Public Backstory: Over the past couple of years, reports have been coming in of an apparition appearing in one of Japan’s many forests. It’s been reported as child-like giggling, items disappearing before reappearing back in the house of the owner a day later, a strange blur jumping through the trees, and, sometimes, the sound of an animal in pain. The strange phenomena has been dubbed the Child of the Forest for its seemingly playful nature, usually, and childlike giggling.

In reality, the Child of the Forest is just Kenata Mitsukeru messing with people. The girl absolutely adores the forest and spends almost all her time there, enjoying the serenity and calmth of the woods more than anything in the world. Whenever people show up, she decides to have a little fun with them, trying to creep them out simply because she enjoys it. The rare sounds of an animal in pain is just Kenata getting good; even a girl acting like a spirit has to eat, after all.
