Today interview is with Thylen, long time Sweden president and tank, as he say "Loved by few, hated by many..."

- Tell us something about yourself...
How I came to be in this game is, I remember making an account on another game like this in 2010-ish and playing it for like a week or so. I didn't really think much of it and I stopped playing. Until randomly in 2017 I remembered the game for some reason and started playing it again for another week. I was nowhere near the old players so I felt useless, but I still tried.  Then to my luck, that was the week that Edom launched. I got referred by Skofjaloka for exchange in gold if I level up to 20 in edom. I'll be honest, if that lvl 20 wasn't the requirement, I don't think Id be playing edom at all :D. But I got hooked, since I was competitive with the fresh start. I've been playing it ever since apart from the 1 year-ish break I had when the game wasn't being updated. Up until 2019, I was a citizen in Slovenia without any production and just hitting in OHs for fun. As You and most of the other folks know, I am now a Swedish president.

- I see you buy golds for RL here... is it much? I bet your referral is very happy about it...
I've been a VISA player for a while now but only stopped paying so much for the game about half a year ago instead to manage my finances better. I am still a student afterall... I have a good enough production now to afford packs with gold and it satisfies my needs unless there is a war, in which case I spend a bit too. I was not a VISA player at all in the beginning when I was playing in Slovenia. So when skofjaloka randomly checked edom again and came back, he messaged me out of surprise due to the gold I accumulated him over the time haha

- Who is Thylen in RL?
Thylen is just turning 22 this week and his real name is Tilen. I am a Slovenian citizen living in the capital city Ljubljana. I currently study Graphic design/animation and I am doing as much student work as possible to make some BIG bucks €.
Corona ofc has set back some plans but I have no worries about my future. I think I've learned a lot from it if anything.

- Why did you choose this nick?
Well first off I was named Tajln, which is pretty much just a nickname for my real name. But when I moved to Sweden, I changed the name to Thylen, which (by my research) is a very rare name in Scandinavia/Sweden. Plus I think it sounds cool :D.

- What is most fun thing you did in edomi?
The most fun things I did in edom is definitely the trolling, just having fun with the peeps in Sweden and all. One other example is when Kumans joined Sweden, how estatic I was (amazing and interesting people to say the least). But nothing beats the early days of edom, when we had the world wars with AEGIS vs Allies and the amazing OHs in battles.

- What aspect of game you like the most and why?
I would have to say that personally I enjoy politics and HQ composition mostly, since the game is meant to be roleplayed. It is fun to see the actions of an HQ transpire after it has been established, since every person has different thoughts and ideas of situations, which creates many different outcomes.

- You are from Slovenia but you play for Sweden. Why did you leave Slovenia?
This decision became real when I started playing again after the 1 year pause. When I came back, Slovenia was in scrambles and it was in a full out war vs Turkey. Since I had no stock or anything due to me literally not even 2-clicking for 1 year, I couldn't help dmg-wise. So the next best thing I could do was found a colony somewhere in Europe to develop and use for help when established for future wars against Slovenia. I first moved to Denmark with Secret Melody. Turkey unfortunately managed to wipe Slovenia at that point in time, and our colony was still at the early founding stages. We have made quite a progress there, reaching a population of about 10-20 active players at first. But due to some disagreements between me and Secret Melody, the Danish colony failed miserably and I was invited to Sweden by the OG players there such as Bannerlord and TictacMF, which had some beef with Secret Melody but had good relations with me. They said that they needed someone to lead them and I offered help. Ever since then, I've tried my best to keep these guys happy. Long story short, my pilgrimage was started for the sake of the defense of my homeland Slovenia, but it developed into much more than that. Sweden and Slovenia have stayed in the best relations ever since I've come here and I plan to retain these relations forever. No wipe was in sight for our friends yet, but when and if that day comes, the enemies will surely feel our presence. :slight_smile:  - How is community in Sweden and what are specific about that community in your experience? This is one of the best things of the game. I've instantly fell in love with the community here when I joined. Just a bunch of positive and layed back players I could have ever met. Bannerlord who helped me immensely and made me keep my sanity on this everlasting CP position, Sweboss the loyalist 420 seer, Desrever the shroomy berserker who is always online and always wants war even if he has 20 ADs in his storage,  Flash the living calculator RW god (sry but no sry papiga), Akmuo the AD generator and all the others that have stayed in this community for so long. We play to have fun and joke about it in the meantime.

 - You are long time Sweden president, 12 times for now... Don't you get bored?
 Its a bit more than 12 actually since I forget to put myself for president each month a lot . But in short, yes. I do get bored a lot or rather overworked. Since I have no other candidates for the throne, I often just don't have the will to do stuff and it shows in-game for others too. One month I'm arranging stuff and the next I'm just a ghost. But I think everyone understands that. RL and sanity is more important after all.  - How are you relations with neighbors? I know it was sparkly with Canada few months ago when you issued them ultimatum to leave Greenland...  As of today, I think I have perfect neighbors :smile: Everything worked out as we wanted and Scandinavian borders are as beautiful as ever. As for the Canadian ultimatum, I've warned them a long time ago that I don't appreciate them coming into Scandinavia without any warning, but they still did. Besides, the game needed some action and hopefully these events spiced it up a bit. We've seen some exciting battles even after our war - with Greece vs Albania and they have quenched the thirst for fun for a lot of players I think and hope.

- And now we see Greenland is occupied by Ireland?
Yes. There was an incident earlier regarding Greenland between Canada and Ireland which they resolved with our intervention to split it in half. As I requested to Canada, I didn't want them coming into Scandinavia though, and they started occupying the whole Norwegian region. The loss of the Greenland regions for Canada was more of a punishment for that than anything else and at the same time we don't have borders between each other, which I think is for the best.

- You were on same side with Virtus at the time, and then later you allowed Atlas to have orgs in Sweden in exchange for leaving you alone, after that some MPPs...
This is a more delicate topic, as a lot of people are still misinformed and get riled up quickly over it. Anyway, Sweden never joined Virtus for the sole purpose of not having any obligations towards the alliance. I've made that clear to Kinyas before it all unfolded. We have helped their members and they have helped Us.
We've received way too harsh of a treatment for that from the Virtus alliance (apart from some countries), going from insults to spreading misinformation between each other which in turn made me warn Kinyas (not threaten), that if they keep this up, Sweden is eventually going to drift away from them in relations. We were neutral at that point, but they were slowly pushing Us towards the other side. Anybody can understand that and it's pretty straight forward. The reason behind the MPPs was then simple.

- Many people say that it's easy when you have Greece/Gama protection...
They say that for every country that is allies with them. Its just how it is and it will never be different. They are players too as is everyone else and they deserve to play just like the rest of us. Not only are they great allies, they are also fun and chill people to talk to.

- In your articles and shouts you like to troll Georgia...
I made a troll article for Georgia as a counter-roast to their article against us when we declared war against them, and I think that's one of the most amazing things you could do with the enemy. It was fun as hell and both sides had a great laugh :smile:

- Why you think many players hate you? It says on your profile: "Loved by few, hated by many, respected by all."
I've actually got this quote when creating my MU (Hells Angels). It is a biker gang that is known and present around the world's countries. But to answer your question, I think people hate me for my trolling such as the sudden double war declaration as my latest action ^^

- What do you don't like in (some) other players?
Well I don't like to focus on the negative things, but I think everyone should just play the game and relax. A lot of people take it too seriously and end up lashing out at others, possibly even insulting them (this mostly happens for IRL problems between countries).

- What do you think needs to be changed in this game? What would you like?
There is a lot that could be added to the game and so many more possibilities for the game to expand visually and mechanically. The dev team is small and things are progressing in sink with that, which is completely fine as long as new updates are coming. And they are ;). Economic module could be tweaked and energy production too. As we saw in the latest wars, tanking is the new meta and I don't think that should be the case unless the game implements an autoclicker feature.  User friendliness is also an issue in browser games in general. Edom definitely needs that improved. A great example for a better UI is the new RW timer update, it is amazing.

- How much time you spend here?
Hehe well it really depends on the day/month and how much work I have irl. When I'm on the computer, I always have edom opened in the background, whatever I might be doing. So at that time I'm always available. I can't really give you actual timing but I mostly just check for new things/notifications every now and then. I don't really write too much in the chat apart from the occassional trolling or informing Swedish citizens. While at war, I try to be as active as possible, since my HQ isn't very big. just me and Flash lately.
Suprisingly tho, I don't really spend too much in the game, as I try to be time efficient but also lead the country to the best of my abilities.

- Tell me how is your character in game alike you in RL?
Just trying to have as much fun as possible, since this is a game after all. That being said, I try to be a little bit more extreme (so to say) in the game than I am in real life. I don't hate anybody in the game or have grudges, even the Macedonians that tried to PTO Sweden a while back. It's all for roleplay and entertainment so we have some drama and fun. I don't hate my enemies for real, only in game for rivalry purposes and tastier wars ;). In some aspects I see myself being similar to my character, but I tend to be unpredictable at times I guess.
