basically Production are trying to get us hire people that will be available as soon as possible, currently your proposed start date of September for a 2-3 month stint means they would:

 - likely have to try to find someone to cover before that
 - then if you left in November have to find someone again afterwards fro 1-2 months.

and they're unlikely to sign off on that, and they are encouraging us to find other candidates that can work from August-December...

However, I do see a high chance of there being a crazy rush a in the last few months, and them asking us to hire a few people then.. So is there a chance you could do:

 - October- mid/late December?  - this may mean you have to wait until a bit longer for a contract
 - or early September to mid/late December? - we could prob get you a contract soon

let me know, I know its not perfect with your time frames..
