[INTRO]
I go by "Elementriloquist".

I've always had an interest in the occult despite being a skeptic. I was lucky enough to stumble upon Initiation Into Hermetics by Franz Bardon, and it is by far the most detailed and straight forward occult book I've ever come across. So I decided I would start training and I would use Franz Bardon's methodology.

The thing is, I kinda hate reading 😅. I decided I'd create an audiobook for myself so that I could enjoy the learning process and speed up how fast I can learn the theory sections of the book. The funny part is, in the process of creating the audiobook, I basically read the book multiple times and I understand the theory well at this point.

It just didn't "feel" like reading (this process is my cheat code).

From there I decided I'd create a youtube channel where I'd upload all of Franz Bardon's books, and I'd also start consuming other occult writings this way.




[INFORMATION]
[1.] I am not larping. I've seen other generals on /x/ and they are clearly jokes. I can't believe that anyone posting there actually takes it seriously, but as we all know there's a lot of crazy and stupid people on the internet, so there has to be a few of them that "aren't in on the joke".

I am a skeptic at heart, but I have had certain experiences in life that have made me question the nature of reality. However I always had an aversion to the occult and occult communities because most people seemed like they were "larping". It always looked like the average person posting about magic was playing make believe and they weren't taking any of this literally (which is exactly why they never spoke about magic in a practical way).

I am taking this entire thing very literally and very seriously, treating it like a science experiment. Which fits very well with Bardon's methodology as this is the mindset he seems to have.

You are even told how to experiment in order to test whether or not you have attained any abilities.


EXAMPLE 1 (Using A Thermometer To Test For Changes In Room Temperature):

"Repeat the accumulation and evacuation several times, and by each emptying, you will accumulate the fiery element all the more in the room. As soon as you are free from the element yourself, you ought to feel how the element is amassing in the room, and get the sensation of the room becoming very warm. After some exercising, the warmth in the room will become not only a subjective, but a real matter of fact and any person—magically trained or not—entering this room is actually bound to feel the warmth. A thermometer does indicate, how far we are capable to condense our imagination with respect to the fire, so that factually a materially perceptible warmth can be produced in the room. The success of this exercise depends entirely on the willpower and the plastic imaginative faculty. It is not absolutely necessary, in this step, to bring about such an amount of physical warmth that it can be measured with a thermometer. But supposing a magician takes a keen interest in working in this more spectacular way, he can specialise himself in this problem with the help of these instructions. The genuine magician, however, will not be satisfied with such an insignificant phenomenon, and rather prefer to further his own development, because he is firmly convinced that he can obtain much more, as time goes on."

"Magicians trained in this line, can condense an element to such a degree that it becomes a material power. That's why you can lighten a fire with the help of the fiery element at the greatest distance. At first, practise imaginary drawing a fiery ball down from the universe directly, without having it passed through the body, and compress it to a small bead so much as to grow a glowing spark. Put this spark in a cotton plug which has been soaked in easily inflammable liquids like ether, petrol or alcohol. A second spark is to be prepared, in the same way, with the air-element and, the very moment both sparks are touching the cotton plug, it will catch fire and begin to burn. Having succeeded in this little trick, the magician can make an attempt with the wick of an ordinary candle, and later on with a paraffin-lamp. He can do this near and far."


Just from looking at the table of contents of Initiation Into Hermetics I was surprised, and I realized that I had FINALLY found an occult book worth reading and learning.

When I had reached the parts of the book I quoted above, I could truly see just how different Franz Bardon was from other occult authors. He made himself and his writings "fallible" (something I had never seen before). Other authors give no clear instructions and/or speak about magic and the occult in a vague and illusory way, as if they are trying to leave room for excuses if nothing they say "works".

Franz Bardon speaks about magic as if it's a science. He speaks about it as a literal and real phenomenon which can be both observed and tested. He's made it so that you can gauge your progress, or gauge if anything you are reading is even possible, since you can test it yourself.

This is exactly why I trust his writings and methodology, and why I decided to begin practicing and creating these assets for my personal use (at some point I'd have to review things, and an audiobook just makes reviewing much quicker).
