13. We study the possibility of having three generations of fermions in a model based on the octonions. We show that the octonionic algebra is the algebra of the three generations of fermions. We also show that the three generations of fermions can be obtained from the three generations of quarks and leptons by means of a $SU(3)$ transformation.

18. The standard model of the electroweak interactions is based on the $SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y$ gauge group. The fermions of the standard model are organized in three generations. The three generations of fermions are the quarks and the leptons. The quarks and the leptons are organized in three families. The quarks and the leptons are organized in three generations.
