  1. Miki returned to her apartment after the excitement of the day. Learning that Chris was really real, she'd near had sensory overload. Vivi leaned against the wall near the door, knowing that the man who had nearly killed her creator was enroute to the states, so she was in guard mode. Neither knew that Takashi had been dealt with, however.
  2.
  3. 47 had new asked by Chris to deliver the news of Takashi's death to the new hire on his way home. Figuring he could just pass as another employee, he complied with the request. The assassin arrived back in Searenton, and went to the address Chris gave him.
  4.
  5. Miki had gotten herself some tea, and turned on some soothing music to help calm her down. Sitting down at her laptop, she was enthralled with a game now. Though, Vivi's proximity sensors would activate when she felt motion outside the apartment. The music and game would pause, Miki looking at Vivi for a moment before realizing what was going on. She slipped close to the android, and Vivi would peek out of the window.
  6.
  7. 47 stood at the door, his eye catching the movement in the window. He looked over at Vivi, then gave a polite knock.
  8.
  9. Vivi answered the door, putting on the most polite expression she could. "How may I help you?" Miki stayed back a bit, and though she showed her nervousness, she would try to smile. Though, her gaze fell on the man's face, and she had to do a double take.
  10.
  11. 47 looked into Vivi's eyes. "Good afternoon," he greeted. His eyes shifted to the female in the corner of the room. "I'm here for Miki." Bad choice of words. Not that he knew such just yet.
  12.
  13. Vivi stood her ground, especially when the man said he was there for Miki. Miki's eyes widened, her heart pulsing faster. But Vivi remained calm. "What reason have you for Miki-san?"
  14.
  15. 47 saw the fear in Miki's eyes, and noticed how protective Vivi was. Chris had told him about them both. "Chris sent me," he replied simply.
  16.
  17. Miki blinked when the man mentioned Chris, slowly approaching Vivi. "Y... you know Chris-san?" Of course, Vivi was scanning the man's face, cross-referencing any files that she might have had.
  18.
  19. 47 gave a nod. "Naturally. We share an employer. May I come in?" The assassin was very patient. He looked down at Miki, knowing she was the one in charge.
  20.
  21. Miki gave a gentle nod. "Vivi-chan... he has permission to enter." Vivi looked to her creator, then nodded, stepping to the side. Miki glanced over to her kettle. "Tea? Is Chris-san okay?"
  22.
  23. 47 walked into the apartment casually. For a moment, he considered refusing, but figured it would be rude. "Please." The assassin took a look around, scanning the room for bugs. "He's fine. I was in the area, so I suppose the task of meeting with you about Takashi fell to me."
  24.
  25. Miki gave a nod, fixing a cup for the man. "Oh. Chris-san and I met at the cafe. He seemed interested in my talents with computers, and I am new to the city. I wasn't expecting someone to offer me work so soon after moving here, but my research needs money to move forward. So I took him up on the offer." She looked to Vivi, giving a smile. "Vivi-chan is my creation... and sort of like a daughter to me." Though, her gaze fell back on the man. Thankfully, no surveillance in the apartment, aside from Vivi herself. "You seem familiar..." On her computer, the game she had been playing was the newest Hitman game.
  26.
  27. 47 gave her an odd look. "Do I?" Then he saw the game, and nearly did a double take himself at how bloody accurate it was. At least if he was still physically a bit older. "Couldn't imagine why." The assassin sipped his tea, thanking her for it with a nod. "My name is Tobias. I suppose we're colleagues now."
  28.
  29. Miki gave a nod. He really did seem familiar. As he glanced at her computer, she spotted the double take, blinking. But she gave a smile when the man gave his name. "It's very nice to meet you, Tobias-san. You said Takashi wouldn't bother me again, yes?" Vivi still kept a close watch on the man, merely being protective of Miki. But, she would at least properly introduce herself. "I am Vivi. Nice to meet you." She was, at least, trying to be nice. Miki gave a soft giggle. "I really just was shown the place... I don't know what I will be tasked with."
  30.
  31. 47 hadn't QUITE done a double take. But the resemblance had caught him off guard a little. "I actually said I was to speak to you about him. But you are correct. He will not bother you again."
  32.
  33. Miki was sharp. She'd noticed that Chris was a bit upset when he learned what had happened to her back in Japan. As the man confirmed that she would not be bothered by Takashi anymore, she gave a sigh of relief. "He tried to kill me before I moved to the States. And almost succeeded, had it not been for Vivi, even in her early phases, risking herself. I was still badly injured... lost an arm during recovery." She looked down at the prosthetic, wiggling the fingers lightly.
  34.
  35. 47 gave a light nod, almost as though he cared. He didn't. His close interactions with other employees wasn't his modus operandi. But he knew they were short handed, and he'd deal with it. For Yana. "He's dead," he noted with a particular lack of compassion.
  36.
  37. Miki glanced at her computer once more, then back at 'Tobias'. When he stated that Takashi was dead, her eyes widened. "Hai... um... Tobias-san... are you Shi?" He would know the word as death.
  38.
  39. 47 quirked a brow so little as to be almost completely unnoticeable. "Death? No." Though he had been called such on occasion. "Why do you ask?"
  40.
  41. Miki nodded. "You just sound and look like someone who deals with death a lot. Chris didn't tell me much about the Agency, but I wonder if it's like that Agency in the Hitman games. I... have all of them." Another glance was given to her laptop. Though, Vivi would make an idle comment. "She seems to think you have many qualities of the character in the game, Tobias-san."
  42.
  43. 47 listened to her and gave a light shrug. "I never said I didn't. Relating my work to that of the Grim Reaper is merely a stretch." She obviously knew who he was, though it appeared that she was in denial. "Our Agency doesn't have the manpower, reach, or influence of the ICA. Otherwise, I would not be here."
  44.
  45. Miki blinked once more. "Y... you're..." She looked at Vivi, whose expression was still. Thanks for the help, Vivi... her gaze shifted back to the assassin. "ICA doesn't exist here... but you are really him?! I promise I will keep your secret!! Vivi too!" Looked like she figured it out! "I... I really love the games. You're amazing! The movie they made was horrible, though... it didn't capture your presence at all." Rambly fan girl, much?
  46.
  47. 47 rolled his eyes. "You sound like Aika," he mused. "I know little about the games. Less about the movies. Watching thing depicting your lesser-known history is somewhat troubling, even for me." He sighed when she rambled, sipping his tea. Another fangirl. Oh well. He supposed it was better than straight fear. "I know you will. Yana doesn't hire anyone who won't. We're rather short-handed. Hence the personal visit. Such things are usually avoided, as I'm sure you know."
  48.
  49. Miki blinked once more. "G... gomen, Fort... Tobias-san. I..." She was blushing brightly. "Hai... you normally don't even visit your handler unless it's necessary. Um... I... I was designing a scenario in the new game for others to play. I... I know it's not really your thing, but would you like to take a look? See if there is anything I can do to make it more challenging?" If he said yes, she would move over to the computer, loading the simulation up in a dummy program. And much like Moka, the level itself would be rather challenging. Though, she hoped it would be a good one.
  50.
  51. 47 gave her an odd look. "In private, you may call me Forty-seven... if you like. But kindly use my alias in public." He was being especially friendly to Miki. Perhaps he was in a good mood. The assassin shrugged and set his tea aside to look over the level. "Challenging. Perhaps you and Moka could put your talents together in the simulator. It's much more interesting to try and solve a collaboration contract."
  52.
  53. Miki squeaked happily, though gave a nod. She was pure grins at the moment, and couldn't help but be excited. "Oh... okay!" She looked to Vivi. The android would put this to her memory as well. When 47 said the level was challenging, she blushed brighter. "You... really think so? I just tried to think like you, and things that would make you really think how to get around and to the target." She gave a nod. "I met Moka-san. She is very kind, and very smart. Creative, too." All the giddy! Though, it was clear she was trying not to touch the assassin. But... she also had a 'pinch me I must be dreaming' look on her face.
  54.
  55. 47 nodded softly. "You mean think as you imagine I would," he noted. Since she didn't actually know him. Only his game self. Aika had pointed out that they very rarely showed him outside of work. But he caught her look and he turned to her. She really did remind him of Aika. "I don't bite," he teased.
  56.
  57. Miki squeaked softly, but nodded with a soft 'mhm'. She gave a gentle smile, her real hand shifting up to gently grasp her other arm where the prosthetic and flesh met. "Hai... I... I tried to think what you might do in such situations." Her eyes widened when he teased her, and she blushed even brighter... that assassin was going to make her explode if he wasn't careful! "I... I..." She slowly reached a hand out, gently poking him on the shoulder. Eyes grew even wider, and an 'oh my gosh' look crossed her face. Queue epic squee!
  58.
  59. 47 just watched her, amused. So this was why Chris had REALLY sent him. He'd have a chat with the cyborg about that later. His suit was expensive Italian wool, so she'd get the textile feel from that along with the muscular arm beneath. "You're quite curious," he noted.
  60.
  61. Miki was very enthusiastic, her jaw dropping when she not only felt the soft material, but also the muscles beneath. At his statement of being curious, the girl squeaked, pulling away with a bright blush. "G... gomen, 47-san! I... didn't mean to offend you!" Quickly, the girl went to her knees, her head touching the floor in apology. At least the girl was respectful.
  62.
  63. 47 shook his head. "Between you and I, Miki, I appreciate curiosity. We learn from it. There's no reason to apologise. "
  64.
  65. Miki slowly looked up, her eyes blinking gently. "Y... you're okay with it?" She slowly sat back up, turning back to get both her own and 47's cups of tea. "I... just... it's still so... what is the word? Uh... omoshiroi... um... fascinating... to know that beings like you and Chris... that you are really real!"
  66.
  67. (21:00:20) Agent 47 nodded softly. "I prefer curiousity over outright fear, Miki. Though I do understand the fear behind my reputation. And often, it doesn't bother me. That fear is part of the job and the mystique. But with those in the Agency, it's pointless. Yana has arranged it well, and only allows those in whom she trusts. In that way, it's more close-knit than the ICA ever was. I still don't exactly prefer needing to interact with many of the employees, but.. it's different. A new experience for me. Yana's Agency has become like an extended family, of sorts. It's difficult to explain." Especially for someone like him, who was naturally antisocial. "Most of the canon history of the games was real as well," he pointed out. "These new ones, however... they take place after I was transported out of my universe. Though the likeness is.. closer. Disturbingly so."
  68.
  69. (21:14:07) Miki Haruko gave a soft nod. "I... I can understand that. You are still really amazing!" She was still a bit timid of him, knowing that he was every bit as strong as he seemed in the game. "Yana... you speak of her well... she is the lady who owns the Agency, hai?" Vivi gave a soft motion, shifting her weight. "Yana Volkov... former thief and run-away. Owner of Volkov Exotics. I have no records of her dealing with assassination corporations, however." Miki blinked, staring at her android for a moment before looking to 47. "Um... Even still... Yana makes sure only people she trusts are let in? That is smart. She probably has kept the Agency secret for a reason... to protect the people who work for her?" She gave a smile to 47. "I thought something seemed different from the earlier games versus the game they just released." She gave a thoughtful look. "But... if you're here... who is the 47 in the new game?" This was all starting to hurt her brain now.
  70.
  71. (21:23:28) Agent 47 looked to Vivi and nodded. "As well you shouldn't." His attention shifted back to Miki. "Correct. Though she gives chances to people as well. Like you. A chance to earn a real place in the Agency. In the family. And yes- to protect those who work for her. Though the initial reason was to employ me and assure my contracts were just. Something I appreciate." He gave a shrug to her query about the 47 in the new game. "Alternate universe. Copy. who knows? It could be complete fabrication for all I know. I've had no contact where I came from since I arrived here. Not even to Diana." He wasn't sure if he'd trust her with much more than that, like Yana being not only his boss, but his handler, and daughter.
  72.
  73. (21:32:15) Miki Haruko gave a gentle nod, smiling to him. "Well... knowing that someone like you is there, I think it will be fun. I can work with Chris and Moka to come up with stuff to use on the field too... I... I made this arm after the loss of my real one." She would demonstrate the connectivity as she had with Chris the day before, though she wasn't sure if this 47 would have as much interest in such things as Chris had. Listening as he mentioned the other 47 being a fabrication or a possible copy, alternate universe, she blinked again. "So many possibilities... um... we can just say the one in the game is just a fabrication." She gave a soft giggle. "I... I know you don't usually need thanks for taking someone out, but... I want to thank you for killing Takashi. When they put him in jail after what happened to me, I... I had been wanting him dead instead. Takashi was smart... he almost got away with Vivi's core program. I had to be one step ahead of him, and planted a dummy program."
  74.
  75. (21:36:51) Agent 47 cast only a passing gaze to the arm and nodded. "I'm sure you will be an asset to them, Miki." He picked back up his cup of tea and sat, sipping at it. "I never need thanks. But it is not the first time such has happened." So he nodded to her in a 'you're welcome' sort of way. "His deeds are of little consequence. He threatened an asset. Can't have that."
  76.
  77. (21:40:47) Miki Haruko looked to her hands, both the real one and the fake. "He's gone now. And... and I'm safe from him." She gave a gentle smile, looking to Vivi. "Vivi protected me... even though she was in her early stages, and the frame wasn't very strong, she was able to at least slow the bullet so that it didn't kill me immediately. She is downloaded with medical knowledge as well, and very well could be a vital asset too... she... she is welcome on the team as well?" Vivi turned her gaze to her creator. "Miki-san... you know I will always protect you. It's written in my code... and even if it weren't, I would still want to keep you safe. I feel as though it is the right thing to do." Miki giggled. "I'm sure that's just your code speaking, Vivi... but thank you. I know you will always be there for me." She always had been, after all. Ever since her conception.
  78.
  79. (21:47:20) Agent 47 gave a mild frown. "You're asking the wrong person, Miki. I'm an Agent, not Administration. In fact, I avoid any such roles as much as possible. And it's still come to be me who has to train others for stealth programs, simply for a lack of anyone else with similar experience." And even with becoming a part-time trainer, the assassin refused to take too much part in admin. Even if he helped Yana with ideas now and then. His hands were clean of any direct manipulation of the Agency itself. He did his job- and would continue to do so. That was the extent of his clearance- of his own choosing. Though he practically single-handedly funded them with the part of his contracts that went to the Agency. "I was only a Gamma with the ICA as well. Though my handler was Tetra. Anyone who saw my file was. That is still true."
  80.
  81. (21:55:57) Miki Haruko blinked, but gave a soft nod as she giggled. "Chris seemed welcoming of Vivi, at least... so I know she has his permission." She would listen as he mentioned training the ones who needed it with stealth. "I... I don't really think my skills are suited for stealth... I... I make programs and technology, sure... but I'm not sneaky. I'm actually quite a klutz sometimes." She gave a slightly sheepish grin, and Vivi gave a nod. "It is true... I have seen her trip and fall quite often... even before Takashi attacked. But, she did a very good job with the dummy program that baited Takashi. Had I not known it was a dummy program, I would have thought she was making a sister for me." The two exchanged amused looks between each other, though Miki nodded. "I keep all of my files highly encrypted now, especially after Takashi. And, with the repairs that Chris-san made to Vivi's programming just recently... I have noticed that her AI core is constantly evolving."
  82.
  83. (22:03:40) Agent 47 gave her an odd look. "I wasn't saying you should train for stealth, Miki. You're a tech, not an Agent. Stealth is a necessity for intel gathering as much as it is for assassination. And there are a few intel agents now. And other agents, like myself." he was still the highest in skill and experience- thus cost. But the others did minor jobs. Lower-paying, easier contracts. Ones that wouldn't interest him. "Chris knows AI tech- as well he should. His own core evolves as needed. I admire his adaptability."
  84.
  85. (22:12:42) Miki Haruko blushed, but gave a soft giggle as she nodded. "I... I see what you're saying now. I am still fairly new to the English language, but Chris is helping me learn." She gently rubbed her prosthetic arm, then gave an apologetic look to the man. "Um... sorry, I feel the need to remove my prosthetic. It sometimes bothers me." She would carefully remove the prosthetic, setting it to the side and carefully holding the now slightly red and irritated stump. "Vivi... please get my medicine?" The android nodded, making her way to the bathroom, only to return a moment later with a small basket of medication. She would tend to the stump for Miki, since it was much easier with two hands to do so. "Vivi was hacked when I was living in New Versailles. It was after I'd received an update from my father, who also aids with Vivi's programming. The hacker was a rival... but she ended up going to jail. Petty crime, and after I completely crashed her system, I doubt she'll try again."
  86.
  87. (22:17:22) Agent 47 seemed amused, even if it only showed in and around his eyes. And maybe, very slightly, at one corner of his mouth. "I speak Japanese, Miki. I am, in fact, fluent in several languages. Though I rarely speak them, so as to lull those around me into a false sense of security." He finished his tea. "it's no problem. I should be going anyway. Lingering here is dangerous, and I am expected at home."
  88.
  89. (22:20:05) Miki Haruko blinked. "I... I should have remembered that." She giggled softly, giving a nod to him. "Um... oh... okay! Will I see you again?" She knew how elusive 47 was in general, and of course meeting him in person was ever so exciting to her. "You are really amazing, Mr. 47! Please, arrive home safe. And I really do hope to see you again soon! You are always welcome at my apartment, too!" She was quite adorable, of course. She'd not intended to go all fan-girl on him, it merely had happened.
  90.
  91. (22:24:56) Agent 47 nodded softly. "I would certainly hope so. You need to work with Moka on a few of the simulations. I look forward to running them." Then he stood, and nodded, extending his hand. "I remain safe as well as I can, Miki. But thank you. And good luck with fully earning a place inside the Agency. though I imagine you will do quite well." Once she bid farewell and all that, he would leave her apartment and head home. After all- he had a son to take care of.
