General knowledge:

1. Write a definition of what a demon is according to you. (200 words minimum)
A demon is a fallen angel, originally created by God that had a part in creating the universe. God decreed that angels should not reveal themselves to humans, however many angels thought this order was counter productive to their task of supporting humans and helping them. Eventually, Lucifer and those who supported him went against God’s order and revealed themselves to humans; this resulted in a colossal war between the rebels and the loyalists. God initially punished the rebels by grounding them on the Earth, they were unable to return to heaven and were forced to spend all the time on Earth with the humans that they loved so much that they disobeyed an order from God himself. At the end of it all, the rebels were sent into the Abyss where they were to be imprisoned indefinitely, they had fallen from grace and were no longer recognised as angels by their loyalist counterparts. In the Abyss, fallen angels started questioning their beliefs as their imprisonment started to scratch away at their sanity and when the cracks in the Abyss appeared, the Fallen that escaped had to use human bodies as hosts to anchor themselves to the Earth, from there they would either resent the humans they once loved or attempt to continue what they once set out to do. In conclusion, a demon is a spirit that was once an angel, however for taking part in the rebellion against God, they were punished and became fallen angels, commonly referred to as demons.

2. What do you believe a demon's purpose in the world is ?(100 words min.)
A Fallen’s purpose in the world depends what faction they belong to. A Luciferian’s purpose might be to acquire as many followers as possible in an attempt to find Lucifer and help him continue the war against God. Whereas a Ravener, who has now come to resent and hate humans and everything created will attempt to destroy everything around them, causing pain and misery. Much like Luciferians, a Faustian will seek to encourage and make mortals more productive as they believe that they are a key part in the war and overthrowing God. Naturally, before they became Fallen, an angel’s purpose was to care for mortals and guide them.

3. What would a demon's personality be like ? How would it differ when compared to an angel's ? (150 words min) ?
A Fallen’s personality depends on their host and Fallen often take traits from their host and it becomes a part of them. Celestials do not have emotions and feelings akin to humans, so when a Fallen takes the body of a human as their host, they will suddenly discover everything that a human can feel and at first it may be overwhelming to them, they have never had the same feelings of lust, fear or happiness like a human has, it is all foreign and new to them and it is initially a lot to take in and a lot to get used to. Compared to the loyalists, who have not experienced anything like the Fallen have, and never will, the Fallen will have a considerably different personality after being imprisoned for so long and taking on a human body as a host. While all demons will experience the same human emotions and feelings, some may be more pronounced depending on the Fallen, for example, a Lammasu may be more lustful and loving where as a Ravener could be more aggressive, angry and violent.

4. Do demons possess any human traits ? (100 with a justification)
As stated above, the Fallen do indeed possess many human traits which they take on from their human hosts, they will initially not understand, they will not understand the concept of in a wife-husband relationship, they will not be able to love their partner because they are not their spouse, they are someone living in the body of their spouse, but at the same time, they will get the urge to care for them and want to be close to them. The Fallen may find themselves becoming more and more like their host as they take on their personality and continue using them as their host. Fallen such as the Earthbound are bound to inanimate objects and do not take on any human traits, they are evil and full of malice and hatred.

5. What do you know about Sebettu? (100 words min)
The Sebettu, more commonly referred to as the Houses and is literally translated as “the Seven” are the seven Houses which all celestials are a part of, regardless of whether they are Fallen or loyalist. Each House had a specific purpose in the creation of the world and the universe.
The Namaru (The First House) were the first angels to be created, their purpose was delivering the word of God to the other celestials.
The Asharu (The Second House) were responsible for element of air and movement, they also possessed the Breath of Life, having the ability to create and give life.
The Annunaki (The Third House) were responsible for controlling the physical world and created tools from nothing. During the Great War against God, the Fallen Annunaki provided weapons.
The Neberu (The Fourth House) were responsible for things such as the orbit of planets and the flow of time. They were in control of abstract concepts and things that would be difficult to understand by mortals, ultimately, most Fallen Neberu belong to the Cryptics faction.
The Lammasu (The Fifth House) had the responsibility of inspiring mortals to do their best and strive to achieve their ultimate goals, most Fallen Lammasu are part of the Faustian faction, where they continue to perform their duties in various ways in the modern world.
The Rabisu (The Sixth House) had the responsibility of overseeing the protection and growth of nature, ensuring its availability to humans. The Rabisu that fell hated how mortals constantly threatened their creations and as a result, most Fallen Rabisu are extremely violent.
The Halaku (The Seventh House) were the Angels of Death, they destroyed the creations from other houses when they had no more use and their time had come to an end. Halaku were debatably linked with the renewal of all things and Fallen Halaku had discovered that death was out of control in the modern world with no one to deal with it.

Character Story:(Min. 2000 words specifying his purpose and how he escaped hell.)

[Excerpt taken from one of Ophelia’s memory diaries]

How did humanity descend into such chaos? What a foolish question, I know exactly how everything got into this state, but this? A mother and father are supposed to love their children like no other, so why do I now occupy the body of a child who was ruthlessly beaten to death by her own parents, entirely unprovoked?

I never witnessed Ophelia’s torment for myself, although her memories are now essentially my own, so I shall start from the beginning and continue up until the present day: Ophelia Burns, my host, was born into an unfortunate life in the city of Detroit, a place crawling with people akin to mere insects, such as her parents. The moment Ophelia was born she was already subjected to a life of domestic abuse, as an infant she was often forgotten about, left at elementary school with no way to get home until the school contacted the parents, who were most likely either drinking, smoking or high on some sort of narcotic.

   It bewilders me as to how the school never saw what Ophelia was subjected to on a daily basis, perhaps because Ophelia always came to school with a smile on her face and never exhibited signs that anything was wrong. She was highly optimistic given her situation, it was like school was often a second home for her and her friends were her real family. She often wanted to participate in so-called ‘field trips’ (another form of escapism?), however despite her parents having no interest in caring for her, they refused to allow her to go and every time she handed them a permission sheet, she was shouted at and if either her mother or father were in a particularly bad mood, she would also receive beatings before being confined to her room.

   This abuse continued day-after-day, although Ophelia was never visibly disheartened. As time went by and she entered her teenage years, I can remember how the constant abuse wore away at her morale. Her high school grades, these arbitrary letters and numbers, were average and satisfactory but noticeably not her best work. This matters very little to me, however it these statistics clearly mattered to her peers and teachers, albeit there was no cause for concern since her grades were, as I said before, satisfactory.

It was almost like Ophelia was putting on an entirely new persona when ever she went out in public, although at the same time, I get the feeling that she genuinely wanted to be the person she acted in public and leave what she had been whittled down to on the inside behind. There’s not much to talk about here, it’s quite fascinating what both teenage boys and girls consider to be troubles and tribulations, yet to the adult self they are reflected on as trivial, and to me they are almost incomprehensible as to how they are even issues, but then again, I did not have the simple life of a mortal, it is one of many things that I do not understand in this new world and society.

Her memories and troubles become less trivial as she comes towards her final years of high school. I can understand the anxiety and concern behind these thought processes, at the end of all this education, she must step into a new world which she has never experienced before; what does she want to do? Does she wish to continue her studies? What does she want to study and dedicate her life to? Does she want to leave education and continue work? What a completely redundant concept: “work.” In order to achieve happiness in this modern world, you need money and in order to get money, you are required to work in the employ of someone else performing tasks you do not want to do. Therefore you spend all your time working to get money so you can be happy, however all your time is taken by work so you have no time to be happy.

Of course, there are those who are fortunate enough to start a career that they always dreamed of, and there are those who want to work for the sake of working; the latter impress me, they wish to be productive and do not necessarily perform their given tasks for the payment at the end, rather to improve the lives, situations and surroundings for themselves and those around them. So, what did Ophelia choose to do? She chose to go to college, however she was reigned in rather close by her parents, not being permitted to stay in student accommodation. I can remember how angry she felt at that, however she never lashed out or said anything, knowing what that would mean for her.

The next few years of Ophelia’s life are quite uplifting, she studied a higher level of mathematics to improve this (again, arbitrary) GPA number, so that she could then pursue a degree in Social Science. Not a surprising choice, the qualification seems to enable her to access jobs that revolve around helping other people. She thought long and hard about this decision, she wanted to help other people like herself when she was a child and no one had been there to help her then. Her time in a more adult environment paid off for her, she was becoming more independant and mixing well with fellow students, which seemed to agitate her parents more and more.

I understand what her parents wanted now, they didn’t want a child, nor did they see Ophelia as a child, she was naught but a slave to take care of things while her parents abused their own bodies with drugs and drink, taking out their aggression from insecurities and life failures on her. Eventually, the height of Ophelia’s achievements would take a turn for the worse, it angers me just thinking about it.

This was not long after she graduated from completing her degree, this is also where I come in. Ophelia’s independence angered her parents greatly, and eventually she brought up the courage to tell her parents that she wanted to move away from home to go to a university to continue her studies. Already under the influence of alcohol, they beat her relentlessly, and physically dragged her by her hair into her room where they continued to kick her while she was face down on the floor. Any attempt Ophelia made to get up was met by being struck in the back, she had multiple cuts on her body, major bruising and fractured bones. If her parents had stopped now, I wouldn’t be writing this and I would not be using Ophelia’s body right now, however that was not the case.

Her mother brought in a kitchen knife which she had fetched in her drunken rage. She started slashing at Ophelia, across her back before kicking her onto her back and slashing her chest and stomach through her clothes. I get the impression that their intention was not to kill, however to seriously harm. However, in their negligent, drunken frenzy they didn’t notice the extent of the damage they had done to her and when they had left her in her room to “reflect” on what she had done, they left her bleeding to death.
Around about this time, I had escaped through the cracks that had appeared in the Abyss, to describe how it felt in a way that can be written on paper and comprehended by a human, it felt like I was trapped in nothing but pitch black darkness with absolutely no indication of how much time had passed or what was going on outside the Abyss. It was the worst experience that cannot be fully described by anything humans can understand. To varying degrees, all Fallen in the Abyss had lost their sanity, so to see a crack in our eternal prison and the opportunity to escape was unbelievable.

As I left the Abyss, I felt it pulling me back, I had to find a way to anchor myself from being pulled back in, I was determined that I wasn’t going to be trapped back in there again. The only way to anchor oneself is to take the body of the broken willed, recently deceased or dying. I resisted the pull of the Abyss while I searched for a suitable host, which is how I came across Ophelia’s dying body; when I found her, she was on the edge of death, she had lost a copious amount of blood and was barely clinging to life, there was no doubt that she would have died within minutes, even if she could have received medical attention, she never would have made it a hospital where she could be treated properly.

The longer I remained in my pure spirit form, the more I risked being pulled back to the Abyss, so it was at this moment I entered Ophelia’s body, severing the waning connection between her body and her spirit. As I commanded the body to heal, I began to feel entirely new sensations, I could feel the pain disappearing as the various slashes across my - Ophelia’s body and the fractures among her bones healed.

After what felt like a minute or so of Ophelia’s body repairing, I rose to my feet, coming to grips with my new form. The emotion and feelings that Ophelia had once felt were foreign to me, but they were now my feelings and emotions. I felt like breaking down in tears right where I stood, but I had to keep myself composed as best I could, lest Ophelia’s parents may come back before I am prepared. I sat on my - Ophelia’s bed for a moment so I could compose myself and make sense of all these new thoughts and feelings in my head, but at the same time I felt like there wasn’t enough space in Ophelia’s mind. Of course, the knowledge I possessed could not be comprehended by a human, hence why I now write in these books; as time passes, I forget more and more about my previous experiences every day. I fear that there may be a point in time where I fully forget what everything was like before my imprisonment.

   I stood up and moved towards the door of Ophelia’s room, I noticed that Ophelia’s home was an apartment block in the busy city of Detroit, but that didn’t matter, it was irrelevant for now. I opened the door, it was unlocked and showed myself, or rather, Ophelia to her parents. They looked over and immediately stood up, shouting foul and vile language at me, furious that I seemingly had not learned my lesson. In their intoxicated haze, they must have not noticed that Ophelia’s wounds had completely healed, but it didn’t stop them from approaching to beat me again.

I felt angry, at the moment Ophelia’s mother approached with the blood stained kitchen knife again, I revealed myself as Ashedah, Virtue of the Dawn, fallen angel of the First House. Terror beset the both of them as they saw my Visage, the true form of a fallen angel. It was the last thing their mortal eyes saw as I struck the pair of them down with the wrath of the heavens, they were both consumed by a white fire and immediately perished, not even a chance to scream.

Two mortals who had seemingly spontaneously combusted would look suspicious, so after packing essential items for travel. I lit a match and used it to start a house fire, investigators would later determine that they perished in the fire due to their own negligence while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If they had performed an in-depth investigation, they might have suspected foul play, but I didn’t have to be concerned about that. This was Detroit, where authorities won’t invest their time and effort for the death of two low lives, a sad reality but this is what the world has come to, it seems.

Now I can begin my mission to find Lucifer without any obstruction, if my theory is correct, Lucifer could be trapped in a prison, specifically designed for him. Alternatively, he could be on Earth like myself, for how long? I don’t know. I’m absolutely sure of one thing, that he is still alive and still plans to continue what we originally set out to do. I must travel away from Detroit, there is nothing of use for me here. I must go somewhere where there are a high concentration of the supernatural, there is an infinite web of contacts among the supernatural, someone knows somebody else, perhaps they can give me clues on how to find Lucifer. Who knows, if I can also help the mortals at the same time, I am only further advancing what we set out to do, every deed is a small piece of something much greater.

I shall have to keep my persona of Ophelia Burns, if I can even call her a persona anymore, I believe her personality has affected me in many ways, that we are one in some aspects. Regardless, I am not just Ophelia Burns, I am Ashedah, fallen angel and Luciferian of the Namaru.

1.Can you use any power in public ?
No, any power that has some kind of notable effect and can be seen by mortals and identified as potentially supernatural is a dangerous risk and should not be used in public as it raises suspicion among mortals and can result in deadly consequences for those involved.

2.When and where is it safe to use your powers ? (100 words min.)
It is safe to use one's powers when they are in a secluded location where the unaware mortals are not able to see the effect of your powers. Using powers in places where a mortal could approach at any time is highly dangerous, even if the location is empty and desolate at the time. The best place to use powers is a place where only the supernatural can access. Some examples of inappropriate places to use powers would be in the middle of Palomino Creek, even if the streets are empty, someone could come out of a building or walk around the corner at any time and catch you in the act of using your powers. Folnkirk is a more appropriate place to use your powers as the majority of mortals do not know the location of Folnkirk or its existence.

4.Why is it important for a demon to keep his secret unrevealed ? What could happen if his secrecy was compromised? (200 words min.)
It is of the utmost importance for a Fallen to keep themselves hidden as it can have a range of consequences depending on who is encountered and involved. The worst case scenario would be that you attract the attention of someone who wants to find out the True Name of a Fallen so they can bind the Fallen to them and use them for their own purposes, or even worse, send them back to the Abyss; the discovery of a Fallen’s True Name is an absolute worst case scenario. The Fallen could also attract the attention of local hunter groups who wish to exterminate the Fallen, thus forcing them to go into hiding or if they are killed, forcing them to change host. Other supernaturals could also start paying attention to the Fallen, however being discovered by other supernatural is less of a risk than being discovered by mortals, as most supernatural creatures have a way to detect the Fallen’s aura and can easily distinguish them from typical mortals. However, the supernatural that have less than pure intentions may wish to try and force the Fallen to cooperate with them in a number of ways, how the Fallen responds to this is entirely up to them however a Fallen is not immune from being overpowered.

5.What would you do if someone found out about your secret ? (Min 100 words)
Should a mortal find out the secret that you are a Fallen, murder is absolutely out of the question if the Fallen wishes to not be further Tormented for their actions. The best way of resolving the situation in this case would be to attempt to diplomatically resolve the problem, thralling does not necessarily resolve the problem as a thrall can easily work against their master, however convincing the mortal to keep their knowledge secret is one way to solve the problem. Another way to solve the problem is to use a Lore or the power of an ally supernatural to erase the memories of that mortal, ensuring no loose ends.
