  1. >Personal dislike with artstyle as a whole (opinion)
  2. >Dislike of Link's character, there are a lot of times when this Link in particular seems weaker or unappealing as opposed to other Links in the series
  3. Examples:
  4. Even though the trope is tired and cliche, he's just a random kid that was given a tunic and suddenly supposed to be important
  5. Shows incompetence right at beginning when trying to follow a bird by running off cliff
  6. After showing growth by completing all trials throughout game, collecting Triforce pieces, restoring Master Sword; he still loses his piece to Gannondorf proving he's no hero and has to be bailed out by the king
  7. >World is extremely barren and uninteresting. Side islands are mostly just attractions that are pointless to visit in most runs that aren't for completion
  8. >Getting around in world is awful (fixed problem in HD, but still was a problem)
  9. >When going for completion runs, the sidequests required to do so are tedious and become doing the same thing over and over (find a chart > sail for way too long > get in correct spot > fish it up)
  10. >Or if you want to get really gross, have a sidequest that wants you to take a picture of everything ever and wants you to play the game twice. Want a reward for new game +? Fuck you, have no tunic mode instead
  11. >Most rewards for the sidequests end up being not worth the effort (rupees or other items that are not interesting to use)
  12. >Previous problem is somewhat fixed by needing a large amount of rupees to decipher charts, but that's a problem by itself. Chart deciphering is required gameplay that's now forcing you to go do tedious tasks to build up more money after you already did so much work to get the chart in the first place. I love the Triforce chart quests and collections, not what goes with it
  13. >So few dungeons in the game with so few of them being fun to replay (only one that I like consistently is Earth)
  14. >These dungeons also provide an assortment, oops I mean small amount, of situational items that you barely care about late game when you're busy playing with your bow upgrades. Nice creative new item there, bow upgrades, never seen that before
  15. When more than half of the dungeons in the game require you to do shitty escort management, this is why those aren't fun (Medli at least has interesting interactions in her dungeon, fuck Makar and the Tower statues)
  16. >Fuck Makar twice because he's annoying (:P)
  17. >Speaking of characters, most of them are forgettable or bad outright. You get forced on you a family that you barely interact with and now you have to go save one and the other is depressed until you go fix it, but why do that when a fairy is better than soup?
  18. >Tetra was probably the best character in the game, but oh boy she's not Tetra when she becomes Zelda. RIP Tetra
  19. >The combat is weak compared to other Zelda games. The addition of press A at the right time to cripple enemy is good on paper; in practice it's how many times in combat can I wait and press A to win?
  20. >Unimpressed with the Wind Waker "songs" when it's more fun for me as musician type to play songs myself (opinion)
  21. >Falls victim to "let's refight all the bosses at the end" trope
  22. >Replayability is shot by having to do stealth Forsaken Fortress after getting past slow intro
