- honestly the biggest thing im curious about is the longevity of the ring
- i do rec putting the strap on OVER your shorts/pants, i put mine directly against the skin and it pinched a little and was slipping a bit. putting it on over the shorts made it to where it didn't hurt as much to wear and the sweat wasnt going to make it slip
- yeah it will be interesting to see how long it lasts. I wonder if there's anyone that does like bodybuilding who is playing that can talk about the ring. I can pull and push it pretty hard (with really strong resistance) but I have the strength of a noodly fly so idk how someone who has hardcore muscles can handle the ring
- yeah that's my biggest thing im curious about is how effective it is compared to similar things like it and well can i expect this thing to like break in a year? idk
- compared to other games, the ring fit is 80 bucks, so the ring itself was 20 bucks of the cost
- I wouldnt mind replacing it once a year but i'd WANT it to last longer
- that's true, it'd be neat if it was decently popular that they add like new courses and other stuff to the game
- so you aren't like 2 years in and nothing has changed
- i want more body customization for the avatar
- right now I set it up to yell at me 4 days a week to do a course, with 3 days rest
- the jogging is ACTUALLY the hardest part for me :joy: actually moving through the level lmao
- how are the workouts they mostly cardio?
- so 'exercise time' is only the time that you are in fights. the jogging doesnt count in the total! so to move you jog at your own speed, sometimes you need to use the ringcon to pick up things, blast doors, and use it to jump over obstacles. you have to do moving knee raises to get up stairs or through water
- the fights themselves are exercises like squats, warrior pose, knee lifts, overhead press
- you start out with like. 1-2 exercises? I just did one level so I havent gotten to the game proper. from what i've seen from streams, you get new exercises at a nice pace and you can customize your exercise set . there's type advantage, to do more dmg to a monster you use an exercise of the same color.
- yoga stuff is green, leg stuff is purple, etc
- ok so its more involved than i thought, how accurate is it at detecting what you were doing?
- any hang-ups due to motion control nonsense?
- good, when it was asking me to do knee lifts to get up stairs it was pretty strict. i have mobility issues, so I am going to have to finangle where I wear the joycon on my leg
- i have really bad aim , but from what i've seen the aiming is fine, it's more like yo uhave to learn how far to move the real ringcon = to how it moves in game. the only issues i've seen have been the heartbeat sensor, which isnt accurate anyway it's just a tool to visualize how much it's 'changing' from before exercise to after so you can keep an eye
- it keeps really good track of the exercises you are doing too, so at the end of the sesssion you can take a screenshot and put it into a fitness/tracking app if you'd like, which is nice
- yeah i doubt they'd put a sensitive heart sensor in it
- i would like to see it have integration with myfitnesspal or something
- that'd be cool
- honestly i expect the same heart sensor they'd throw in like the treadmills and such where "you can grab it to see heartrate but in terms of accuracy...... uhhh kinda on a good day?"
- yeah XD it's the sensor on the joycon itself, youre putting your thumb against it
- so i wouldnt even carea bout it unless you want to see how your heart rate changes
- ahhhhhhhhhhh
- cause that thing aint accurate lmao. if someone REALLY needs to keep an eye, they need to get a bp cuff
