  1. Hatsune was upon the man- The strong, violent man that had done so much. He'd stolen from her- Berated her- But he'd also spared her. Or rather, the fight wasn't to the death... And he'd given such a long speech beforehand about sparing Gehennese. Not wishing them death. The mermaid's blasting winds tore at him as he danced in them alike- Where a sledgehammer of gale was thrown, he merely diverted it and used it to propel himself forward.
  2.
  3. Where her holy light touched, his twisting corrosion ate away at it. The man was as powerful a magi as she was and half as old. There was no pillar of ice- There was no time for such a thing with this man. The fight did not last hours- It was a terrible, bloody affair. The mermaid could not keep up healing. She collected cut after cut and wound after wound that merely bleed its terrible, acrid green ichor over the battlefield. It washed away in the rain, but her cuts, for once, did not.
  4.
  5. The plains he'd taken refuge in- The open field he'd asked for before were for him! She had nothing to hide behind, nothing to use in her calculative mind to her own advantage...
  6.
  7. But the mermaid, when forced, was just as violent, bloody, and quick. Ice slammed into him, wind tore at him between his swings, and the water weighed down him heavier and heavier as the rain grew louder around them.
  8.
  9. Bones cracked as she rushed forward at him, her body encased in a glacial shroud and weighing twice as it did before. The golden light that spilled out from her cried of righteous fury- A feeling on the soul that there was something terrible wrong in this world that was worth fighting for!
  10.
  11. "Aren't we all so blessed to die, Uro Tlahcotzin!?"
  12.
  13. Her voice sang with the world around her- Another occultist and sinner laid before her as she slammed into him. His axe was thrown aside. His burning shroud sizzled at her own flesh- Marking her as she'd never been before. Even her recent fight with Xomac Tepin had not been so taxing on the mermaid.
  14.
  15. "Demon fetishist! Worshipper of a Dead God! Slayer! Thief! Aren't we all so blessed to die, Uro, for only in death will you ever be anything unlike what you are now!"
  16.
  17. There was no burst of holy water this time- Not the same she'd used for Xomac. The spur along her wrist, a carefully cultivated, sharp little blade of bone, slams down against his chest and tears his flesh. There was no peaceful passing for occultists. There was no painless death. Holy waters only harmed them forever- And so the mercy was doing it dry.
  18.
  19. She drug her arm down and split his cavity open, rattling that bone against shattered ribs before shoving her hand inside. Blood poured out along her wrist, spilled out around his body, and she tore his heart from his chest. It beat in her webbed fingers still, arteries still attached.
  20.
  21. There was a violent cracking noise from her jaw as she dislocated it. Three rows of teeth bared themselves, the first sharp and wide like daggers and the back two pointed inwards and barbed like needles. Her head descended as she began to sing. She wrapped her lips and teeth around the muscle, and the noise still sang through the air around her.
  22.
  23. "Stone by stone you'll weigh yourself,~"
  24. "Propped upon the coral shelf.~"
  25. "The scales of the almighty Yama you'll adorn!"
  26.
  27. "You'll ease his burden for a'hundred year!"
  28. "This the fate you should have feared!"
  29. "Know that you will finally do the world some good!~"
  30.
  31. The heart beat as it rolled down her throat, making her neck swell and contract. Somehow, the song kept going, the heart kept beating, until the last lyric...
  32.
  33. And then snap.
  34.
  35. Arteries severed. His heart was eaten whole. Her jaw cracked back into place... Another soul to aid Yama weighing sins.
  36.
  37.
  38. (Hatsune Panic)
