- Below is the color, effect, and possible chemicals for Thermite for Eriko’s use.
- These offer no bonuses to science, thrown, or other skills but offers a variety for her to choose from for various situations.
- Very Hot = hotter than normal thermite.
- ------------------------------
- Red- Normal Thermite (Basic stuff) Melts at high temperature and is a quick reaction, tends to set things on fire. This is the most commonly made/used Thermite.
- Yellow- Fluoropolymer and aluminum powder, with sodium nitrate as colorant and in a plasticizer and solvent mixture to render it injectable and “settable” in tight spaces. Sticks to vertical surfaces. Burns very hot, with minimal residue.
- Uses- Safe Cracking, opening locked doors, locking doors (Welding?)
- Green- Manganese Dioxide and zirconium, with barium nitrate and parlon as colorant. Burns extremely fast, and cooler than normal thermite, with lots of smoke. No splatter, with manganese byproduct being average in yield. Minor blast effect if confined, and suitable for destroying locks or clearing a room.
- Uses- Smokescreen, Room clearing, and destroying locks
- Teal- Made with cupric oxide and aluminum powder, with free copper and parlon(chlorine donor) as a colorant. Slightly lower temperature than red thermite, with a much faster reaction. Throws sparks and flashes extremely brightly.
- Uses- Room Clearing, signalling. Emergency Beacon when separated?
- Purple- Vanadium pentoxide and zirconium, with strontium nitrate copper and parlon as a colorant. Burns extremely hot at a slow rate with no spatter, with maximum molten byproduct(vanadium). Burns hot enough to melt through steel, as opposed to merely welding it. ~2-3 minutes of constant burning
- Uses - Melting through metals, area denial
- Pink- Calcium Sulfate(CaSO4) and zirconium. Burns extremely fast, with maximum splatter and secondary fires due to metallic byproduct(molten calcium) being pyrophoric(burns in air).
- Uses- Weapon
- White- Fluoropolymer(PTFE) and aluminum, with titanium and parlon as colorant. Burns slowly and exceedingly brightly with minimal sparks or molten byproduct. Brighter and hotter than a flare.
- Uses- Flare, Lighting
- Additives and accessories:
- Delay fuze - standard 3 second delay fuze assemblies.
- Impact fuze - Potassium permanganate, sulfur and glycerin fuze designed to initiate upon impact(such as when thrown or dropped).
- Magnesium Strip - for longer delays(roll of 10ft).
- Charge tubes - cardboard tubes with end caps and fuze wells, varying sizes.
- Adhesive - A caulk type adhesive for adhering thermite charges to surfaces.
- Plasticizer - a PTFE/Aluminum/Sulfur based plasticizer to render thermite compositions moldable and puttylike in consistency
- Powered caulking gun - compact battery operated “gun” for laying adhesive or beads of Yellow thermite.
