Example script - Johan

The Situation:
Rumors arise regarding a photo of Johan and Evan sharing a kiss at a party circulating all over the school. Johan learns that it was his girlfriend who took and spread the photo. When Johan gets home, his conservative, religious parents confront him about the photo. Throughout the day, Evan fails to reach Johan in-person. Afterschool, Johan, acting impulsively, drives up to Evan's house.

Evan: I'm not, why?
Johan: I'm outside.
Evan: Wait, what? Why? What's going on?

Johan: Hop in the car.

*Evan: The slowest fifteen minutes of my life pass by. He hasn't uttered a single word since.
*Evan: It's been really quiet, except for the faint whistling from a leaky car window and the sounds of other cars on the road.
*Evan: Still, it's too silent for comfort. Johan didn't even bother turning on the radio.
*Evan: Should I turn it on?
*Evan: Maybe not… I should minimize my actions. I don't want to risk provoking him.

Pause 5s

*Evan: Something is disturbing Johan.
*Evan: Is this how he blows off steam? By bringing his perpetrators on joyrides to torment them?
*Evan: …
*Evan: If I'm in the car with him, that must mean…
*Evan: No…
*Evan: …
Evan: Was it something I did?
*Evan: Shoot, did I say that out loud?

Johan: …
Johan: No.
Johan: You didn't do anything wrong.

Evan: …
*Evan: Phew! At least now I feel more at ease… slightly.
*Evan: Though it doesn’t help that I'm sitting in Johan's car when he really shouldn't be driving right now.
*Evan: And I still don't know where the heck we're going.
*Evan: Is he going to jump out of the car right before he drives the car off a cliff?

*Evan: We're passing a lot of cars…
*Evan: …
*Evan: Wait…
*Evan: I peek at the dashboard--
*Evan: Ninety miles per hour!?
*Evan: Is that how fast we are going right now?
*Evan: I don’t think I've ever been in a vehicle moving this fast before!
*Evan: Shit… if anything bad were to happen, would I make it?

Evan: I was thinking that had something to do with uh… the reason you wanted to see me.
Johan: Yeah…
Johan: …
Johan: …Do you happen to know anything else?
Evan: No, not really.
Johan: …
Johan: I see.
Johan: …
Johan: I think… you deserve to know the full story.

*Evan: We get out of the car. I join Johan as he sits on the hood of his car.

*Evan: We sit there for about ten minutes, basking in the moonlight and the cold air.
*Evan: Though a million thoughts are probably running through his head, Johan seems much more composed now.
*Evan: I could probably stay here forever if I really wanted to.
*Evan: Oh, if only I could freeze time…
*Evan: …

Johan: Hey, Evan…
Evan: Yeah, what's up?
Johan: I don't know if I'm ready to drive back yet…
Evan: Oh, I don't really have a curfew and I don't mind if you need to take a nap or--
Johan: No, it's not that. I…
Johan: …
Johan: I don't know how I can deal with… people back home… and if I can face my friends and family the same way ever again.
Johan: Everyone sees me differently now.
Johan: Uh… Evan?
Evan: I'm still listening.
Johan: …
Johan: I'm just worried, that's all…
Evan: …

Evan: Wow… we can actually see the stars in the sky.
Johan: Now that's something we don't see every day. Must be because of all the light pollution in the city.
Evan: Yeah.
Evan: …
Evan: Johan, did you know you're also a star?
Johan: What do you mean?
Evan: You're the school president, wrestling team captain, and I've heard about how you were a track star as well.
Evan: Oh, and not to mention you were nominated as Most Athletic in last year's pop polls.
Johan: I'm surprised you remember that… Even I forgot.
Evan: Indeed.
Evan: But there's more to who you are than just your achievements and the things you've done.
Evan: You have the potential to shine bright. To fully embrace and show the world who you truly are.
Evan: But something is holding you back. What is it?
Johan: …
Johan: It's probably my reputation.
Johan: I was unheard of during my freshman year, and it wasn't until sophomore year when I decided to begin building my reputation and status.
Johan: I started getting involved in sports and extracurriculars, I took leadership roles at my father's church, and before I knew it, I was climbing the ladder.
Johan, My whole life, community, persona… they were founded at school and church. It's all I've ever known.
Johan: But looking back now, everything seems so… fragile.
Johan: The way people see me could change in an instant… which was probably what happened when Kelly decided to… you know…
Evan: …
Evan: But you know what doesn't change? Who you are.
Evan: Who cares what others think about you?
Evan:  …
Evan: It's easier said than done, of course. And I know you have friends and family who deeply care about you and who you care about as well.
Evan: Talk to those people. Find the people who are closest to you, who will support you and stand up for you no matter what.
Evan: …
Evan: Start with one. See how that goes and where it takes you.
Johan: …
Johan: I think I may have someone in mind to talk to.

Evan:  I'm really glad you took me out here today. Even if it was totally unplanned for us to end up here.
Johan: No, thank you.
