  1. Q: What does 100% define in this game?
  2. A: 100% in Outlast means getting all of the Notes(31 total)and Documents(31 total),for a total of 62. I usually count the notes and documents after a completed run to be sure I have everything.

  4. Q: What exactly are you doing with those walls and doors? Are you hacking?
  5. A: To answer that question: No I'm not :P Somewhat in-depth explanations of both glitches are below:
  6. Doorboosting/Ghosting: Doors have no collision when they are moving,and have collision when they are standing still. Ghosting involves closing the door with just the right timing such that the door keeps its state of having no collision so we can go through it. Ghosting is one of the more minor time saves,as it saves a few frames each time it's done. Doorboosting is a similar concept. You jump backwards away from the door and jump back into it immediately after. The 2nd jump happens right as the door becomes solid again,and moving any further causes you to boost above the ceiling because of how the game treats being stuck in an object.
  7. Door-ride(AKA"The Wallrider"): Whenever you hold a door or vault over an object,the game shrinks your hitbox. This was done by the developers so the game wouldn't have trouble playing those animations. Doing either of those 2 animations while hugged up against a wall,however,lets you keep your shrunken hitbox,and doing certain movement against walls with this small hitbox lets you go out of bounds or through small crevaces. Neutral jumping in this state is a very easy way to get out of bounds as well,but it isn't really used much in 100%.

  9. Q: What is this"2014%"All Chapters route?
  10. A: It basically does a route that was used before doorboosting was discovered,but I made some modifications to that route to include strats that use ghosting. I have banned the following glitches in my own runs of it otherwise:
  11. Doorboosting(except for the one in Return to Admin)

  14. Q: Why are you saving and exiting everywhere?
  15. A: It's usually to save having to do a lot more movement.
  16. 100% in particular in both this and the Whistleblower DLC have a lot of detouring to get the notes and documents,and normally there would be a bunch of backtracking that would take a lot of time.
  17. However,the checkpoints in this game have a property where they have a set spawn point that they put you at each time you reload a save off of them. This allows us to essentially save warp in a lot of places to skip all of that backtracking as well as cancel certain animations.
  18. In very rare instances,you can use it to skip cutscenes,which I do at the end of Admin Block.

  20. Q: How are you cancelling certain animations?
  21. A: It's as simple as pressing crouch when you either swipe a keycard or press a button. This saves about 10-12 seconds over the course of a whole run.
  22. I also try to do a fall animation cancel by moving the camera in certain ways with certain falls,but it's not used as often.

  24. Q: You're jumping in weird spots/running right past enemies,why are you doing this?
  25. A: It's to manipulate the enemy's AI or"Attack Timer"in this game. Baiting an enemy into hitting you or constantly crouching causes the attack timer to be reset,creating a 5 sec or so delay,so I take advantage of that to run past enemies. Enemies will also dash sideways if they're in your way after hitting you(which I find silly lol).

  27. Q: You seem to be pretty good at this,do you plan to submit it to major marathons?
  28. A: I definitely do. SGDQ 2017 is coming up next Summer. I am submitting 100% and No OoB alongside 3-4 or so other games in hopes of getting in. I'll definitely be a bit sad if it doesn't get in,but I'll try to work my butt off on the submission to make it as good as I can
