  1. {aycs; prompt 4 - awkward kiss}
  2.
  3. There’s always a secret between Aya and Chisato as they descended from the stage, sometimes breathless and tired after the whole energy by the performance. They would wait until everyone, and especially Hina, to not linger by the backstage area. They would stall time – Aya would find something interesting to talk with the staff on the back or Chisato would take off her bass longer than usual.
  4.
  5. That being said, it has been awhile since they have shared this specific ‘ritual’. To name it as ‘ritual’ though, it is quite an overstatement—yet with the frequency, it might be close as one.
  6.
  7. “Chisato-chan?”
  8.
  9. Chisato was done with packing her bass back to its sheathe. One of her ongoing drama script already replaced a bottle of water that she was getting from Eve. Aya was taking her time with the staff earlier but not for stalling, it was something about the stage mishaps and the equipment. Seeing from the corner of her eyes that Chisato was lounging at the backstage, Aya couldn’t help but to swell in anticipation.
  10.
  11. The bassist turned her without words, merely a ghost of hum, her eyes partly fixated on the script with her mouth voicelessly recited the lines. It was enough to take Aya aback: as usual, she is the one to expect things too much.
  12.
  13. “Um, never mind.”
  14.
  15. “Aya-chan, we already had this conversation before.”
  16.
  17. There was something, a little glint that Aya didn’t think she is seeing – a tease, or maybe a hint of smile that the blonde trying to suppress upon seeing her being so miserable. Wait, did it show on her face or something? Though Chisato always said whether she is easy to guess.
  18.
  19. “But we haven’t … kissed … for so long, right?”
  20.
  21. A silence, and Aya was sure her face was red from embarrassment. Chisato wasn’t exactly on the cool spectrum either, even as she tried to hide behind the open script book.
  22.
  23. “We can always, ah, start from small?”
  24.
  25. Aya held her cheeks, trying to prevent smile creeping too wide on her face, “Y-Yes, we can.”
  26.
  27. “Then, let’s … let’s kiss.”
  28.
  29. It took them really long to simply reach out to each other. Falling out of rhythm after so long because of packed schedules and little time to be alone together finally reached up to them. They were uncertain, even though their hands called for desperation, hanging almost too close to comfort from they usually were when they are out in public. The chaste press didn’t last for so long, and Aya was sure she nearly missed Chisato’s small lips.
  30.
  31. “Mou, Aya-chan.”
  32.
  33. “S-Sorry, it has been—“
  34.
  35. “Sshh. We already had that conversation.”
  36.
  37. They stayed longer at the back stage today, longer that they ever been despite their bustling and clashing schedules after, simply rekindling to the flame they ignited.
