Reflection on camp America
What went well
	◦	Building relationship with the campers. They seemed to like me. I think my accent helped! Enjoyed seeming them enjoy themselves, settle into camp and take part in activities
	◦	Enjoyed helping lead the activities and experiments. They went to plan and helped organise them. One that went particularly well was helping the children learn about how to make ice cream, and other non science activities like being part of a rubic cube group. I learnt from that as well!
	◦	Enjoyed working with the other leaders and being part of a team. Especially my co counsellor. Important to support each each other and let the other person know what you are doing. Taking chn to get medication, they know where I am
	◦	Learning to be independent and the importance of being organised and on time
	◦	Learning to be a good example and someone to look up to
	◦	Enjoyed working with the younger age group and learnt about their interests, what works well for them and what they find challenging. Like mems, you tubers rather than fort knight
	◦	Made new friends and have kept in touch with some of them
	◦	Enjoyed learning more about living in a new area
	◦	Things you would do different / found challenging
	◦	At first, found comforting upset children a challenge as didn’t always know what to say to comfort them. Would get Rachel G and she would help. Learnt from this and definitely something you would be more confident with next year
	◦	There was one child who refused to get up in the morning - again Rachel helped with bribing him. Next time could think about putting some incentives in place - like a star chart or a reward for good listening
	◦	Also learnt that giving rewards at the end of activities could upset children that didn’t win. Better at explaining to children that there will be better activities
	◦	Practice how to solve rubic cube!
	◦	Really like to consolidate everything I learnt and to get more experience under my belt
	◦	Loved being in the sunny climate
