From 2015 to 2022, I spent hundreds of hours on Duolingo, translating articles, answering language questions on the forums, and helping to improve the smaller courses by reporting mistakes.
There are thousands of volunteers who donated their labour to Duo: the course creators who wrote their courses, the volunteers who created grammar guides (some smaller languages had an entire second course in the forums), the wiki contributors, the native speakers who answered questions in the sentence discussions.
All of their work made Duolingo the powerhouse it is today. Duo was built by a community who believed in its original mission: language learning should be free and accessible.
Bit by bit all of our work was hidden from us as Duolingo became a publicly-traded company. And now that work is being fed into their AI as training data.
Well, I've learned the true lesson of Duolingo: never give a corporation your labour for free. Don't ever trust them, no matter what they say. Eventually greed will consume any good intentions.

Im Fußball gibt es diverse Sportjournalisten, die ein ähnliches Modell betreiben und die älteste Form sind die Paparazzi, die können allerdings meistens Bilder liefern.  Von der Qualität somit noch über dem Niveau der Videospielbranche.  Abschließend noch eine Anmerkung. Mit jedem Click auf Youtube oder eines Podcast helft ihr dem Contant Creator dabei weitere zu erstellen, bzw. setzt Anreize. Ihr schürt damit das ganze System selbst noch an.

In many ways I support Nintendo’s decision to not resort to heavily discounting their titles. So often these days I see people saying they’ll wait for a game to be discounted before buying it (and I’m getting that way myself!) and I think people are doing that more and more.
This race to the bottom can’t be good for the industry long term. The more people wait for discounts the more publishers will bog their games down with surprise mechanics, NFTs, micro-transactions, etc and cut corners on other parts of development. This might even be why games are $70 now so publishers can squeeze the early adopters as much as possible.

Oh yeah, it's great right now if you pick a game before it launches and play every day for five years straight, but once you drop off, you can't really get back in to it. 1.) Never use your real name, phone number, social security number, or address online except for official government work, or where legally obliged.
2.) Always use a VPN as a bare minimum. Strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and backup accounts are a MUST!
3.) If you give away or donate electronic devices, most people forget (or don't care ) to sign out of them first. Make sure if you have Android or iOS, to remove your accounts from the phone or tablet BEFORE a factory reset. Otherwise, the next person won't be able to sign in on the device, and your account can become a target for hackers to bruteforce their way in. (I've recently experienced this, and the loss I'm suffering from it is pretty grand.)
4.) Always backup and sync your important documents, pictures, videos, and other precious moments to multiple cloud accounts, even if it seems redundant. You never know when a device can fail or an account can become compromised

HP steht bei mir nicht umsonst für heavy problems und das hat seine Gründe: HP Drucker mit eingebautem Seitenzähler + Uhr = Nach 3,5 Jahren streikt das Gerät. Grund? Kein mechanischer... der Zähler und das interne Datum mussten zurückgesetzt werden im EProm des Geräts. Dannach lief der wieder. Versteckt verbaute und fast unmöglich zugängliche "Tintenresttanks" sind mir ein Graus. Die Dinger auszuwaschen ist ne riesen Sauerei. Fernseher wo nach 4 Jahren der Kunststoff spröde wird und dann die Fronttaster ins Gerät fallen weil die Halter gebrochen sind... Sauerei! Bastellösung: Externe Taster am Kabel vorn aus der Front. Die Liste dieser Sollbruchstellen lässt sich noch weiter fortsetzen....
