  1. Hey guys, it's Nnamdi. Here's my dorm senator platform for Hunt East:
  2.
  3. 1. Give everyone equal access to appliances and materials on hall. I've noticed just by walking through halls that there is a variety of appliances available for each person's use. Some halls have toasters, others have kettles, etc.. I'd like to fix this problem by providing everyone with access to the same appliances by talking with CCs to try and get these appliances. This would be on a petition based system, where a significant amount (possibly 1/5 - 1/4) of the hall would have to sign off for the petition to be considered.
  4.
  5. 2. Material Orders: This is a proactive program in which either RLAs or CCs would be able to fill out a form to order items on Sunday that they think will be gone by either Wednesday or Friday. Now some may ask: why do we need this program? RLAs can already directly place orders for items they're out of, and they can do it in advance too. I get that, but this way, we streamline the process, and allow maintenance to deliver the items all at once, so that the process is done quicker and there's a guarantee that the items will arrive the day that you want.

  7. This would solve a problem that I see happening quite frequently: a hall is out of an item, RLAs order it, but there's no guarantee on when it'll arrive, or it takes really long for it to arrive. Also, items are frequently gone at different times, for example: one hall might go through paper towels quickly, but not go through toilet paper as quickly. You could list paper towels to be delivered on Wednesday, and toilet paper to be delivered on Friday. Now RLA's can still order supplies that they want delivered at any time, but this would just provide a consistent option.

  9. 3. Being able to apply for Sleepovers / "Open lounge": Even though the infrastructure already exists, I think that Hunt East could benefit from increased awareness for the program. A lot of people didn't know that this program existed, and I think that if the program were advertised more, we could increase hall inclusivity and hall bonding. For example, we could have days that CCs plan beforehand (for example, before extended weekends or holidays) where we have an "open lounge", where residents from Hunt East just sign up for another Hunt East hall a certain amount of time before the open lounge date, and then they are allowed to be in that hall's lounge for a sleep over. There could be movie screenings, snacks, games, and much more honestly. I think it would be a great way to add variety to inter-hall activities and also increase awareness about the sleepover program available.

  11. 4. I truly believe in transparency and the right for every resident's voice to be heard. As such, I have created a google form for people that want to give feedback or ideas to implement: https://forms.gle/9PhHW8zkg1mi2dcz5

  13. Okay, that's it for now. Thanks to everyone that's supporting me. Remember: Your choice today, your voice tomorrow!
