If she has off, she does work in her dormitory room.
- Personality: She is quite used to the American culture since she moved to Oregon. Merida is a very hardworking, studious student at the academy. She does concentrate on her work and is quite shy around new people, especially around girls since she's a lesbian. She does keep that to herself while blushing around the female students. She does have a tomboyish personality, although sometimes she does like to dress up every once in a while, especially when going out for a coffee during her breaks or during her days off. When working at the a Two Whale's Diner, she does tend to get annoyed at the arguments that go between some customers and Joyce but, mainly tries to ignore it. She sometimes get tired in the morning since most of them are early shifts, especially if she starts her day around six AM. She also tries her best to be nice to the customers, especially if they are fellow students from the academy. She does work, not only for the money, but also, to increase her skills as in talking to some people instead of focusing on her homework all the time. She sometimes does not like to start a fight, but, if she gets into one, she does try to defend herself with a sharp tongue.
- History: Merida grew up in Britain and had parents, who did teach her that having a "double life" is not that bad, since they think that more she would work, the more money she would obtain. Although Merida preferred one job that possibly do a giant paycheck at once, she decided to give it a shot. So, for a start, she decided to work at her family's cafe while being homeschooled. While doing those two jobs at once, her father at home was looking to see if there was a better place for the family to move in, and a school for Merida to interact and be educated in so, she could learn on how to be social. He found a high school in Arcadia Bay, Oregon, and thought it would be a good fit for her. At first, her mother was a little bit shocked to notice that he would let her go to a school since she was homeschooled all her life. After Merida came back home from work, she overheard the conversation between her parents regarding the unsure decision of moving to America. As soon as Merida heard them mention a "new school" she gazes at her father's computer and looked at the academy website for herself, and she did, indeed like on how the school looked and wanted to go. Her mother, hearing her excitement to go to the school, felt nervous since she was used to her being homeschooled and her own mom teaching her. Merida thought that this was an opportunity to have her go out there and interact with all sorts of people, besides her talking with customers in the cafe. Her mother respected her wishes and thought that it would not be a bad idea. Several months later, the family palaces their belongings and started to pack for the big move. Before they had to move officially, they had to go through many processes to earn their citizenship licenses in America, such as filling out applications for a house and Blackwell Academy, biometrics examinations, and meeting the qualifications of becoming a citizen. Merida, although home, did have an online social media life and luckily, some lived in America, so, she got them to help her, with forms. One year later, the family moved to America and found a home in Arcadia Bay that's near the school. Although Merida did feel at home, she was feeling a bit nervous about starting the new school. While having some scones and tea at a cafe after some dress shopping, Merida told her mother that she felt some anxiety while seeing other girls looking at her hair in a weird way. Her mother gave her confidence that all she had to do was be herself throughout the semester and she would be successful in the academy. At around September, Merida started her freshman year at Blackwell Academy and there was plenty of changed that happened in just one year. She was starting to get used to being in classrooms and going from class to class, learning about her orientation, which is being a lesbian, and even her living in a dormitory. She did make some friends and had to fight back against bullies along the way, but overall, liked the feeling of being in a public building with people her own age. While being in the school, she got a job at the "Two Whale's Diner" as a waitress and although the work was tough, she was able to handle it. She tried to manage the double work life between being at the school and doing her job at the diner. When being at the diner, she was hearing all sorts of conversations, including the disappearance of Rachel Amber. She was mainly hearing that back and forth and she did have hope of her returning to her family. Although the moving transition was a lot, Merida learned throughout the process that a new adventure would be a good result.
