Johnny Kicks Daniel's Ass

	Johnny held out the radio to Daniel. "You want it?" he asked menacingly. Then, suddenly, he rammed the radio at Daniel, knocking him down.

	Daniel's own rage erupted and he sprang at Johnny. Johnny deftly stepped aside and Daniel tripped into the sand.

	"Stop it!" cried Ali, in vain.

	Once again, Daniel charged at Johnny, but this time Johnny didn't step aside. As Daniel neared him, Johnny's leg shot out and caught him in the chest, throwing him to the ground and knocking the wind out of him.

	All the kids on the beach gathered around Johnny and Daniel.

	"Get up," they yelled at Daniel. Slowly, he pulled himself up, shaking his head to clear his vision.

	"How about it, hero," jeered Johnny. "Had enough?"

	For a second Daniel didn't move. Then, without warning, he lunged at Johnny, swinging wildly as he came. One of his punches connected with Johnny's nose, and a small trickle of blood appeared. Johnny stepped back, surprised.

	"Now we're even, right?" Daniel said hopefully.

	Johnny stared at Daniel. As their eyes measured each other, Johnny's body moved, catlike, into a karate stance, knees flexed, arms raised, one to defend, one to attack.

	"No mercy," said Johnny.

	"Stop it!" Ali tried again.

	"You started it, Ali," said Johnny. "Now I have to finish it. All I wanted to do was talk." His voice was cold.

	"No mercy!" chanted Johnny's friends.

	Daniel's dwindling cheering section was Freddy.

	"Karate him!" he called. "Drop him now!"

	It was over in a few seconds. Johnny's lightning speed karate kicks downed Daniel and he could barely stumble to his feet. Johnny and his gang mounted their dirt bikes and rode away.
