Summer 2020 Speedrun Wrap-up

I thought it would be useful to lay out my remaining speed-plans for the summer. For probably three years now I have been talking about "retiring", and while I am gradually phasing out of playing as much as I used to, I will definitely stay involved in the community aspect, especially HMSR. I have maybe a little over 2 months to reach a few more goals before I will be going on another hiatus, so here they are:

1. Pokemon Sapphire. I have slowly came to terms with the fact that my PB is my PB, the game was there when I needed her, and I'm satisfied with my contributions over the years, but that I don't really want to play it anymore. This summer has been a bit of a throwback, running with Abra, chatting with Spitfire, and I've really enjoyed it. I will be running the Abraful route in the PSR marathon the first weekend of August, so I will do runs to prepare, but I don't have another extended grind in me. If I PB, great. If not, GGs.

2. Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland. This has become my main speed-baby since late 2017, and I am so grateful for it. There are a few runs I still need to complete on the Japanese version, as I won't be bringing my console with me when I leave for school in the fall. These are:

- NG+ Azure Swallowtail
- NG+ Bluebird
- NG+ Cake Contest
- NG+ Endangered Weasel
- NG+ Treasure Hunt I
- NG+ Treasure Hunt II
- All Endings
- All Endings NG+

I'm not sure that I will end up doing All Endings NG+, just because routing and file prep alone would take a while, but I'm confident that I can manage to do a run of it at some point in the future. But I want to make sure to complete the others so that there is something for future runners to work with (plz play this game I love it).

3. Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town Elli Marriage. I learned this for the Mineral Town Marathon, but I was unfortunately unable to participate due to some sudden IRL obligations. I still enjoyed learning it though, and although the route without horse race manip is kind of trash, it still wouldn't be that hard to eke out a WR in this category, so I might give it a shot just for fun.

As for plans further into the future, it's hard to say. There is a lot of documentation still to be done in StH, and I want to continue doing that, so when I do stream, it may be emu research streams. However, my English PS2 is a slim, so it's very easy to travel with, so I've decided to bring it with me when I leave so I can hopefully participate in HMV5 this coming February, where I would love to run StH All Endings.
