➯ Elliot Huang was born in San Francisco, California, he was born into a pretty wealthy-ish family. Growing up, his parents weren’t home a lot because of their work, so he was mostly raised by a nanny. He also was very close with his brother, Noah, who was five years older. Noah used to always take him out to places on mini “adventures” and Elliot always looked up to him. Sometimes they would sneak out of the house, away from the nanny and go out into the city. Growing up, he was artistic as well, he wrote a lot of random lyrics and loved drawing pictures that he would give to his nanny or brother.

➯ As a kid, he was very friendly and loved making friends at school. He had a big friend group and was known for his humor around school, during elementary school he was like a class clown. In middle school, his friends and other kids started to notice his more gullible side. When he was in seventh grade, all of his friends pressured into kissing a girl that liked him. Elliot didn’t really want to kiss her, but didn’t want to let his friends down. That’s when he realized that he was gay, we actually realized. He had always sort of known, since he was younger but that was when he really realized it. Living in San Francisco, where it was accepting to be gay, he came out, and his friends supported him. It felt nice to be supported by them. Although when he was in eight grade around the end and the summer, a few guys that he knew would use his naive and gullible nature to use him to see if they were gay or not. It really played with his emotions, but he just smiled and laughed it off like he always did.

➯ A quarter into his freshman year of high-school, his dad announced that he got a big promotion and had to move to South Korea. Elliot was devastated when he heard the news that his whole family had to move. He was mostly scared to move to a new country, where he couldn’t speak the language and where the country didn’t really accept gay people. In the few weeks it took them to move, he tried his best to learn as much korean as he could. When he got to South Korea, he sort of built up a shell and didn’t talk as much, because he used to always get really embarrassed when trying to speak in korean. He learned to try and talk really fast to make it sound like he knew what he was talking about. Some people made fun of him for his broken korean skills and being the new kid, but he tried to just smile it off. Elliot used writing lyrics as an escape to feel more calm and to write about his experiences. A little bit after he moved, he met some nice people, who sort of took him under their wings and helped him out. They helped him learn more korean, and helped him try and feel comfortable. Elliot slowly started breaking out of his shell over the next three years.

➯ When he was in sophomore year, his brother had just finished college and Elliot spent a lot of time with him, and even sometimes slept over at his apartment when he didn’t want to be alone in an empty house. Elliot thought that Noah was doing really good. Although, one day he came home and his parents cars were there, which was the first red flag. When he went in the house he found his mom crying and his dad yelling, furious. That was when he was told that Noah was being sent to prison for being apart of a big drug ring, and selling a bunch of illegal drugs. The news had spread and some people had made jokes to Elliot about it, but she just tried to brush it off.

➯ he’s ethnically taiwanese and has been there a couple of times to visit family, but he only knows like two things in mandarin.
