- Chapter 26: Witnessing The Past
- "Let me get this straight." Sam said as he followed Tres through a dark hallway. "You want me to retrieve the Piece of Eden?"
- Tres nodded. "That's right."
- "Are you crazy?" Sam yelled. "That object is long gone. How am I supposed to find it?"
- "That is why I brought you here." Tres then opened a door and entered a room with a machine like structure with some artifact installed in several places. He then gave Sam a wristband to wear. "You will go to the past and retrieve it."
- "You're kidding, right?" Sam groaned. "You don't expect me to believe I can actually go to the past?"
- "That's another reason you're here." Tres said. "We need you to help us test our time machine. We're willing to pay you a lot more than we discussed on the phone."
- Sam thought about it for a moment then nodded. "I'll do it. What do you want me to do?"
- -----------------------------------------------------
- Kaith had overheard everything, having teleported there by accident. "you don't really think they can go to the past?"
- "Well, if they can then we should keep an eye on the painless flirt." Lukgar said.
- Kaith managed to hear Tres explaining Sam how he'll go to the past then saw the structure being acivated. He managed to take a wristband then waited until Sam went through the portal that opened up. Kaith then doved after Sam, avoiding being seen by Tres.
- ------------------------------------------------------------
- Sam opened his eyes and he was surprised to find himself in an ancient city with people wearing robes. "I don't believe it. This really is the past."
- "Looks like you got there safely. Now go to Solomon's Temple. You know what to do." Tres spoke through the wristband. "Remember that the wristband is so we can keep a lock on you and bring you back to our time."
- Sam nodded. "Gotcha. Over and out." He then walked to the temple, using his memory of the game.
- -----------------------------------------------------------
- Kaith had also arrived, now wearing clothes similar to Mithos with a white hood so he could blend in. He saw Sam walking slowly then began following him. "What would he want with the Piece of Eden."
- "I don't know. I still can't believe we're actually in the past." Lukgar said.
- ------------------------------------------------------------
- Sam had managed to blend in, avoiding the guards and completely unaware of Kaith following him, also having managed to blend in. He soon reached his destination and snuck underground. Sam followed the path until he witnessed the confrontation between the Templars and two of the Order. He took advantage of the distraction jumping down and taking the Piece of Eden. Two Templars saw him but Sam quickly killed them then took the hidden blade and longsword from a dead assassin.
- "Return that treasure at once." The surviving assassin said.
- "I'm afraid that I can't do that." Sam said as the Templar leader orered his men to go after him. Sam managed to climb up the rafters and go back to the surface. Unfortunately, Kaith quickly snatched the Piece of Eden from him.
- "I don't know what you're planning to do with this, but I'm afraid I can't let you have it." Kaith said as he unsheathed a Saint Rapier. "Stealing this means changing the past."
- Sam glared at Kaith as he wielded the longsword he took. "Sorry, but I was hired to take the Pece of Eden."
- "I can't let you have it." Kaith replied.
- "Then it seems we've reached an impasse." Sam said as he then charged at Kaith.
- That's it for this chapter. It looks like the three siblings have made a time machine. Look forward to a great battle in the next chapter. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter.
