  16. All of the following are Class Features of the Expert class.
  17.
  18. Weapon and Armor Proficiency: An Expert is proficient with all simple weapons, as well as Light Armor.
  19.
  20. Title (Ex): At 1st level, the Expert gains a title related to his area of study, such as "Artisan" or "Blacksmith." The Expert uses that title instead of Expert as his class name.
  21.
  22. Replaceable (Ex): Adepts represent the faceless hordes of frail artificers, farmers, and blacksmiths. They are intended to be easy to use, and relatively easy to replace. Instead of worrying about the feats that an Expert has, simply give Expert a +3 competence bonus to all trained skill checks for each feat they would be eligible for.
  23.
  24. Expert Skills (Ex): At every level, the expert gains 2 ranks in three skills of his choice, and his maximum ranks for all skills increases by 2.
  25.
  26. Skillful (Ex): A 3rd level Expert qualifies for all skills usages that would normally require a feat or class feature such as Trapfinding.
  27.
  28. Magic Crafting (Ex): At 5th level, the Expert can pretend to have any [Item Creation] feat. Their caster level for crafting is directly proportionate to the CR of the materials they are working with. For the purposes of crafting, they can duplicate any spell that a wizard, cleric, or druid of their fake caster level would be capable of casting. The materials used must be thematically related to the crafted item.
  29.
  30. Trading out Expert Levels: Expert levels aren't capable of doing anything good. If for some reason an Expert became a badass character, he becomes a member of a real character class. That is, simply trade levels of Expert for appropriate levels in a real skillmonkey class.
