Aftermath of Major Tremor

Mr_Wilt: The building starts to rumble, the windows rattling you'd swear they would break.
[1:14pm] NachtRuine: "No prob - " Zach is interrupted by the rumbling. He remains quiet, trying to at least look calm.
[1:14pm] Alivi: Eriko seems visually disturbed. "Z-Zach...
[1:14pm] DrSavage: Adam glances to the walls. "Excuse me one second, you two." He walks out, heading toward the sub bay.
[1:14pm] Alivi: Eriko sees Adam go, she gets up quickly.
[1:15pm] Alivi: "Adam wait!"
[1:15pm] Mr_Wilt: A head-splitting croon accompanies the shaking, as the PA system and radios alike begin to screech with static.
[1:15pm] TheRaven: Taggart heads into rec, listening closely to the sounds to see if there's anything more to them.
[1:15pm] DrSavage: Adam looks back, still walking. "What?"
[1:15pm] Alivi: She goes after him only to stop her hands over her ears as the PA systems and radio screeches. She Sits against the walls.
[1:16pm] NachtRuine: "It'll pass, Eriko, don't worry!" His facade isn't very strong.
[1:16pm] Alivi: "Its dangerous..."
[1:16pm] DrSavage: Adam only keeps walking. He stop and stares at the pool. "Shut the /fuck/ up."
[1:18pm] Mr_Wilt: Adam is stopped before he reaches the sub bay by Security.
[1:18pm] NachtRuine: Zach goes over to Eriko. "I'm right here with you."
[1:18pm] Mr_Wilt: He does not get a glance at the Pool.
[1:18pm] TheRaven: Taggart sits in rec, listening. "Fuck..."
[1:18pm] Alivi: She still has her hands over her ears.
[1:18pm] Mr_Wilt: The shaking and crooning continue. A crashing noise comes from the cafeteria.

[1:19pm] DrSavage: Adam heads to the cafeteria, quiet.
[1:19pm] NachtRuine: Zach just sits with her, praying that this will end soon.
[1:20pm] Mr_Wilt: The screeching on the PA and radios increases in pitch, until a sudden upsweep causes them to pop at different intervals, the speakers breaking.
[1:20pm] Mr_Wilt: The crooning stops, and soon, as does the shaking.

[1:21pm] Alivi: Eriko flinches and lets out a surprised cry when they break.

[1:21pm] NachtRuine: Zach is getting a headache from the screeching. "Eriko, you alright?" His voice sounds a little strained.
[1:22pm] DrSavage: Adam walks into the caf.
[1:22pm] Alivi: She still has her eyes closed and her hands over her ears.
[1:22pm] TheRaven: Would Taggart have heard the noise in the caf from rec?
[1:22pm] ShockwaveLover: Duncan sprints past the rec room, swearing.
[1:23pm] NachtRuine: Zach taps her on the shoulder. "Hey, you alright there?"
[1:23pm] Mr_Wilt: The cafeteria's far wall as sustained heavy damage, blood covering the floor.
[1:23pm] Mr_Wilt: Taggart likely didn't, over the other noise.
[1:24pm] TheRaven: "Dunc! You have any idea what the fuck's going on?"
[1:24pm] Mr_Wilt: A huge puddle of red covers the floor, leading outside.
[1:24pm] ShockwaveLover: "Not a sodding clue!"
[1:25pm] TheRaven: "Fuck. We're not getting paid enough for this shit."
[1:25pm] Alivi: Eriko looks over at Zach lowering her hands. "Yea..."
[1:25pm] DrSavage: Adam follows the red.
[1:25pm] ShockwaveLover: He keeps going, eventually skidding to a halt outside to office door of one S. Corbette.
[1:25pm] TheRaven: Taggart follows him.
[1:25pm] Alivi: Eriko stands up shaking.
[1:25pm] Mr_Wilt: Research is a floor below the ground floor, and the rec is in the third floor.
[1:25pm] NachtRuine: "Good. Wouldn't want you to be hurt. How're yer ears?" Again, he sounds a little strained.
[1:26pm] ShockwaveLover: Yes. Hence why he kept going.
[1:26pm] Alivi: Eriko stands and nods. "Hurt…."
[1:26pm] Mr_Wilt: Just a bit of a jump there

[1:27pm] Alivi: She looks at Zach.
[1:27pm] Alivi: "You ok...?"
[1:27pm] DrSavage: Adam continues following the red.
[1:27pm] ShockwaveLover: Duncan pounds on the door. Now is not the time for niceties.
[1:27pm] Mr_Wilt: There is no reply. Corbette is currently at the sub bay, over in #redpool. (so people can watch)
[1:27pm] NachtRuine: "Oh, uh... I-I'm fine. I've heard worse from my sister."
[1:28pm] Mr_Wilt: The red stops a few yards out.
[1:28pm] ShockwaveLover: "Corbette, don't you make me break down this door!"
[1:28pm] Alivi: Eriko looks and nods. She is shaking still.
[1:28pm] Alivi: "What if there are aftershocks?"
[1:28pm] TheRaven: "Goddammit."
[1:28pm] Mr_Wilt: Still no reply
[1:29pm] ShockwaveLover: "Fucker's probably huddling under his desk."
[1:29pm] NachtRuine: Zach gives her a hug to try to comfort her. "I'll be right here. We'll make it, don't worry."
[1:30pm] Alivi: Eriko nods. She hugs back.
[1:30pm] ShockwaveLover: The tall man tries his radio. "Schwarz to Command, come in Command. Over."
[1:31pm] DrSavage: Adam discover anything at the end of the trai?
[1:31pm] Mr_Wilt: All the radios just broke.

[1:31pm] NachtRuine: "You want me to be quiet for now? Let your ears settle a little?"
[1:31pm] ShockwaveLover: "Fuck me sideways, circuit's completely dead. Right Tags, looks like we're on Search and Rescue duty. Christ knows what that last shock did to the place."

[1:32pm] ShockwaveLover: "Okay, first stop, the caf. Then we'll check Medical."
[1:33pm] DrSavage: Adam walks back to the cafeteria. Can he find any of the person the blood used to belong to?
[1:33pm] TheRaven: Taggart heads towards the caf, unslinging his rifle.
[1:33pm] ShockwaveLover: Giving the door a last, baleful glare, Duncan heads with him.
[1:34pm] Mr_Wilt: There's way too for it to be one person's, but there are no corpses.
[1:34pm] Alivi: Eriko shakes her head.
[1:35pm] DrSavage: Adam takes a vial from his pocket, gathering some of the blood.
[1:35pm] ShockwaveLover: "Why does this seem like the start of something bigger?"

[1:35pm] TheRaven: "I don't know, but I get that feeling too."

[1:36pm] Mr_Wilt: Taggart and Duncan arrive at the caf. They see a broken wall, Adam, and an ungodly amount of blood convering the floors, leading outside

[1:36pm] Mr_Wilt: There are no corpses
[1:36pm] ShockwaveLover: "Fucking hell!"
[1:37pm] ShockwaveLover: Duncan snaps his SCAR up, covering Adam.
[1:37pm] TheRaven: "Oh shit."
[1:37pm] NachtRuine: "I'm not going anywhere, so don't worry."
[1:37pm] ShockwaveLover: "Devan! Get the hell away from that!"
[1:38pm] Alivi: Eriko leans against the wall.
[1:38pm] DrSavage: Adam puts the top on the vial, walking to Duncan and looking back at the blood. "We need to know what this is."
[1:38pm] ShockwaveLover: "I'll tell you what it is. Trouble."
[1:39pm] ShockwaveLover: "Tags, where does that trail go?"
[1:39pm] TheRaven: Survival necessary for tracking, or is it obvious?
[1:39pm] ShockwaveLover: Duncan tries to make a quick estimate of how many people could have produced that much blood.
[1:40pm] NachtRuine: Zach just looks at her. His brow occasionally twitches slightly.
[1:40pm] DrSavage: "Out into the hall is all. I don't think anyone died. At least, there's no true evidence of it. This may not even be human blood."
[1:41pm] ShockwaveLover: "Christ...SLJ is gonna need a bigger mop."
[1:41pm] Mr_Wilt: It's obvious it goes out into the snow outside, then stops
[1:41pm] TheRaven: "There."
[1:41pm] Mr_Wilt: Duncan, it could be well over three people worth
[1:42pm] ShockwaveLover: He files that away for later examination. "Alright. You stick with us until we've made sure there's nothing else going on. Then we'll get you to Research."
[1:42pm] ShockwaveLover: "Do you know where anyone else was?"
[1:43pm] TheRaven: "I'm...I'm going to go pick up something from armory that I've been testing out for a while. I think we're gonna need more firepower for whatever's going on. Meet you in medical?"
[1:43pm] DrSavage: Adam pockets the vial. "Lead on." He withdraws his own pistol.
[1:43pm] ShockwaveLover: "Alright."
[1:44pm] Alivi: Eriko looks at Zach worried.
[1:44pm] ShockwaveLover: "Adam, do you know where anyone else was?"
[1:44pm] NachtRuine: Zach goes to sit back down, fumbling a little on the way.
[1:45pm] Alivi: Eriko looks at Zach concerned. "Z-Zach… you ok?"
[1:46pm] DrSavage: "Zach and Eriko are near rec. Let's move."
[1:46pm] TheRaven: Taggart drops down to armory, where he picks up the Valkyr .300 Winchester, as well as a supply of ammo and magazines, then heads to medical.
[1:46pm] NachtRuine: "Yeah, fine. Just a small headache is all. Like I said, I've had worse headaches from my sister."
[1:47pm] ShockwaveLover: "We'll meet Taggart at Medical first." He starts walking.
[1:47pm] ShockwaveLover: "Are there facilities there to examine that blood stuff?"
[1:47pm] DrSavage: "Yes."
[1:48pm] DrSavage: "We need to stick together."
[1:49pm] Alivi: "I can…go get medicine..."
[1:49pm] ShockwaveLover: "Yeah. But we also need to know just what the hell did that to the caf. I don't want to find we're suddenly down three Poolboys."
[1:50pm] NachtRuine: "Nah, it's fine. It'll pass. Just stick around here for now, we shouldn't be moving around too much."
[1:50pm] DrSavage: "No jumping to conclusions. The last thing we need is a panic."
[1:51pm] Mr_Wilt: The halls suddenly get an increased population of ladder-wielding proboscis engineers.
[1:51pm] ShockwaveLover: "Which is why it's important we get this little mystery solved ASAP."
[1:51pm] Alivi: Eriko lies down on a couch and closes her eyes.
[1:51pm] ShockwaveLover: Duncan tries to grab one as it goes past.
[1:51pm] ShockwaveLover: Or at least get its attention.
[1:52pm] Mr_Wilt: Duncan succeeds
[1:52pm] NachtRuine: "You alright, though?"
[1:52pm] Alivi: She doesn't respond.
[1:52pm] ShockwaveLover: "You guys understand English, right?"
[1:52pm] Mr_Wilt: It nods.
[1:52pm] NachtRuine: Zach just sits there, trying to deal with the headache.
[1:53pm] ShockwaveLover: "Great. I need you to take this message to every Director you can find. Corbette first, if possible." He takes out a notebook and scribbles down a few sentences.
[1:55pm] NachtRuine: He hums a tune, rhythmically like a lullaby.
[1:55pm] ShockwaveLover: 'Radio's out. Massive blood pool of unknown origin in caf. Conducting recon/S&R operation. Personnel being directed to Medical until all clear. Schwarz.'
[1:55pm] DrSavage: Adam looks to the engineer. "You're all ordered to be careful. No unnecessary risks. Understand me?"
[1:56pm] ShockwaveLover: "That too. If something comes at you, you get the fuck out of dodge."
[1:56pm] ShockwaveLover: He folds the paper and passes it over.
[1:57pm] Mr_Wilt: The monkey stuffs the paper into a pocket on its tool belt and nods, heading over to one of the PAs.
[1:57pm] DrSavage: Adam looks to Duncan. "Time to move."
[1:57pm] minmin joined the chat room.
[1:57pm] ShockwaveLover: He starts walking again. How close are they to Medical?
[1:58pm] Mr_Wilt: It sets the ladder under it sits there, seemingly waiting for something.
[1:58pm] Alivi: Zach might hear Eriko crying softly.
[1:58pm] Mr_Wilt: Relatively close.
[1:59pm] ShockwaveLover: Alright, assuming they arrive without incident, Duncan looks around for Taggart and any available medical staff.
[1:59pm] NachtRuine: He does. Zach approaches her. He quietly and calmly says, "Eriko, you alright?"
[2:00pm] Mr_Wilt: Medical staff are there. There's a few patients with bleeding ears who are being cared for
[2:00pm] ShockwaveLover: Anyone he recognises?
[2:00pm] ShockwaveLover: "Man, where's Reggie when you need him..."

[2:01pm] Alivi: She wipes her eyes, "Y-yea…" Her voice seems a bit off.

[2:04pm] NachtRuine: He reaches out to grab her hand.

[2:06pm] NachtRuine: He takes her hand and holds it. "You'll be alright."
[2:06pm] DrSavage: Adam takes the sample putting it into a slide on the microscope.
[2:06pm] ShockwaveLover: "Keep your pants on. We'll start our sweep at the top and work down."
[2:07pm] TheRaven: "Losak Valkyr. Bit more bite in something close enough to an M14 that I won't get fucked up on it. .300 Winchester. Now, let's get moving."

[2:07pm] ShockwaveLover: "Roger that." He double times it for the stairs.
[2:08pm] Alivi: Eriko nods. "Ok..."

[2:23pm] NachtRuine: He keeps trying to comfort her.

[2:23pm] ShockwaveLover: "Can't blame her. Alright, get her down to Medical. We're co-ordinating things from there until Command gets back on line."

15:24	NachtRuine	"Big tremor. Busted the pa and the radios too." Zach looks to Eriko and picks her up. "Point me to medical, I don't take short routes."
15:25	ShockwaveLover	"Just head down the stairs then follow the signs."
15:26	NachtRuine	Zach nods and starts the journey, still fighting off a headache. "Everyone else alright for the most part?"
15:26	ShockwaveLover	"Caf's been fucked up royally, but aside from some minor injuries, it seems okay so far."
15:27	Proto_Lost	Simon looks doubly confused. "What? The fuck happened to the Caf?"
15:27	NachtRuine	"Good. Make sure it doesn't get worse."
15:27	ShockwaveLover	"If I knew that, I'd be an egghead, not a grunt. Ask Adam."
15:28	ShockwaveLover	"Simon, you want to join the sweep? Or make sure these two get down to Medical safely?"
15:28	Proto_Lost	Simon just snorts. "Nevermind...is anyone else injured?"
15:28	Proto_Lost	"Yeah, better I help out, Zach looks like he's got Eriko covered."
15:28	Proto_Lost	He fixes Zach a look. "Take care of her, will you kid?"
15:29	NachtRuine	"I'll be fine, make sure everyone else is too. I'll do the same."
15:29	ShockwaveLover	"Right. Until we get confirmation, assume everything that isn't human is hostile."
15:29	Proto_Lost	Simon brings out his revolver. "Agreed."
15:29	NachtRuine	"Pretty safe assumption."
15:30	DrSavage	Adam scratches his head, sighing.
15:30	ShockwaveLover	"And if it is human, assume it's going to turn hostile in pretty fucking short order."
15:30	NachtRuine	He makes his way to medical, taking his time going through the stairs.
15:31	Proto_Lost	"Christ, the last rumbles didn't have all this shit."
15:32	ShockwaveLover	"Something put a hole the size of a car in the cafeteria wall, and spread about three person's worth of inorganic 'blood' over it."
15:33	Proto_Lost	"...Jesus Christ."
15:34	ShockwaveLover	"Yeah. Whatever did it is still out there."
15:34	ShockwaveLover	They continue walking, and assuming nothing else happens, they head down a floor to the dorms.
15:34	Proto_Lost	"Wait...you mean we have a little baby Red Pool in here?"
15:34	ShockwaveLover	"No idea. Adam's studying a sample right now. But that looks to be the safe bet."

15:37	DrSavage	Adam gestures to one. "And you're staying here too."

15:39	NachtRuine	"Don't need to. Just a headache is all I got." He puts Eriko down on the bed. "I don't think she's got anything physical, but her ears might be damaged."

15:40	ShockwaveLover	Duncan raps on doors as he passes them, making sure that everyone's out.

15:41	NachtRuine	He sighs. "If you insist. I don't have any physical injuries either, but I've got an annoying ringing in my ear, and a headache from it."

15:43	ShockwaveLover	A short trip later, and the trio are outside the only occupied cell.
15:43	DrSavage	Adam looks to him. "If you're going to insist, I need a sample of the pool."

15:43	ShockwaveLover	"You two wait out here. I'll just be a sec."
15:44	ShockwaveLover	He opens the door, and enters.

15:44	NachtRuine	"The pool? Are they even letting people near the thing?"
15:44	Mr_Wilt	"My flowers are upended."
15:45	ShockwaveLover	"Yeah, so I see." He surveys the damage. "How about yourself?"
15:46	Mr_Wilt	"I'm fine."
15:46	ShockwaveLover	"Good, good." He looks slightly relieved. "I didn't think it'd do too much to you, but you never know."
15:47	Mr_Wilt	"You look worried, Duncan."
15:47	DrSavage	"I don't know. But I think we should compare my sample to the pool."
15:47	DrSavage	"I have a horrible feeling."
15:48	ShockwaveLover	Duncan tries to set the flowerpot back up as best he can. "The Pool's doing strange stuff. Those tremors have been getting worse, and there's a massive hole where the caf's outer wall used to be."
15:49	Mr_Wilt	"I'm sorry."

15:51	ShockwaveLover	He chuckles. "I'll see what I can do." Then sobers. "I know you can take care of yourself, Gate, but the Pool's got the Devil's own bag of tricks. If it all goes pear shaped, get the hell out of here. Don't worry about me. Just shut off."
15:52	NachtRuine	"Thanks, I'll be back as soon as I can." He takes the objects and begins to head to the sub bay.

16:00	Proto_Lost	Simon turns to look at him, he's been leaning on the wall ever since Duncan went in. "How'd that go?"

16:02	ShockwaveLover	An odd look flashes across his face for a moment, but it's quickly suppressed. "I was the first one to talk with her. Just sort of fell into the ambassador role."
16:03	ShockwaveLover	Duncanlsecures the cell door. "Now, I think that's everything. Let's get back to Med."
16:04	DrSavage	"Because it's not something from the pool attacking us."

16:05	DrSavage	"...The /Pool/ is attacking us."

16:05	NachtRuine	"How do you figure that?" He sounds a bit surprised, but pragmatic.

16:06	DrSavage	"Because that sample I got? It was where the damage was...I think the pool's sentient. Or at least alive."
16:07	NachtRuine	"Hrm. That hardly sounds good."
16:08	Proto_Lost	"Likewise...though I doubt it'll be anything good."
16:09	ShockwaveLover	"When, in the history of this Site, has a sample /ever/ brought anything good?"

16:11	Proto_Lost	Simon considers this for a moment, then nods. "Fair point."

16:15	DrSavage	"We've lost a lot of people. We're approaching winter."

16:20	NachtRuine	"Excuse me if I'm having a hard time believing you. It could be possible, just doesn't seem likely to me. Which is why I should probably believe you."
16:21	ShockwaveLover	They arrive at the med bay in short order.
16:21	NachtRuine	Zach sees them enter. "Everyone alright out there?"
16:23	Proto_Lost	"Pretty much...didn't see a soul anywhere."
16:24	ShockwaveLover	"Now that you mention it...that's a bit odd, don't you think?"
16:24	NachtRuine	"Hrm. Alright, just as long as nothing's creeping around."
16:26	DrSavage	Adam goes quiet. He's already mistrusted here, no sense in making himself look crazy too.
16:27	Proto_Lost	"So what did you find Adam? And don't give me any long and winding jargon."
16:29	DrSavage	"The sample is inorganic. It's not blood at all. I have reason to believe it's pool-matter."
16:31	NachtRuine	"I tried to get a sample from the pool, but security stopped me. Said no one goes through."
16:31	Proto_Lost	"Which means my deduction that we have a little baby pool in here correct...find out why we have a goddamn kiddie red pool in the cafeteria yet?"
16:33	DrSavage	"I think it lashed out. Sounds crazy...but nothing seems to be rampaging through. I think it's the pool itself."
16:34	NachtRuine	"I personally don't believe it, but knowing this place, not believing something is a good reason to believe it."
16:34	Proto_Lost	"So...the pool is attacking us?"
16:36	NachtRuine	"Might be. I'm gonna err on the safe side and say prepare for it."
16:36	DrSavage	"Is it so far fetched? Considering the foundation we work for?"
16:38	Proto_Lost	"No...and frankly I think this is just the buildup...the real nasty shit's to come."

16:38	NachtRuine	Zach turns to Simon, then to Eriko. "She's not handling this all too well. I calmed her down a good amount, but I think she needs you more than she does me."
16:40	DrSavage	"I think...I think this might be the big one....I hope we all make it..."
16:41	Proto_Lost	Simon looks at Zach, then nods. "I'll be here when she needs me kid, you can count on that."
