  1.
  2.
  3. So all toys are actually alive, but they - ALL of them for the
  4. WHOLE history of toys on the whole planet? - hide that fact
  5. from their slavemas... I mean, 'owners'.
  6.
  7. Now, there are SO many questions that should be answered,
  8. but this movie doesn't bother answering.
  9.
  10. 01) WHY do they all follow this rule? Are there no
  11. rebels?
  12.
  13. 02) What is the REASON for the rule? Why would it be beneficial for the
  14. 'owners' to think something living is actually non-living? Wouldn't that
  15. just create unnecessary danger?
  16.
  17. 03) Who created this rule and why?
  18.
  19. 04) If all toys are alive, are there inanimate objects that are not alive?
  20.
  21. What creates 'life' for the toys, and why doesn't it create life for
  22. anything else?
  23.
  24. 05) Is it possible to manufacture things that are not alive, or is everything
  25. that is manufactured alive somehow? Are all plastic bags alive? Computers?
  26. Hairdryers? Why only toys?
  27.
  28. 06) How does this happen, exactly? How can any soul, let alone an individual,
  29. seemingly human soul, incarnate into a bunch of manufactured plastic without
  30. chakras or meridians, and why would they, when they clearly ALSO incrnate
  31. into proper human bodies, that governments recognize have ACTUAL RIGHTS?
  32.
  33. 07) Buzz doesn't think he's a toy, but voluntarily follows this arbitrary
  34. rule anyway? What are the consequences for breaking the rules, and why
  35. is everyone so scared of breaking them, that they follow them even when
  36. they don't think they are a toy?
  37.
  38. If there can be one toy that doesn't think they're a toy, then there
  39. should be millions of them, historically speaking. NOT ONE OF THEM
  40. broke the rule?
  41.
  42. 08) Why and how can the toys mold the hard plastic they are made
  43. out of, just to create facial expressions and such? Wouldn't the
  44. toymakers KNOW exactly what kind of plastic they are using, and
  45. wouldn't it be way too hard and inflexible to allow that constant malleability?
  46.
  47. Even if it was softer plastic, would it really snap back like a
  48. living skin or an actual human face, when a toy smiles or whatnot,
  49. and then closes their mouth? Why wouldn't it just BREAK or CRACK?
  50.
  51. I mean, in my opinion, it can't even BE plastic, all the toys
  52. must have been made mainly out of some kind of RUBBER for any
  53. of this to be possible.
  54.
  55. Think about the toy soldiers; mom steps on one, it makes a
  56. CRUNCHING sound, and then listen to the sound when she kicks
  57. them away. Definitely hard plastic. Then they start moving
  58. and speaking, and they move as if they're even more malleable
  59. than rubber. What kind of plastic is it?
  60.
  61. 09) The human can move the physical body's limbs and such,
  62. because there are MUSCLES that expand and contract based on
  63. electrical signals sent to them by the soul, through the brain
  64. and such. Anything that moves in the physical world, must have
  65. some kind of power like this to make it move, even windmills
  66. have wind that pushes the blades.
  67.
  68. WHAT makes the toys' arms, legs and other bits move? They don't
  69. have physical brains, which isn't 100% necessary to be able to
  70. think on the physical level, but without any kind of brain system,
  71. it would be pretty darn challenging. What enables these toys to
  72. think and move, if they don't have muscles or brains?
  73.
  74. 09b) What about talking? How can they produce voice without vocal
  75. cords?
  76.
  77. People of this planet already know so much about how the
  78. human bodily system moves, how voice is produced and all that,
  79. and this movie throws ALL of that away and just .. magically
  80. makes these abilities possible?
  81.
  82. Where does this magic come from and who created and orchestrates it?
  83.
  84. 10) Talking about voice, the whole voice amplification thing
  85. makes no sense. Why would Woody need his voice to be amplified,
  86. when everyone else can hear everyone else's voice just fine
  87. without it.
  88.
  89. Also, if they really need his voice to be amplified, then it
  90. means his voice levels are raised considerably, which means Andy
  91. and his mother would definitely be able to hear them.
  92.
  93. What kind of sense does it make that they try to hide and sneak
  94. around as much as possible so they can't ever be seen move by
  95. a human being..
  96.
  97. (and the methods they do it with are SO sloppy, historically
  98. speaking, it's NOT plausible, believable or credible in ANY
  99. way, shape or form that ALL THE TOYS OF THE WORLD ON ALL
  100. COUNTRIES IN ALL THE YEARS they toys have been a thing,
  101. have ALWAYS been 100% successful in avoiding being seen,
  102. even accidentally - furthermore, they need someone to SCREAM
  103. at them for them to even know to go 'back to their places'
  104.
  105. - what if some toys have bad memory and simply can't remember
  106. in a panicky situation where their place was? THIS HAS NEVER
  107. HAPPENED ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD OF BILLIONS OF PEOPLE AND HUNDREDS
  108. OF YEARS?!
  109.
  110. They have so many close calls in this movie, they end up in
  111. situations that are not under their control, where someone
  112. would EASILY have seen a toy move, OR the very least not
  113. be where they should have been. The kids run into the room
  114. so fast and there's maybe 'few seconds' for everyone to get
  115. in their 'place'.
  116.
  117. Are you telling me they somehow magically can get back to a
  118. specific point and pose in a few seconds every single time,
  119. during all human history, all toys in all the countries in
  120. the world?!
  121.
  122. For this kind of ability and panic, for this kind of strict
  123. adherence to the rule, for this kind of work, toil and effort,
  124. there should be a VERY good explanation as to WHY would any
  125. toy bother following the rule instead of talking to the humans
  126. and explaining they are alive!
  127.
  128. But it's not even talked about, no toy wonders about it, no on
  129. e says 'look, if I am going to run around like a fool, I would
  130. like to know a VERY good reason for it!' IN ALL TOY HISTORY,
  131. not even one toy has reacted like this or rebelled?
  132.
  133. NOT EVEN ONE?!
  134.
  135. DO they have individualities and personalities? IF so, it's
  136. impossible that in all these years, not even one toy wanted
  137. to rebel against or at least KNOW about this rule, and why
  138. they must follow it, when it's in NO WAY beneficial to the
  139. toys, and it only makes humans treat them like soulless objects!
  140.
  141. WHY WOULD ANYONE VOLUNTARILY CHOOSE TO BE TREATED LIKE SOULLESS
  142. OBJECTS?! ISN'T THAT WHY SLAVERY IS WRONG AND WAS ABOLISHED?!)
  143.
  144. .. but at the same time, they move COMPLETELY FREELY (not trying
  145. to remember the exact place and position they were in before
  146. they started moving, and always making sure they can easily
  147. and quickly return to that spot and position), they make as
  148. much noise as possible, and they AMPLIFY THEIR VOICES!?
  149.
  150. Talking more about voices, why would the soldiers have a
  151. typical 'husky whiskey voice', when they're TOYS made out
  152. of plastic, and not only that, they're VERY, very small
  153. compared to an actual 'soldier'.
  154.
  155. How and why can they have EXACTLY a 'human soldier voice'
  156. that has been drinking a lot of whiskey? Shouldn't the
  157. voice be really plasticky, tinny, tiny, whiny, high-pitched
  158. and maybe even metallic? WHY can it be exactly as human voice,
  159. when human voice is produced by COMPLETELY different methods?
  160.
  161. Even if we accept that the voices just SOMEHOW can be produced,
  162. be it magic or otherwise, what are the chances that two
  163. COMPLETELY different methods of producing voice will result
  164. in 100% identical voices?
  165.
  166. Also, the toy soldiers' assumed brains (which probably don't
  167. exist) would be the size of an ant's head or something. HOW
  168. the heck can they think and talk as if they're human beings
  169. with brains like that?
  170.
  171. WHAT the .. how? Why?
  172.
  173. Also, if you look how INCREDIBLY close everyone is not only
  174. to each other but Woody, when he's trying to calm them down
  175. about the birthday, and then compare to HOW FAR AWAY he is
  176. when everyone is at the window sill - WHY would he need the
  177. voice amplification in the first scenario, but not in the
  178. latter one?
  179.
  180. Why does he need it at all? Everyone seems to hear each other
  181. just fine through all kinds of distances, what the heck is
  182. this voice amp thing anyway?!
  183.
  184. 11) Assigning evil to a kid and telling he tortures toys makes
  185. no sense. Again, this is the toys' own fault for FORCING
  186. people to think they have no soul or any kind of life!
  187.
  188. Also, are you telling me toys will follow the rule even
  189. when they're tortured or murdered? Wouldn't breaking the
  190. rule be a LESSER evil than exploding to pieces?!
  191.
  192. (Also, Woody would clearly let a massive truck drive over
  193. him than break the rule in a way that humans would probably
  194. never find out about? WHAT? Just sneak away from under the
  195. truck before you are crushed, no one will see that, sheesh!
  196.
  197. But nope, the rule is like the prime directive in Star Trek
  198. - you can NEVER, ever violate it, except when you suddenly
  199. decide to do just that. So now it's a rule you can just BREAK,
  200. so WHY IS EVERYONE HELL-BENT ON LETTING THEMSELVES BE
  201. MURDERED RATHER THAN BREAKING IT?)
  202.
  203. I mean, SID doesn't know toys are alive, so he's not doing
  204. anything wrong or evil, just being creative with his playtime.
  205. He's simply playing a role of a villain - with the same
  206. logic, James Earl(e?) Jones is evil, because he played
  207. Darth Vader.
  208.
  209. If Sid KNEW the toys are alive, he probably wouldn't torture
  210. them, so these toys are being really idiotic and evil
  211. themselves. First they pretend they are NOT alive, then
  212. they accuse someone for torturing toys! I mean, the
  213. contradiction here is staggeringly idiotic, it's like
  214. feminist logic!
  215.
  216. Gender is just a social construction, but men should always
  217. pay for everything, including dinners, dates, etc.
  218.
  219. Toys are not alive (as far as any human knows), but someone
  220. can still be accused of torturing them.
  221.
  222.
  223. 12) Why is it all right to break the rule to traumatize Sid
  224. for no reason, but not OK to break it in other, just as bad
  225. or worse, or just one toy's life-or-death situation, or a
  226. torture situation of 10 toys? (Surely Sid must've tortured
  227. more in his lifetime than ten anyway)
  228.
  229. Who makes the rules about how and when the rule CAN and CANNOT
  230. be broken, and why is this ONE situation _THE_ONLY_ONE_ that
  231. the rule can be broken in, but throughout human and toy history,
  232. no other situation has been bad enough? What? Seriously?
  233.
  234. WHO DECIDES THESE THINGS? Can anyone just decide to break the
  235. rule at any time they wish?
  236.
  237. What happens if - and don't tell me this could never happen,
  238. from what this movie shows us, it definitely should, and has
  239. already happened - some toy is SO far from the original place,
  240. they can't make it in time? Do they 'freeze' in the wrong place,
  241. or just give up and talk to the humans and admit defeat? What
  242. happens and why?
  243.
  244. Also, WHY DOES THE RULE EVEN EXIST, and who decided it, and WHY
  245. DOES EVERYONE ADHERE TO IT so much that it becomes more important
  246. to them than not being tortured or crushed by a truck?!
  247.
  248. And why, at the same time, AT THE SAME TIME!!, is the rule flimsy
  249. and unimportant enough that they can just break it at will to
  250. traumatize a child that didn't know they were doing anything
  251. wrong? It's like you don't tell me you are alive, but you think
  252. I am evil for torturing you? How the hell am I supposed to 'not
  253. be evil' if you don't tell me you are alive so I can even make
  254. that decision?
  255.
  256. Am I evil for getting a videotape stuck in a VCR? Does the VCR
  257. get hurt? Yeah, I know no one knows what these things are anymore,
  258. but the point stands. If I format a hard drive, am I being evil?
  259.
  260. None of this makes any damn sense.
  261.
  262. 13) To get back to the voice projection point - the toys have
  263. a GOOD hearing, they can perfectly well hear hear the mom talk
  264. when she's amazingly far away from them, they can hear woody
  265. yell from all the way from Sid's house.. so WHY would they
  266. need a voice amplification system when they're about 15 cm
  267. away from Woody?
  268.
  269. Also, look how far away Woody is when he, not in a very loud
  270. voice, calls for Hanna, while mimicking her mom's voice. I
  271. mean, mimicking, being very far away, and he can still project
  272. his voice, even if it doesn't sound very loud. WHY would he ever
  273. need a voice amp for 15 cm distance?!
  274.
  275. WHY!?
  276.
  277. 14) So every toy in the world - for _SOME_ reason?! - agrees that
  278. they will always pretend they are not alive
  279.
  280. (this still doesn't nake any sense to me, as I don't see a benefit
  281. - wouldn't even the kids be more happy to know their toys are alive?
  282.
  283. As many moral and ethical questions as this would give birth to..)..
  284.
  285. However, they have NO qualms about 'fixing' toys. Sid 'unfixes'
  286. toys, the toys themselves fix themselves back. _THIS_ should be
  287. enough to not only break the rule, but traumatize Sid for life!
  288.
  289. He worked hard to swap the heads of dolls, the next day it's like
  290. he never did it. Talk about experience worse than Mandela Effect!
  291.
  292. Why does _THIS_ kind of meddling not break the rule? Isn't it giving
  293. EVIDENCE that the toys are alive, and thus just as bad a crime?
  294.
  295. Or is it OK to do _WHATEVER_, as long as a human being doesn't
  296. DIRECTLY see you being alivE? So you can redecorate someone's room
  297. without their consent, steal their car and go for a joyride, empty
  298. their fridge, kill their dog.. but as long as no one sees you actually
  299. move, you haven't broken the rule?
  300.
  301. See how the 'rule' crap makes NO sense at all, when you think about
  302. it at all?
  303.
  304. 15) Why does Sid not know about umbrellas? Adverse weather conditions?
  305.
  306. What child ever treats rain as 'weather that prohibits them from going
  307. out'? A kid wouldn't care about rain or thunder, they would REVEL in it,
  308. run around in it and just have fun with the puddles and whatnot.
  309.
  310. At worst, he could just bring an umbrella so he can light the match,
  311. then step back and watch the rocket launch and explode.
  312.
  313. I don't really see why he couldn't do this, or wouldn't do it.
  314.
  315. If he's fast, the ground isn't even going to be too wet, because the
  316. rain was just starting. Also, the thunder would give the 'proper setting'
  317. for something like that.
  318.
  319. Heck, a creative kid like Sid would even be able to fabricate a mini-umbrella
  320. for the 'rocket', just for fun!
  321.
  322. 16) How do the toys see? Same problems as the vocal cords and muscle
  323. - not all toys have ANY kind of eyes, but even those that do, have
  324. plastic eyes with paint on them instead of actual retinas or whatnot.
  325.
  326. How do they see, exactly? Are some of the toys blind? Why can't some
  327. toys talk, and some can, even though a mouth .. I mean, there are SO
  328. many problems and questions this movie doesn't answer.
  329.
  330. Think about the 'hand-in-the-box' toy. Is the box part of its 'body',
  331. does it hurt if it's pinched or punched? Does it see at all?
  332.
  333. Can it even hear? Can it talk? How does it all work?!
  334.
  335. 17) Didn't they break the rule ALL OVER THE PLACE anyway, so why even
  336. care about it? I mean, _ANY_ time Woody is seen by a human, when Woody
  337. isn't where he's supposed to be, is breaking the rule. The toys are ONLY
  338. supposed to be seen by humans when the toys are at the EXACT places where
  339. HUMANS LEFT THEM.
  340.
  341. They are NOT supposed to be seen in someone's backyard where no human
  342. put them in, right? So why is it OK for Woody to just be found by Sid in
  343. his yard BEFORE they supposedly break the rule? This applies, of course,
  344. to Sid finding them in the 'alien toy game' machine and so many other places
  345. as well. Technically, even Andy finding them in the box in the car
  346. _IS_ breaking the rule!
  347.
  348. 18) The way those 'voices' work in those old toys, is that some actual human
  349. being with a particular voice, with his vocal cords and all, SPOKE those
  350. lines, they were taped or recorded, then they could be replayed by some kind
  351. of audio system of the time when the string is pulled (not sure how, but
  352. perhaps, possibly, some kind of magnetic film or such was involved).
  353.
  354. How and why is Woody able to EDIT and ADD to those voices? I mean, even
  355. when he speaks, he doesn't (or at least shouldn't) have the exact same
  356. voice as a human that recorded/taped those voices for the toy corporation,
  357. so how can he 'speak' with the same, exact voice?
  358.
  359. Furthermore, why does he have 'two voices' now? I mean, he can speak with
  360. his own voice (for some reason) and then he can ALSO speak with the
  361. 'there's a snake in my boots'-voice. If he can do THAT, then why would he
  362. EVER have only the few, set voices, when he could delight kids with
  363. ENDLESS supply of all kinds of sentences with all kinds of intonations!
  364.
  365. Is he cruel or what?
  366.
  367. Again, the rule makes NO SENSE, when it is of NO BENEFIT TO ANYONE.
  368.
  369. Also, it's not explained how he can ALTER PRE-RECORDED SENTENCES AND USE
  370. THE SAME, EXACT VOICE.
  371.
  372. 19) The toys are seen by a dog. Why does this not count?
  373.
  374. The toys are seen by the dog when the toys are running in the middle of a
  375. suburban stroad. HOW does the rule work, exactly? Is it:
  376.
  377. 1) A human being can't see the toys move, EVER
  378.
  379. 2) The toys can't see a human being see them
  380.
  381. 3) It doesn't matter if someone ACTUALLY sees them, as long as the
  382. toys THINK they weren't seen
  383.
  384. 4) A being that can't speak and has no credibility CAN see them
  385. (the toddler in the car saw them move)
  386.
  387. or
  388.
  389. 4) Anyone can see them, and the rule isn't very important?
  390.
  391. I mean, they can take a HUGE risk that someone might see them,
  392. why is this allowed, when it can VERY easily end up with breaking the rule?
  393.
  394. Of course they already broke the rule, and there were no consequences,
  395. except good ones (from their perspective, but in fact, they did
  396. psychologically torture a being they KNEW was alive, so how are
  397. the toys not WORSE and MORE EVIL than Sid ever was?), so why
  398. even bother following the rule?
  399.
  400. They play SO fast and loose with the rule, it might as well not
  401. exist, but yet they treat it as something SO important they will
  402. rather get crushed by a truck or exploded to pieces than break it.
  403.
  404. I mean, if Woody wants to get crushed by the truck rather than
  405. move 2 cm away, why would he think it's OK to break the rule
  406. for avoiding being blown up to little pieces? Wouldn't they die
  407. just the same in each case? What makes one case so different
  408. from the other?
  409.
  410. 20) Why would it be so incredible that Buzz could fly? He might
  411. as well, because all of the toys can ALREADY magically move mass
  412. without any explainable power coming from anywhere. Why would
  413. levitation or flying be more magical than Woody being able to
  414. move its arms?
  415.
  416. 21) Woody and Buzz look at each other when the camera is zoomed
  417. in on them in the car, while Andy is still HOLDING them.
  418.
  419. Andy OR his mother or both could EASILY have seen that! What if
  420. the mother had happened to glance at some mirror or just
  421. looked back for a second and saw that happen? They were
  422. looking at each other, so they could NOT have seen mom turn
  423. her head - unless they don't need their eyes to see, in
  424. which case, why even bother looking at each other?
  425.
  426. The premise creates SO many problems, this movie shouldn't
  427. even exist.
  428.
  429.
  430.
  431.
