  1. from /hhg/ Helluva Hotel general #688
  2. ------------------------------------
  3. So what's the deal with Heaven? Helluva Boss portrays it as a land with cutsie animal but Hazbin portrays the angels as fking psychopathic ninja murderers.
  4. -
  5. heaven is full of good-natured cuties, but it also has a hardcore deathsquad on standby. don't fk with heaven.
  6. ---
  7. According to the bible there are many kinds of Angels.
  8. But don't trust what reddit says about angels.
  9. -
  10. it's very clear from the bible itself that there are many types of angels
  11. ---
  12. >>37683776
  13. Aye fair enough.
  14. >>37683824
  15. Eh right true.
  16. ---
  17. As a local friendly /x/phile, i gladly deliver you a list.
  18. And you are right, reddit are as always retrded.
  19. ---
  20. Collin's evil now, but its the tamest "evil" things ever.
  21. -
  22. I hope nothing bad happens to him.
  23. ---
  24. So I imagine the killer angels would be like the Powers, yes?
  25. -
  26. probably
  27. -
  28. I believe so. Sending a squad of angels into Hell to fk sht up annually is a bit strange even for Powers, though. If the exterminators are ever explored, I wouldn't be surprised if some angel created them.
  29. -
  30. We've speculated that a character from the early concept art may be the one behind the exterminations and the exterminators if they survived all the revisions and ended up making it into the current iteration of the show.
  31. -
  32. you know, it isn't 1:1 to the bible, the Exterminators might be an entirely new classification of angel designed for a specific purpose like the thrones were.
  33. ---
  34. I think they would be the Destroying Angels. Like the one that killed all Egypt's firstborns.
  35. Vivzie follows the Mormonic views of Heaven and Hell, so the Destroying Angels wouldn't be too far fetched in this version.
  36. -
  37. >Mormonism
  38. Oh.
  39. -
  40. >Dude let me in, I'm a fairy
  41. -
  42. I don't know anything about Mormon views of heaven and hell. Interesting to know she follows that.
  43.
  44. I assume it doesn't mean there's spider prostitutes and drugs though, haha.
  45. -
  46. >Mormonic views of Heaven and Hell
  47. Mmm, yes
  48. -
  49. >A big part of Mormon theology and belief is that Heaven and Hell in the traditional sense don’t actually exist.
  50. >Mormon Heaven is built up into three degrees based off of how closely someone kept commandments and ordinances in life.
  51. >Mormon “Hell“ is a Prison where people are taught the commandments they neglected in life and given the chance to go to one of the degrees of Heaven when they are reformed and “baptized” (big reason Mormons do “baptisms for the dead”)
  52. >The big point of Mormon Afterlife is that the only people who will suffer damnation are those who reject salvation after being given every opportunity.
  53. I mean, Hazho gets the “Hell is a reformation program” half-down...
  54. -
  55. That seems rather convenient, I like Mormon hell.
  56.
  57. Although doesn't that mean it's only confirmed Mormon Hell if Charlie's right?
  58. -
  59. It's already a mish-mash of different depictions of Hell, including some of the more esoteric ideas.
  60. The fact that it's composed of "rings" is just Dante's fanfiction that has been accepted as a norm, but isn't really supported by Christian theology.
  61. -
  62. Imagine if in 500 years, "Vivzmind's Hell" becomes a thing people mention in discussions of Hell depictions.
  63. -
  64. Crazy to see how the future will be huh?
  65. ---
  66. Its entirely possible, just look at Dantes Inferno.
  67. That was essentially a self insert fanfiction written a little over 700 years ago and its still brought up today.
  68. I still think Dante got lazy with treachery since he couldn't think of a third famous traitor to use after Judas and Marcus Brutus so he just used one of Caesars assassins again.
  69. -
  70. That's what I mean. Not to tip my fedora, but it's always been some guys writing something down that makes this stuff happen.
  71.
  72. All those angel types and hierarchies? One guy, Isidore of Seville, just wrote that shit down in a book and made it Christian canon.
  73. -
  74. From what I can tell, it's a hot mess. The hierarchies of angels are only mentioned by name, which is arguably not even naming angels. Thrones are included in this, though.
  75. ---
  76. i dunno man
  77. the bible we use today, at least the ones my family used, is just a bunch of writings from random jackasses slapped together after a thorough cherry picking
  78. -
  79. I've heard that the King James Version is the best version because it has the least revisions in it.
  80. I wouldn't really know since I've only read the New International Version.
  81. -
  82. I thought it was the best version because King James had the best grasp on english at the time and was able to accurately translate for the period and still have it sound great when read today.
  83. -
  84. Yeah, the KJB lobby is pretty strong...
