Algus Fungalspore, Shroom Farmer
Lawful Good Goblin Fungalmancer
Algus was a simple goblin from a community of smallfolk (goblins, halflings, gnomes) who had built themselves a comfortable, self-sustaining villiage deep in the forest. Everyone learned  a special skill that would contribute to the group, and Algus's skill was shroom farming. Everyday he would wander through the forest, spreading spores and collecting the grown mushrooms that were then used as food, light sources, and whatnot.
One day he wandered too close to the edge of the forest and was seen by a group of adventurers. He tried to run, but they caught him, killed him without a second thought and looted his corpse, even after the DM insisted they wouldn't get anything for killing and plundering an innocent stranger. Unsatisfied with the lack of loot, the hobos headed deeper into the forest and toward the village. Little did they know that behind them the DM's revenge was stirring. Algus returned to life on a bed of mushrooms, his body now spongy and infused with Mushroom Power. Rushing to save his vililage, he discorporated in a puff a spores and reappeared on the roof of the village center just as the adventurers arrived. As they spotted each other, he lept from the roof and transformed into a giant shoombear. The fight that followed was a statiscal anomally. Algus inexplicably crit almost every other hit, and no matter how much damage the party did, it was never enough to beat the healing power of the shrooms. In the end the adventurers were all killed and their bodies digested by fungus, their days of murder now over.
In the aftermath, it became clear that the village's isolation was no longer enough protection. As the village hero, Algus was sent out as soon as he'd trained an apprentice in the ways of the mushroom. His mission: To inform the surrounding kingdom of their existence. To seek out new allies and find protection. To boldly go where no fungus had gone before!
