's prey. He's more then a little confused by that, but he'll think about it later, or bring it up later. He's not sure which

  51. "yeaaaah, your claws and sharp teeth aren't the most welcoming sight knowing you all usually want our throats clamped and caught in your jaws." He stated matter of factly, tail twitching every now and then, naturally without much thought on it. He really didn't know where to go with this conversation frankly. "Should, I just be heading home? or did you still want to talk with me for some reason unknown?"
  52.
  53. MysticMother02/23/2019
  54. "honestly killing you has never even crossed my mind. like i know i should want to from what im told, but i dont." He offers a shrug, pretty much waiting for the other predators to start calling him a dud. He can fight well and hold his own, but the urge to hunt this bunny just completely missed him. If he's lucky it'll get blamed on the fact he's a cat and it'll be left at that. "what about you? why didnt you run away?"
  55.
  56. ExemplaryCalico02/23/2019
  57. "Probably because I know you can outspeed me if it really came down to it so there was really no point, not to mention the fact talking to you seemed to confuse you so clearly it was the best tactic for escaping." He stated, looking at him like it was pretty obvious. Maybe it was just john's twisted logic, which frankly would surprise no one considering how foolish the kid can get sometimes with his ideas.

  59. MysticMother03/03/2019
  60. Dave quirked an eyebrow at that, actually giving a slight snort as he relaxes a little more. Okay, talking to him was the best option and he doesn't regret it. "or maybe youre just as curious about me as i am about you?" Yeah he's trying here, as well as admitting to being curious about the bunny boy. Not to mention the fact he already likes this guy's personality and this is the most they've said to each other.

  63. John's nose scrunched up slightly, shrugging his shoulders ever slightly at that. Hey, it's true but it's not like he's about to straight up admit to it. "i highly doubt it's that, after all dad does warn me about how heartless killers like you don't waste time to pounce on meek pray like rabbits, so it's either dumb curiosity or a death wish i didn't even know myself that i had." he laughs near the end, finding the scenario a little amusing

  66. Dave rolled his eyes slightly at that, but does chuckle a little. "doubt id kill you even if i had someone demanding id do it. the 'drive' some call it just isnt there when youre involved." He shrugs his shoulders, it might of been just curiosity but he's not one to judge. Especially not considering the situation he'd gotten himself into
