storage: 2x SSD 1 (or more) HDD setup. 1 SSD for operating system and Adobe suite, 1 SSD for cache files, HDD for long-term storage. You could probably get by with 1 SSD but a lot of people seem to use 2 for after effects.

gpu: mid-range consumer GPU like GTX 1070 is OK; AE doesn't make enough use of GPU to justify a high-end workstation GPU.
