Uri - First Patient Done Solo

Thalis, his first patient done solo.

With his grandmother not present, Uri took it upon himself to give aid to Thalis, someone who recently fought a Crellus and came back home to Osrona with an injury that was sure to heal over time. But still had venom, thus the risk of infection for all that was done to treat it was as Thalis said, “I tossed some mud on er, wrapped it up and called it a day.” Uri would conduct the procedure, making sure he cleaned his hands and then the wound before he could move on. And the end result? One big learning experience from days of stress from helping Elora deal with many patients.

[10:46] Uri had probably forgotten where it was...If anything, the church was also a possibly spot for Elora's work.

[10:47] Thalis Avitus says, "I'll splash some water on it, rub dirt in it-- I'll be fine."
[10:47] Uri Sanctum says, "Alright but I will take him to the church if the clinic isn't open."

[10:47] Thalis Avitus says, "Aye, I'll prolly be in Sudbury if nobody's 'round."
[10:48] Uri Sanctum says, "Grandmother has been busy."
[10:48] Uri Sanctum says, "Could be resting."
[10:48] Uri Sanctum says, "She tends to be out in the open looking for patients."

[10:49] Uri leads them to the church.

[10:50] Uri Sanctum says, "Hm, she nor Inante are here..."
[10:50] Uri Sanctum says, "If anything, I can proscribe to you only this..."
[10:50] Uri Sanctum says, "Let me see your wound."
[10:50] Thalis Avitus says, "... Stars, fuckin' ne'er fit in 'ere."
[10:50] Thalis Avitus says, "'n-- Aye."
[10:51] "Really, I jus' fell over ont' a sharp bit o' o'. It's nothin' a bit o' water 'n dirt can't fix."

Thalis was, truly, a graduated medical student. Lifting up his sweatshirt he'd pull the dirty rags he called bandages aside-- Revealing a gnarly cut across his stomach!.. Why was it dripping venom?

Why was this idiot allowed to run around unattended?

"See? Not tha' bad." He lied with a slight upwards curl to his lips.

[10:52] Uri Sanctum says, "It's nothing I can't handle, you won't need to see my grandmother."
[10:56] Uri would first go over to the restroom or a sink he could find. The young lad had to make sure his hands were clean and sanitized after all. After looking at the venom leaking from the teens torso, Uri had this to say. "You... Should've drained it first... Uhm, lie down, so that I may get a better view, and take off those dirty bandages for me."

He would take out his own first aid kit, simple tools assembled for him by Elora to use on first responder situations. Little things that could be done in order to prevent a big infection or worse... Another Vorona outbreak.

He cheekily looks at Esbern, "Now you get to see an apprentice medic in action."

He waits for Thalis to remove his clothing and lie down on the red rugs of the church.

[10:57] Esbern watches Thalis undress his wound, and looks at the seeping wound. No doubt reminiscent of his own from the past. A little sympathy passes through him, and he decides to offer him a discount;

"Hey, buddy, that looks pretty painful. I could sell you some lax essence for 50 coins, if you'd like. It's a type of numbing cream."

[10:59] Thalis stared at him like a deer in headlights. Drain? Hazel hues dart about for a moment, trying to figure out how he was to apply that to himself. Was he to drain his body of the tainted blood maybe?.. The poor slumboy truly was a lost cause most of the time.

Yet with a huff he'd begin taking off his jacket and sweater. They're set aside along with the raggedy bandages; The Avitus soon laying down upon the rug in the middle of the church-- Wincing heavily as he did so.

At Esbern's offer he'd raise a brow. "Nah, this ain't nothin'... I'll be fuckin' fine. M' pa didn't raise a lil' bitch." Weakly chuckling he'd flop his head back to the rug - Gaze now setting itself on Uri.

"Right, whene'er y' ready."

[11:02] Esbern bows his head respectfully to Inante as Inante passes him, still remembering the impressive display which inspired him to turn around his life, and change his ways.

[11:03] With clean hands and his tools aside from him. Uri would take out a sanitized wipe, going along the skin near the gash, wiping away the puss and ooze from the potential area for infection. He would take a cotton swab in order to remove any crust that may have hardened from the dry air over the course of an hour or more.

Once he had cleaned the surface area. Uri would then apply a gentle touch, some light pressure onto the wound, "This might hurt a bit...Kraus guide me," the young Sanctum applied the pressure... Maybe this is where that Lax Essence would come in handy.

Now before he could even move onto the next step. He would maintain this pressure, allowing the cut to drain any infectious fluid onto a towel, for he could not find the clinic room...Or well he did but it was empty and this seemed urgent.

[11:04] Inante would smile towards those gathered in the church it was always so nice to see so many people within the church. A smile is given towards everyone as he takes his place at the top of the stairs.

[11:08] Honestly he wasn't sure just what to expect from getting a wound treated. Most of the time the slum boy just rubbed some dirt in it and called it a day. It's more than likely why he was caked in it most days! Pressing his lips into a tight line to stifle any pained sounds he may make during the cleaning of the wound he'd let his eyes wander.

… When was the last time he even went to church? Six years ago? Thalis couldn't quite remember when his mother had brought him here--

As Uri puts pressure on the wound he'd let out a pained yelp, a hand snapping to his mouth as he bit down on it. Well there went the tough guy act! Puss and leftover venom flowed from the cut and onto the towel as the Sanctum may expect.

Dear Stars, the Avitus would be pissed if he wasn't getting healed right now.

[11:09] Esbern watches the procedure, grimacing a bit, but paying close attention to Uri's work. It was notably grimier than his own procedure - for one, his had been on his back, so he couldn't watch. It also helped that he'd been lucky enough to get help before the infection properly set in.

Desperate to grunt or groan while seeing what was a disgusting sight to most people, he forces himself to stay quiet as to not break Uri's concentration.

[11:18] Slowly over time, but most certainly... The vemon would find its way out, as Uri maintains the medical discipline of the first few steps needed to treat a wound. He would even refer to his notes aloud to better calm down the patient and those around him. Now, this first aid would prevent the injury from becoming worse due to neglect and mistreatment. But, young Uri had to do something, before Elora could wake up, for he was the only medic around for young Thalis right now.

When treating a magi patient. Grandma Elora mentioned that we should always clean the wound first, and then once it is clear, apply pressure. Magic can be used to better heal and men little wounds but things such as this required time, patience and precision. So to just go and use magic could very well be a fluke to the practice. Be sure to use herbal remedies if any are available, then, you can let the fluid drain out if there is any left. Typically, such a task should take 30 minutes or less with the resources we have here in Osrona. And by the looks of it, we're almost done here."

He went onto the next step, and that would be to seal the wound. So he got a gauze from his kit, as well as some ointment and a plaster to use as the flattened surface that would prevent any bleeding. So, from here, Uri would have Thalis sit up if he could... "I need you to sit up a bit, and Esbern, I might need that Lax Essense for him," he would offer 40 coin for this purchase... "Stars be with us, it's like hospital room with the drugs we have to help this."

After applying the ointment, young Uri would begin to place the wrapping around Thalis, covering the wound but also, maybe having Esbern give him the Lax Essence so that it wouldn't be so painful throughout the day, at least until Elora got back and could give him the proper treatment to remedy this temporary injury. Now, Uri did not possess any healing magic,at least not yet, he was hoping to find some form of healing through the cosmos. Hopefully, through this display of compassion, will he be worthy to the stars, if not today, then eventually.

[11:21] {ITEM} Traded 40 coins to Esbern Antioch
[11:23] Upon hearing that the lax essence would be needed, Esbern gets up, deciding that it would be best not to dally, and says;

"I'll need to fetch it from my stores. They're close, I shan't be long. Stay strong" - the last part of the sentence was directed towards Thalis. He then floats a reasonable pace to the door, not wanting to disturb the church, but bursting into what would be a run, if he were not floating, once he exists.

[11:23] It's a blessing in itself the urchin hadn't just outright struck the Sanctum the moment he pressed down upon his wound. With a tightly knit brow he'd keep that glare under closed eyes. Even as they prattled on about... Well, whatever this treatment came with he couldn't be fucked to remember it himself.

Good Stars, he could barely even count!

At the request to sit up he'd eventually pull his hand from his mouth. The worst part was over, and now came the dressing for the wound... Right? Steadying himself with his hands he'd flick his gaze between the two.

"Thank y' fer this. Ain't... Exactly sure 'ow all this actually works." The Avitus scoffed even as the ointment was applied. With the dressing about his cut he'd narrow his gaze for a moment-- He'd have to take it real slow today it seemed. Now how was he to get coin?..

With a sigh he'd let the work continue, prattling on. "'n y' said th' 'ospital was where again? Jus' fer future reference."

[11:25] {ITEM} Traded item with Esbern Antioch: Lax Essence
[11:25] Osiris looks around the place, but it seems as though the one they came looking for was not actually here... Or, were they? Osiris wandered through the halls. If fruitless, they'd just leave as swiftly as they came here.

[11:26] Having returned swiftly with the lax essence, Esbern quickly floats forward, and then hands the tub of lax essence, which he'd pre-prepared, to Uri as agreed.

His words stuck in his mouth, as he could understand the exact kind of pain Thalis was going through.

[11:30] Esbern Antioch says, "sad, but thanks"
[11:30] Uri was patient, waiting for Esbern to head back with the Lax Essense and surely enough. There he was, as promised! It was a reliable source to have, those of the alchemic studies... He tried his best to remain silent within the church, but sometimes, you can't help when others are in pain and they are in need of comforting words.

Right now, the process was just about done. All that was needed was this simple medicine. "Here, take this," said Uri as he would apply the lax essence onto the wound, halving the effects by 50% as the remedy mentions within its description. After all, it was only a quick fix solution for the time being, until Elora would wake up and finish the entire treatment.

"Feels better don't it? Now I should clean up here." The little phoenix gave him a smile, and if Thalis was already on his feet, the young Sanctum would begin picking up old and used tools, throwing away the rags that has touched the infected skin ofThalis. "Easy does it," says the Medical Apprentice... "Though I wouldn't worry about a medical bill haha," he joked to lighten the mood.

[11:36] It was a few more moments of waiting, so he'd be fine. Even just sitting there was a bit... Odd, though, given he wasn't a devout follower of the Stars himself. His grandfather told tales far more interesting to the Ookami- From the hunts of Asena to the devil known as Saekanis.

There were things to steal-- Reclaim, within those lost tombs he'd heard of. Now if only he could read!

With the lax essence applied he'd let out a brief huff of amusement. Honestly it did take the pain down a notable amount of notches! Flashing a brief, wide grin towards the Sanctum he'd chuckle. "Aye, it fuckin' does. It's surprisin'!

'n... Thank th' Gods. Really didn't want t' give up more coin t'day." The Ookami let out a huff of relief, jumping to his feet as he began collecting his shirt and jacket. Tossing them on he'd lightly poke the newly tended wound. "... O', if y' both still goin' out ah... Try t' steer clear o' th' bridge north west o' 'ere. Think there's shit goin' down still."

[11:38] Esbern nods lightly, and responds;

"Thanks for the advice, though I don't think we'll be heading far in that direction. I'm Esbern, by the way - local artificer and alchemist. If you've ever got spare coin, and need gear or potions, come see me!"

Esbern flashes him a salesman's smile reflexively.

[11:38] Thalis Avitus says, "Aye, figure I o' y' both. I'm Thalis-- Thalis Avitus."
[11:44] He smiles... Though he forgot to answer the earlier question Thalis asked of him. "The official hospital? This place is so massive that even I get lost trying to go home... But typically, the church is a place where people come to get healed, much easier to find than anywhere else." A pensive stare to the ground as he knew he totally forgot where the actual clinic was suppose to be.

However, this wouldn't matter for it was empty, though in the future...Uri will need to know exactly where to run to in times like this. "When my grandmother wake sup, she will take you to the actual clinic----Did you say somethings going on by the bridge?..."

This made him cautious, "Well, we're going to find some ore and ingredients...Hopefully, nothing comes our way. Times have been getting crazier by the day." He would collect the last of his supplies...Another days work for the medical apprentice and a lax essence from the fine Alchemist...They made a good duet when dealing with patients...Perhaps this combination will lead to a new family business in the future.

"You know who I am already... Uri Sanctum, Faira's brother."

[11:48] Tapping his chin he'd begin nodding his head slowly. So if he was injured he'd be going to church... Grand. His mother would probably be smiling right now, but his grandfather? They'd be reeling in their retirement home. Drawing in a slow breath he'd let out an eventual sigh.

"Aye, aye... Was tol' she's usually on a bench. I'll scope 'er out later so she can show m'. Knowin' m' luck this ain't goin' t' be th' first time y' all treat me. Heh!" Thalis chuckled with a wide grin.

Yet at the notion of the bridge he'd give a nod-nod. "Aye, jus' steer clear o' tha'. Beyond tha' though... Been keeping y' from y' 'unts. Get movin' 'n I'll catch y' 'round, aye?"

Giving a brief little wave he'd begin turning on his heels. "Figure I'll go bug y' sister after a nap o' th' benches. Take care." The Avitus added, beginning to waddle on out unless stopped.

[11:49] Esbern's mouth makes an "o" shape as surprise hits him harder than it has in a long time. Faira? Uri SANCTUM? This newly found friend of his that overpaid for armour was the brother of his prestigious client, Ms. Sanctum!?

That explained why they were on such good terms earlier, he'd assumed Uri was just a friend of hers.

"M-ms. Sanctum's brother?", Esbern splutters, his commoner past overtaking him for a moment. Well, what does it matter anyway? He thinks to himself, we're already friends... it'd probably offend him if I started calling him Mr. Sanctum, right?

"I didn't realise your background was so impressive, Mr. Uri."

[11:56] He chuckles lightly, "Impressive? I wouldn't say so." he said jokingly, if anything, he would have to mirror those same words back to Esbern. "After all, the treatment wouldn't be a success without your help. Your merdicine was the end game of the treatment, now he is all stringy again for the next...Twenty four hours right?"

He nods his head. Uri pondered on the possible time Elora would wake up for. "Yeah, twenty four hours should be more than enough." He always thought both logically and spiritually. Perhaps this is why his preferred method of healing was through one that did not exist yet, to be someone capable of using the stars to better heal his patients..

"Stars were with us for the moment, but now. I think its time we head on out to the erm… Mines right? Yeah, for more ingredients, and who knows... Maybe we will open up an actual shop one day haha, a Clinic to profit from since... I have no other income, aside from that of the Order." He shrugs playfully, for his mind was one that was absorbing more and more information by the day.
