When his father died, August was only 10 years old and his brother was 7. Him, his "mother", and his brother moved to South Korea to be closer to his father's family since they were having a hard time since he died.
Ever since he was just a little kid, August has always been frustrating and never wanted to do as he was told. It wasn't until the age of 18 when he realized that he didn't have to listen to what his mother says anymore, this is when he went off on his own and discovered his love for nature and animals and the smaller things in life.
What he never knew was that his mother isn't his real mother. Though she knows that he is really the son of a goddess, she has never told him to keep him safe. She knows that if he knew he is a demigod that he would go do something crazy.

-How they met: They bumped into each other by accident. August was carrying a big bag of horse feed for a few horses he had met out in the meadow and couldn't see where he was going. After bumping into each other Hoseok had suggested to help him carry the bag of horse feed to his destination, after helping him they never had expected to see each other again. August kept seeing him everywhere though.

When they first met, August was very flustered and studdered whenever they talked and he is pretty sure he was blushing the whole time because Hoseok is super attractive and super nice. After that August kept stealth whenever he saw Hoseok, so Hoseok would never see him. So basically August was kind of spying on him because he liked him. Then whenever they started talking to each other again, they always just acted like friends because thats all Hoseok thought that August wanted to be.
