- To hook up a door controller in Rust to open automatically when you return to your base on your mini, you will need the following items:
- Door Controller
- Smart Switch or Smart Alarm
- Wire Tool
- Electricity Source (e.g., Solar Panels, Wind Turbine, or Battery)
- RF Broadcaster
- RF Receiver
- Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Setting Up the Door Controller
- Place the Door Controller: Attach the door controller to the door you want to control. Make sure the door is locked with a code lock or key lock.
- Pair the Door Controller with the Door: Look at the door controller and hold E, then select "Pair to door." It should display a confirmation message if successful.
- Setting Up the RF Receiver
- Place the RF Receiver: Place the RF Receiver near the door controller.
- Set the RF Frequency: Look at the RF Receiver, hold E, and set the RF frequency to a unique number. Make a note of this frequency, as you will need to set the same frequency on the RF Broadcaster.
- Wiring the Door Controller
- Connect Power to the RF Receiver: Use the Wire Tool to connect an electricity source to the RF Receiver. For example, if you are using a small rechargeable battery, connect the output of the battery to the input of the RF Receiver.
- Connect the RF Receiver to the Door Controller: Use the Wire Tool to connect the output of the RF Receiver to the input of the Door Controller.
- Setting Up the RF Broadcaster
- Place the RF Broadcaster on Your Mini: Place the RF Broadcaster on your mini copter.
- Set the RF Frequency on the Broadcaster: Look at the RF Broadcaster, hold E, and set the RF frequency to the same number you set on the RF Receiver.
- Using the Setup
- Now, when you fly back to your base and get within range of the RF Receiver, the RF Broadcaster on your mini will send a signal to the RF Receiver, which will then activate the Door Controller to open the door automatically.
- Testing the Setup
- Test the Door Controller: Fly away from your base to get out of range, then fly back towards your base. As you approach, the door should open automatically.
- Adjust Range and Frequency if Needed: If the door doesn't open, check the range of the RF Broadcaster and Receiver and ensure they are both on the same frequency.
- This setup allows you to have an automatic door that opens when you return to your base, making it convenient and secure.
