First trip to wastes proven challenging, multiple bands of hostile fauna, gangs and mutants surround the area of the Broken Hills requiring the unit to calculate multiple alternative routes during journey. On multiple occasions 'Cronwell' unit was forced to engage local bands of hostile civilians, enforcing permanent pacification when verbal warnings became inefficient. During the travels it was possible to retrieve multiple instances of low grade energy weapons that were presented to Senior Paladin as per given instructions.

Unit was able to reach settlement of Shady Sands, heavily fortified with its own private army belonging to a faction named New California Republic. Due to given orders unit was forced to avoid hostile actions towards encountered instances of super mutants seeing their affiliation with earlier mentioned private military force, which in turn allowed the unit to approach the external section of Shady Sands, where after a lengthier stay 'Cronwell' unit joined one of few local merchant caravans, using their own firepower as means to safely reach different settlements, located further south from the base.

Due to threat that encountered creatures, mutants and hostile civilian forces displayed during caravan marches the unit decided to return back to Shady Sands where it established a temporary FOB, one necessary to safely store tech, currency and back up equipment required in near future. Until given additional orders unit will resume its duty, providing additional reports in near future.
